No. The translation is correct.
Also, the Spirit is not removed. He simply stops restraining the lawless.

If I may: lawlessness is not a condition without laws: It's not as if natural laws cease (gravity, light, etc.). Lawlessness, as it relates to people, is when "..everyone does what is right in his own eyes." The United States was and is a breeding ground for this mindset: promoting the individual's "rights" above those of the whole, and, establishing the people as sovereign over the nation.

Today, without restraint from the Spirit, the world is attempting to redefine long-held truths about biology and the very nature of humans; Speech is labeled "violence" and violence is now ensconced as a tool for advancement especially among the ruling class. The church, once believing themselves to be the light of the world, now supports serial fornicators and brutish men for the sake of political expediency. Sure, all this is not new, but the scope of it has not circled the globe.

The Spirit has moved out of the way. We are witnessing the slouch toward Gomorrah.

We agree to disagree. Keep in mind the Day of the Lord in which we seek cannot happen at least half-way thru the tribulation per 2 Thess 2, so that eliminates any coming before middle of the seven.

2 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling to meet him, we beg you, brethren, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or excited, either by spirit or by word, or by letter purporting to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

I'm not even talking about the rapture.. just Who the "he" is that is taken away.

There is no pre-trib rapture, for the record.

That is merely an assumption. Taking John to Heaven is not the same as the Resurrection/Rapture of the Church. It was very unwise to extend the meaning of this verse.

I like you! Who knows maybe i'll become a pre-tribber one of these days. Ive come to realize that the well (so to speak) has been poisoned by hyper-dispies who deny water baptism and repentance and some even deny Romans 10:9 and say the confessing with your mouth is just believing lol. (Robert Breaker does this for example) This has caused me to immediately reject the doctrine and fight against it tooth and nail and I realize this was more of an emotional response to seeing the whacked out nonsense that was being preached, but then I realized it wasn't fair as with post-tribbers we have our own weirdos like the JWs and the "second exodus" judaizers and so on.

You seem to represent the sane-section of the pre-tribbers. Can I ask what church do you belong to if any? Or some teachers you'd recommend I could listen for normal pre-trib Christians.

Revelation has nothing to say about the Rapture.
Well we compare scripture from one book of the Bible with another and we build up a more detailed picture when we do this..

And if this scriptures being discussed here from Revelation does say something about the rapture then the Book of Revelation does have something to say about the Rapture..

The time of salvation by faith ends at Rev 14:15. From this time on the unrighteous can without foreknowledge enter the kingdom in flesh and blood by works alone and will be called the sheep by helping the jews flee the antichrist. There is no resurrection or rapture at the return of Christ at the end of the Tribulation.

When the one who makes the covenant with many, the world will be in turmoil. And as he makes his journey showing his christlike abilities bestowed upon him by Satan and becomes known as the antichrist in the middle of the 7, 1260 days or 42 months ( Dan 9:27 ). Seventy five days later or 2.5 months the resurrection/rapture happens called the Day of the Lord. The unrighteous will then enter the bowl judgements for 39.5 months. Total time for the Tribulation is 2520 days or 7 years

I am presently unable to attend a church. Hopefully that will change soon. As to any recommendations there is a program called "The Gospel Hour". Oliver Greene was its founder but has passed on. However, his commentaries are excellent and are still available (to the best of my knowledge). I am not sure about his successors since I do not listen to that after he passed on.

No works will ever obtain eternity with God for anyone ever... Only by believing Jesus and trusting in His atonement will people have eternal life with God..

And i believe the rapture will happen on the day of the return of the Messiah Jesus.. Pre-tribulation rapture is simply a doctrine that many people want to be true because it offers them liberation from persecution..

Rev. 14:15 Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, “Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.

Well, couldn't this be the rapture/resurrection ??

This is the Day of the Lord at the seventh trumpet when Jesus Christ returns. IMG_5750.gif

Questions one needs to answer!

The Day we seek cannot come before the antichrist takes his seat in temple of God in the middle of the 7 (years). Dan 9:27
What is the Blessed Day of the prophet Daniel on the 1335th day. Dan 12:12
What is the last Trump or Trumpet?
Scriptures only speak of one more coming for the righteous. Hebrews 9:28, Matthew 13:30, and 1 Corinthians 15:23
Lord does not return to earth in the resurrection/ rapture. 1 Thess 4:17 and Rev. 14:16, Luke 21:27
How can the days be shortened and yet 7 years long. Matthew 24:22
How can the Day of the Lord be Terrible and yet Glorious. Acts 2:20, Joel 2:31

Don’t be so hard on yourself.
Why is exposing your unbiblical positions being hard on myself? It is you who should now start being hard on yourself.
