I do try to obey God! I have been immersed after salvation.. I go to church regularly, study the Bible and share my faith. But these are responses to what God has done for me by giving me eternal life. Not the way of getting eternal life. Baptism is a response to the gift given..all works...

'Save' does not always mean salvation from sin. So.. a 'salvaged life' to God. Being a faithful believer...includes water baptism. This is separate to belief on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.

I used to go out sharing with Campus Crusade for Christ. Using the four spiritual laws booklet to lead people to Christ. That was an amazing experience, although later I have found their prayer for salvation to be a bit conditional on behaviour. Eg.. 'I now submit my life to Christ' . Well...

Okay.. look .. I agree with a prayer to be saved. The example you posted is fine (although I would not condition any kind of behaviour or work in receiving eternal life). It's just that there are people who are deaf and blind who still believe without praying. How? By their inward conviction.
