I agree with SonOfAdam on the speaking in tongues topic, but i would like to make some points about another "gift", the gift of healing. The "miracles" done today are nothing compared to the miracles Jesus and the apostles did. Any of you can confirm of someone being raised from death? or a real miraculous healing? like someone's amputated leg or arm gowing up in a blink of an eye? We tend to misuse the word "miracle". i have no doubts that God has the power to do such miracles still, but they are not happening because there is no real need of such supranatural miracles, they had a purpsse whenever they happened. A purpose of confirmation that they (Jesus, the apostles) were sent by God and doing His work, preaching His Word. Today we have the complete Word, the full guide of how we should live, testimonies, also future prophecies. So i believe these 3 gifts (healings, speaking in tongues and prophecies) have ceased around the time the Bible was completed.
