Speaking in tounges is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Not every christian has this gift. Being a christian means you have Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. There are nine different gifts and some people have them all some people just have some of the gifts and the others just a few. God gives us these gifts in His time and just pray for them and believe for them. You are saved even if you don't speak in tounges I am saved and I don't have the gift of speaking in tounges, but I have other gifts.
