Welcome to CDD

Really? This site is insane.

On a pain scale of one to 10, Chelsea ranks the epidural-free birth of her child as a six. Her husband’s spankings? Those are an eight.

But this isn’t domestic abuse, Chelsea says. This is for Jesus.

Chelsea and her husband Clint, who asked that I use only their first names, belong to a small subculture of religious couples who practice “Christian Domestic Discipline,” a lifestyle that calls for a wife to be completely submissive to her husband. Referred to as CDD by its followers, the practice often includes spanking and other types corporal punishments administered by husbands—and ostensibly ordained by God.

This is so crazy it's insane how far people will go to justify domestic abuse ladies do not let your husband tell you anything else it is abuse

The "Rebuke and Lash" that their website expresses is absurd. I will agree with you on this matter. Even though the believing husband of a wife has authority over her, to physical harm her is not a loving gesture. Paul wrote in two places of the Bible for the husband to love his wife and not be harsh with her.

But don't let such matters cause you to go on the deep end of extremism. This is only one group of "Christians" out of the many Christian groups in the world that don't speak of such poppycock. Be concerned, be aware, advocate against such stupidity. But don't let it drive you to being a feminist for Christ. I don't believe in Masculism either. Any extreme of a thing is redlining it and will harm the engine (heart). There are many sound Bible believing Spirit-filled Christian's in this world that truly have the love of God in them. You FIT in this group--you don't have to seperate yourself as an extreme radical. Christian feminists get caught up in bad practices and "theology" such as the author(s) and promoters of the Silent Voices Bible.

But I agree with you that the CDD group is not edifying marriages in regards to what can be abuse.

Wife to be completely submissive to her husband is Biblical

Husbands to love their wives and not be harsh with them, also Biblical

Thing is, you never know if Poe's Law is at work here.

Nothing surprises me about religion anymore... Or should I say the people who try to use religion as their justification.

pretty sure someone here is a poser, twisting scripture, or taking it and posting it so they can heighten what they think is ridiculous but wont' take the time to find out what it actually means

I was going to say pretty similar of a thing. Maybe they like BDSM and just feel the need to somehow 'christianize it'

Do you expect your wife to be 'completely submissive' is the question?
That's how I read the OP.

You are right in that this is indeed insane. No woman should tolerate domestic abuse that is disguised as being submissive to their husband. A husband should love his wife and the wife should be submissive to her husband's love. The type of marriage described is based on fear rather than mutual respect and lacks love.

Well well, well spanking of the wife is sanctioned!!

''He has the responsibility for leading his family and is accountable before God for their well-being and development. He has the authority to spank his wife for disciplinary reasons, but in real CDD marriages, this authority is taken quite seriously and usually happens rarely. ''
