I am here to talk about a major problem we have been having in cc. There is a huge lack of love in many of our hearts, there are many judgmental self righteous and condemning ppl and it is scaring ppl away. I have seen many dear friends leave cc because they were treated with judgmental attitudes from people who call themselves Christians but have no love in their hearts.

honestly my heart has been broken many times because some amazing and beautiful ppl who became dear and cherished friends to me have been scared away because of such attitudes, I help ppl mainly through pm and many new believers I came to into contact with have either been driven away because of such ppl or asked me if this is what it means to be a Christian.

we never really know or see the damage our words have until its too late, many do not see the damage they are doing or the ppl they are scaring away but I do. I have said it many times and I will say it again we are to be love

Miss Trinity I have enjoyed seeing your posts and how you are always so encouraging and funny, It would truly break my heart if you got scared away too

We may not all agree, but we must share with a heart of love. You are right, it is easy for judgement to be cast upon others. Thankfully we have a Judge in the heavens.

Yes this is very true, myself and others I have seen have been the brunt of condemning natured people on here who are quick to condemn you or even call you names just because you don't agree with 100% the way they do.
They have hatred instead of love in their heart which pushes people away. This was a major issue in the churches back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's which caused the church population to diminish. To much condemnation teaching that scared people away, or made them sad to be called a Christian.

The other thing that we need to do besides show our love and pull away from this condemnation attitudes that some have, is to also get some to come away from the watered down gospel that is still an issue as well.

Shouldn't the one who is offended confront the offender?
Otherwise how will the 'insensitive' offender know?

Sometimes I think Satan twists what is said to be tools to drive people away and neither the one who speaks or who hears truly communicates.

I've seen too many conversations where the two people actually agree on a lot but end up arguing how it should be said more than what is being said. I admit there are some real disagreements but at the end, I have found true Christians understand what it means to die to self, and love others because God first loved us.

I would suggest prayer before speaking angry words or becoming offended by what another says.

I've found also that hurt people will hurt others and sometimes those who offend the most are most in need of prayer and kind words.

Yes, we are to put out their error.
But we are still to do it in a loving and polite manner. With scripture to back up our side of debate.
It they then still refuse to see, or at least tend to listen to what you have to say, then you must dust off your feet and keep moving. You can not make all people come to open up and see other view points if they are to stuck in their old ways.

I have learned a lot from others on here, as well as seen that from others as well I am on the right path on my walk with the Lord and His teachings. We all our still learners, and nobody has it completely right.
The scriptures make it clear that those who believe they are all knowledgeable, the Lord will make them look foolish.

Not sure, sometimes I have been confronted when I had no clue I had offended. Often it is in their mis-reading into what I was saying...a matter of cross cues.

The BDF is only one of many forums on CC. The tone here can get competitive and even a bit nasty at times, but people should realize that dearly cherished Bible dogmas are not going to be given up without a fight.

If things get hot here, then get out of the kitchen. I would suggest the Prayer Forum, where the threads often run to 3 or 4 posts. I know we could all benefit from praying for the needs expressed, instead of duking it out here or leaving.

Of course, we could also work on arguing in love, if there is such a thing!

Or or missing the verbal and physical cues that give away that the person is non-threatening. One of the obvious drawbacks of the Internet!

Sometimes ppl are offended but not because of what the first person said but rather they are immature and lack wisdom and love, sometimes its not the first persons fault. If i offended people I hope they confront me about it
