A Study of the Scriptures: All the Stories in the Bible.

This is a Bible study so as to discuss all the stories in Scripture.

All stories will be attempted to be told in chronological order.

How am I defining a story within this Bible study?

I believe most stories in the Bible are life stories. Life stories in the Bible (Whether generic or specific) is what classifies a true story in my opinion. For example: The story of the Exodus is not an isolated story in and of itself. It is a part of the story of Moses and His people. Neither is Noah's drunkenness and his cursing of Canaan it's own story, but it is just one chapter in the life story of Noah. Also, most prophecies or the relaying of brief information on certain people in the Bible that does not give us a complete picture or enough information to draw us in personally is not a story. Some parables are stories and others are not stories.

The Bible has interrupting storylines that overlap or intersect with one another. However, the entirety of another person's life story that interrupts another person's life story will be put on hold until the present current story line is completely told. Only the first chapter or introduction of the interrupting life story will be provided (for brief discussion) and then the previous story line will then resume. The interruption of the first chapter is allowed because each story in the Bible that takes place chronologically should be mentioned so as to fit a numbered story list. For example: Lot's story interrupts Abraham's story at various times. However, only Lot's first interrupting chapter of his life story (That intersects with Abraham's story that is about Lot expressing to Abraham that there is not enough land for his sheep) will be mentioned during the telling of Abraham's story. After Abraham's story is completely told, will Lot's entire story be examined (With a re-cap of the 1st chapter).

I believe God provides us with interrupting stories lines because God desires to interrupt the story of our lives with His story.

Warning: Please Read Thread Rules Below Before Posting.

Rule #1. This is not a debate thread. This is a study thread. If you disagree with an interpretation or view expressed here, you can say how you disagree in one or two sentences, but you must provide a link to a new thread (or one that was previously created in the past) to produce your reasons as to not interrupt the purpose of this study.

Rule #2. I will put forth the stories and nobody else. Please no random mention of God's stories or a general discussion of the stories within the Bible. If you disagree with how the stories are put forth, state your reasons briefly in one or two sentences and provide a link to another thread to discuss such a thing. The purpose of this study is to stay on track with discussing the stories of the Bible. This is not a thread about the debate of the chronology of the Bible or about how you disagree with someone. This is a Bible Study thread which is supposed to help enrichen your beliefs about the stories in God's Word. Also, the chronology is one proposed chronology to help the reader have an idea of the over all picture of God's story (The chronology is not meant to be authoratative).

Rule #3. Stay on point with only the story being currently discussed. No past story discussions that are really old. Please try and discuss only the current story under discussion. Granted, I will allow a few comments after a story has just passed, but such discussion should not continue on and on so as to interupt the current story discussion or study. If you want to add to a past story discussion (that has been over for a long while), start another thread. The purpose is to stay on point with each of the stories. This would also include refraining from telling a story that is still yet future for us to discuss, too. If you feel a story has been missed, please PM me and I will be happy to discuss it with you.

Story #1 - God's Story (the Word)
(From Everlasting to the Beginning and Beyond):
(Early Story Introduction)
(This story's beginning is mentioned here but it's entire story with an overview of all of it's chapters will not be mentioned at this point until this entire story is complete; Which will be at the End of Revelation).

Chapter 1: - From Everlasting to the Beginning.

From everlasting to everlasting, thou art God (Psalm 90:2).

One God (1 Timothy 2:5).

None else beside him. (Deuteronomy 4:35).

The true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king (Jeremiah 10:10)

For God is the King (Psalm 47:7).

God is love (1 John 4:8)

God is Spirit (John 4:24).

God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5).

For the LORD is good; (Psalm 100:5).

Holy, is the LORD (Isaiah 6:3).

The Almighty, ... excellent in power, and in judgment, .... (Job 37:23)

He is mighty in strength and wisdom. (Job 36:5)

His understanding is infinite. (Psalm 147:5).

The LORD is righteous in all his ways (Psalm 145:17).

He is the Rock, his work is perfect: ... a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he (Deuteronomy 32:4).

In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth (Genesis 1:1)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God (John 1:1). For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (1 John 5:7)

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made (John 1:3)

For this God is our God for ever and ever: (Psalm 48:14)

Added Note:

I just wanted to add that God's Story (Mentioned above) and the Devil's Story (Which will be included soon) is an exception to the standard rule of how the stories are being told. God's Story and the Devil's Story spans the entire Bible. So both God's Story and the Devil's Story will have an Introduction. In the Devil's Story, it will be just one chapter mentioned (Until his entire story can be told at the "End of Revelation").

But in God's Story, It is 2 Introductory Chapters.

Chapter 1 - Which talks about God's pre-existence leading up to the Creation.

Chapter 2 - Which talks about God creating everything.

So right now we are in the 1st Chapter talking about God's Story (Existence) before the Creation (Leading up to it).

What is God like?

What are His eternal attributes?

Was there anything God did before the Creation?

Did God declare the End from the Beginning before Creation or after Creation? (Isaiah 46:10).

God is a spiritual being with a personal soul and spirit and has a body of a spiritual substance

Jason, you got a lot up there in post one about what God is like. Don't know if you want posters to comment on every question but as far as what God was doing before creation I have no idea. I'm not sure if scripture makes any comment about it. I heard one guy say that when God created in the 6 days recorded in Genesis, it included angels. He quoted this verse to prove his point:

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. Ge.2:1

I've also heard that some ancient Jewish sage believed that Genesis 1 contains the entire history of all things from beginning
To end.

God is the Alpha and Omega thus He declared the end from the beginning The Alpha is in eternity before the creation of time and this is before creation so in the end or Omega there will be no time but Eternity exist already outside of time

Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones

The angels were created before the earth came into being

Job 38 King James Version (KJV)

1 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

This stuff beyond comprehension, some of it, When you think about the laws written in nature, gravity and tides, seasons, and weather, He doesn't even bother boasting how amazing He is, He just tells you He made it. Here in this age 10,000 years later, we're still learning how Amazing God is, The Creator.

It so impresses me that even in the first chapter, the depth of meaning is so that even after years, more and more comes to light as we read. I used to wonder because science usually proves scripture and scripture proves science, but there seemed to be a discrepancy about how old the earth was. Finally, I saw that it told of what was here "In the beginning". It didn't say when the beginning was, but then it told what had been done before scripture tells of what God did to complete creation. It was only darkness and chaos of having no presence of the Lord, on the first day that was added to make light and an earth for us. The sun and moon was created on the fourth day. It was only darkness and blindness without the light of the Lord.

God could have made them on day 1.

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. Eze.28:15

Before the world, love existed between God the Father and God the Son (John 17:24).

Before the world, God the Son shared in a glory with God the Father (John 17:5).

Before the world's foundation, He (God) chose us in Him (Ephesians 1:4).

Before the world, God promised us eternal life (Titus 1:2).

Here's where it gets really cool. The saints have a kingdom prepared for them since the foundation of the world (Matthew 25:34). This suggests that God was preparing a kingdom for us before the creation.

Really? You've been here the whole time to verify that yourself? You can't just say "NONE of the sories in the bibble/bible NEVER HISTORICALLY happened", and not provide some reason for that deduction. See on the flip I could say that "every bit of it happened for sure", but if that's all I say it's not worth the time you took to read it.

So how are you so certain that "NONE of the sories in the bibble/bible NEVER HISTORICALLY happened"? How did you gain this amazing certainty?

Who was building this city before the foundation of the world
First, it is obvious that it is God. For the word "King" in Matthew 25:34 is in reference to God who prepared a kingdom since the foundation of the world (i.e. the six day creation). Meaning, the Kingdom of God. A spiritual kingdom. Heaven. For God prepared this Kingdom for each of His Elect. Second, the Kingdom was not bullt before the six day creation. It was prepared since or at the foundation of the world. Meaning, the Kingdom of Heaven came into existence at the six day creation. What I meant to say is that it God prepared it in His mind before the Heavens and the Earth came into being in the Beginnning.
