Lots of people have horrible diseases some they were born with others it was obtained later in life. Some people say sin is the cause others say its just something they have to deal with. But I am wondering if sickness disease and pain are something else? Is it really because of sin? is really just something that we have to deal with? Or is it instead a thing given to us to glorify God? All my life I have had to deal with many kinds of medical issues all sorts of sickness and my body is of course damaged from it all, but just on cc alone I see people who have gone through so much worse and yet they have such a loving and positive attitude about them. I always knew that my problems were for a good reason and for God's glory but then I see so many others with worse stuff and yet they show God's love and heart in the midst of their trouble.

How easy it would be to become angry at God how easy it would be to ask why and to hate God for making us go through all this, but when I see how so many just on here alone go through all they do and yet are so loving and full of a heart for God I am humbled and amazed. I then begin to think that our sicknesses and our diseases must truly be for God's glory, i finally understand what he meant when he said he will turn all things to good for us.
you all are the ones who taught me this because you shine so brilliantly in the fire and darkness, the scriptures always talk about how he will heal the broken hearted and the sick in health how he adores a pure heart, and I am grateful that I got to see the ones he was talking about.

i think it's also important to know when we get to heaven we're given a new body.
the body we have now is temporary.

This young woman at church was born with spina bifida (or however you spell it) and she has a better attitude and Outlook on life than myself who is whole. I have much to learn from her.
Thanks mate.

My personal outlook on this is that having a disease can be as good, or as awful as you make it to be. What I mean is, you can pity yourself and whine and moan and say "why ME?" Why is it ME that has diabetes, or cancer, or whatever disease. Well, I say, why NOT you?
We all can learn from our disabilities. We all have one, physical or not. It is how we deal with our illnesses that define us. We can use our trials to build us up and strengthen us, or we can lay down and say "i give up cuz i'm gonna die anyway so what's the use"? Alot of people whom I know with illnesses have said this very same thing to me countless times. If a person would rather roll over and act like their already dead, rather than get up and fight with everything they have, then I truly pity that person for their fear of illness and death has made them give up on themselves.

My view on having cancer was, "okay, I have cancer. What am I supposed to learn from this? How can I help others with the same disease"? I did the "poor me, why me" thing, but then I realized that I could give in and crumble, or stand and fight and kick my cancer's butt!! :)

Many people on here have come to me and asked me, "I have (insert disease) and I don't know what to do." My advice to them is: 1.) get informed on what you have and what your options are, 2.) keep a positive attitude throughout it all, and 3.) keep fighting! Never give up!! There are valuable lessons to be learned from illness, if we stop and take the time to learn. :)

Can't it be both? Satan may have meant it for evil but God can take it and turn it for good. :)

Yes, sickness can be because of sin, but some might stumble upon it from someone else's sin, and still others are given it purposely by God to bring about His Will. Paul begged God to take his away, but God said His grace was sufficient for him. Sometimes God's Will seems terrible- like crucifying Christ- but it was necessary to save all of us.

I heard a true story one time... In a consideration camp one group of christian women had fleas. They asked God why because they were already suffering so much. But in hinds sight they were the only ones who were not raped by the men when they had to go to the bathroom. Sometimes what we see as a curse is really a blessing in disguise.

Diseases is dissent of ease. So to be diseased is to be not eased. It comes in many fashions, it can be from what we eat., it can spiritual and come from sin, it can come from the environment that we work or play in. But according to Gods word if we trust in Him He will restore us from all our diseases. Even in death we are restored, by the power of the cross. I meant do you want to be healed or go home, its a tough question is it not?
