The other day I was with rallies and someone began to read an article about a fella who was responsible for killing many many people. Apparently he has now given his life to God and become a christian. Now the response from people around was like-

"He is a gonner"
"He just turned to God as an excuse to asuage his guilt"

Well.. i thought to myself-- HANG ON..

If he was genuine about entrusting his salvation with Jesus.. then he is forgiven- of ALL that.

Think about this-- someone who is given that much mercy and grace and realises the depth of it.. would love greatly

They would likely understand the saving power of the Holy Spirit.. of God because they know how much they have been set free from.

This kind of thing could lead to someone falling on the knees and weeping before God at the depth of His mercy and grace.

So-- yes if he didn't really mean it when he turned to Jesus. and was just trying to clear his conscience somehow.. then probably not forgiven.. but if he genuinely wanted forgiveness..

Jesus has the power

I believe we as christians are called to pray for all sinners.
What greater work can we do?
Or do we think we should pray for only the good sinners.
I agree we should all not only pray, but celibrate all that turn from evil.
The ones that are using this in a lie? Well one can still hope that God will convict them.
One way or another.
God bless, pickles

A lie will condemn you to hell the same as murder.
I believe many have been saved who were once on death row and before execution gave their life to GOD and were sincere.
I have been in lockdown myself and I know the evil that surrounds the premesis and without GOD your an easy target.
IF
we can read about the miracles in the BIBLE
CREATION - MAN MADE FROM DUST AND SPIT - ENOCH WAS CAUGHT UP AND IS STILL ALIVE - NOAH AND THE ARK - ABRAHAM, ISAAC, JACOB - MOSES - SAMPSON - ELIJAH CAUGHT UP AND STILL IS ALIVE - KING DAVID AND HIS VICTORIES - THE MAJOR PROPHETS (ISAIAH, EZEKIEL, JEREMIAH, DANIEL + ALL THE MINOR PROHETS) - JONAH IN A WHALE BELLY FOR 3 DAYS AND STILL LIVED - PROPHECY OF THE COMING MESSIAH
these are just some examples.......
and
THEN
BELIEVE
in a GOD that we cannot see
died for us
rose for us
and as result
IF
IF
we trully believe have everlasting life
THEN
we can believe and have hope
that something in our own day and time that we can witness is possible too.

I think that Paul would appreciate your story. When he first came to Jerusalem, people were afraid to meet him. I have learned to accept a person's confession of faith at face value. God cannot be fooled and the person is no more saved if he fools me. Ministry is a different thing. Even Paul was sent home for a while, until he could mature in the Lord and be tested. In the 70's there were many celebrity converts who were thrust out into the spotlight too quickly.
