James 1:22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

2Cor3:18
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit

It's easy to read the posts on here and see that most deal with information, trying to argue who is right or wrong, what is the best position, etc.

But do those things transform your life?

not looking for the lame answer "it sharpens my knowledge" usually that's to puff yourself up

I don't just want the information, I want to be different, I want to grow away from what my best thinking has gotten me in areas of my life and be conformed to His image.

I don't think most are on here to change, but to change other's minds to feel like they are converting someone ...lol

Gods word never returns to Him void but always accomplishes that to which He has purposed it.

Apart from the Holy Spirit there can be to transformation. When He the Comforter is come He will guide you into the truth for He will speak of those things He hath heard.

I love this statement and God must really be sharpening my sword because I have been at rest since layoff June 27 2013.

As far as the site changing me not so sure although it keeps me on my toes. However, as far as God changing me He has definitely been at work in my life since the layoff and He has been making leaps and bounds in my life as changes I tried to make without Him was not happening but with Him even I am seeing progress in my life. Only through God's help though for sure.

A doer of the word is one who's faith is placed in the work of the cross

We are being transformed into His Image by the Holy Spirit as the cross as the means.

The problem that millions have is that faith is placed in something else other than cross and it usually something they do themselves, such as keeping food laws, wearing prayer shawls, forty days of purpose, water baptism, going to church, giving money, fasting, reading more and praying more, blowing trumpets, teaching Sunday School and the list goes on and on and churches are continually coming up with new fads and it hurting all of Christendom.

Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto him as righteousness. Jesus said "Abraham saw my day and rejoiced and was glad". Abraham believed in the cross and that his son would provide the lineage for the Messiah to come and give Himself as the ultimate sacrifice.

I don't enjoy arguing doctrines, but I do enjoy sharing the meaning and defending the cross and the work done there on.

This is an always needful reminder of who we each should be, members of the actual Body of Christ.
Sometimes we teach what is true without reinforcing it with other truths to be taught. No one will ever be Jesus except Jesus Christ, but all may be as much as He is is given him. Some indivicuals will be spectacular and stand out, while others will be led to a life of meditation and prayer. Some will evangelize, others will help the downtroden and destitute.. Some will serve by simply waiting on the Lord. Being like Jesus byi mere creatures does not imply we must be of world reknown, for we alrealdy are because of the Heas of our Body. This is not an excuse to do nothing, but it is an excuse for those humble brethren who serve quietly in the manner given each. We all work for the same Boss, and He loves each of us the very same, incredible as this may seem...........

I began being transformed as I 'took in' Christ's presence (drank of it - focused on it). You become what you look at.
Literally, I began to pray the scriptures as I read them. I received - I confessed - I praised. But I interacted with Christ as I read. I learned to listen for what He would say to me as I read.

This interaction began to form a deep relationship - that transforms. It went way beyond knowledge.

I first read the Bible when saved at age 31. I was already instantly changed from one long sermon, fantastically altered according to all who knew me, yet all I knew about the Bible was relatively nothing at all compared to now. It doesn't take much Bible knowledge to get on track with God. But the more we learn, the better our journey with Him.

I got "online" at work in 1984, tasked to find ways to make a clunky miserable computer do something useful for my agency, or get rid of it. Someone "out there" began a habit of posting a single scripture in all amber colored characters. I spent a year occasionally trying to do that back. One day instructions to connect computers came on screen, along with phone numbers to call to get or give tips for that. Seeing someone "out there" doing that with scriptures got me more into the Bible, reading one chapter a day even if home sick. Eventually at work a little conversation would break out among people in my field, some of it work related, but also Christian talk. How novel! It was a topic virtually never brought up at church except by the pastor and teachers making a whole lesson out of one Bible story. Men just didn't get together to discuss Bible or politics, else a fight might happen, or friends lost, enemies made. Men still don't. In the 80's I began uying the series of Timex Sinclair computers for home to keep trying to connect to the world.

By 2000 I was member of several online "user groups" with IP addresses. Then the Christian talk took a big turn. I began getting emails from pastors telling me they have been inspired to return to ministry, thank you for helping me! Very often people reported "on the side" they are being changed by the challenges of Bible discussions online. I began to realize how much I had grown, too, and had given up TV and movies to make time for even more Bible study. So for me it has been reading more led to talking it more to living it more to reading it more to talking it more, to.....always volunteering to help some sort of ministry come face to face with hurting people. That multiplied my spiritual growth immensely.

I highly recommend staying tuned in to Christian chats, studying the Bible, chase down any confusing doctrine and solve it for yourself, and bringing the life of it into our daily walk, interacting with other people and promoting Christ to anyone that will listen.

After I was saved, by the Holy Spirit, I fell in love with the bible. I read it as much as I could fit in a day. I began to grow and understand things better than before. But I have to admit, by listening to certain preachers and following what they said, I began to do things that were not approved of by God. I meant not every preacher out there is trying to help you and some but just know any better their just repeating what they have been taught and most have been taught psychology. Anyways, I became a drunk and loving God and crying to God and asking why He would not help me.

Then in His word, I found the meaning of the cross as Paul so eloquently puts it. Then I was delivered from that sin.

So keep reading and keep learning and most of all keep praying, that's what I and the rest of us are doing or are trying to do and stay focused on the work of the cross and not some preachers fad. Praise God.
