You know how it is right? To know the hunger and the thirst to know God more to feel the emptiness inside you that craves to be filled with him to crave with every fiber of your being to know him much more. A heart that truly is for the Lord is always hungry for more, its a blessing and a curse because while its truly a precious thing to have such a hunger sometimes the hunger is so intense that you simply can't stand it, you feel like your gonna explode if he doesn't reveal more of himself to you.

Boy do I know that feeling, i know what it feels like to be starving like literally as if you have not eaten for days because that was most of my child hood. But this spiritual hunger to know God much more to love him much more to have much more of him inside you- its so intense I actually feel it as if I haven't eaten for a long time. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? have you felt that hunger? that thirst for him that seems to never be quenched? I think perhaps because of this hunger and thirst I have sought after his heart exhaustively and he revealed much of his heart to me, yet the thing is even if I spent the next 70 years getting to know him more than most people could dream I still would never have even made a small dent in to who he is and do you know why? because he is ever lasting, that heart of his is endless. believe me I have spent many nights just imagining myself diving into that sea of a heart of his and as I keep sinking I see and learn and know so much of him but yet its a vast and endless sea.

But maybe that is why he is so amazing, we will spend eternity with him and even in this eternity we could never fully know him so we can spend every day for all eternity getting to know him. Idk about you but that right there is truly an amazing heaven

Matt 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

how's that for a Promise, sweetheart? :)

of course, there's only One Righteousness worthy of the name, and that is Christ's. ♥

now, in part, and just as you said, when we go Home, fully.

another of my favorites from one of my favorite books...

Is 55:1
Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Glad to hear these type of expressions of hunger for The One you Love.
Love does that to a person. We see so many love stories and all that a person will do to pursue and then do for the one that they love so very much and see such stories and think it's wonderful - but that 'pursuit of God' [a Tozer's book title as well] -- is not as common for us to hear of extra-ordinary pursuits as back when.
He's found in His Word and besides prayer, I do believe with all of my heart, that's where He tells of Himself and speaks to us personally as well. Some don't understand how anyone could spend 16 hrs a day on a Bible Program on their computer and still wish they had more hours in the day to continue on it. Or why they don't spend their time doing what everyone else is doing. Or how some men of God have spent so many hours in prayer on a daily basis with their Bible open in front of them. I've read a few good books from the old classics on The Song of Solomon and those men of old had knowledge & experience on this topic. I love the old classics because they lived what they wrote about. Like Hudson Taylor and so many more. That deep devotion that I see in all of their writings, seems so rare now since TV and all the other distractions have been invented. Closing oneself in alone with God for hours is something that these men & women would see as just part of the normal Christian life.

I agree with all you've said about what eternity with Him will be like -- yes, it is truly Amazing and I so look forward to the time when He'll wipe our tears away, Himself.

I just found this last week and wonder if anyone else would like it - Devotional Audios for everyday of the year
I don't bother to put it on the right date everytime - I just let it run and change the book as I feel to.

God Bless you, Brother and all here.
See you There!

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
(Eph 3:19)

To 'know' that which passes knowledge...umm too much for me...and it is the love of Christ to boot. I fold.

My friend I haven't even begun to express the love and hunger I have for him, Just wait until I moved by the spirit and pour my heart out.

I have had a hard time telling people I love them and a harder time telling God I love Him as He has said if you love Me keep my commandments and I fall so far short of that request.

But I am learning to love again people and God and it is a wonderful thing to have pushed so many away and learning to let go and love. Both tourist and God have been working on me to learn to love again and I had a good run of 35 years worth of resistance to both God and man...Walls are being broken and love is pouring through.

I believe you are further along than the accuser-of-the-brethren would like you to know.

Yes is an unquenchable thirst and a hunger one cannot satisfy. I am confused when I meet lukewarm Christians and don't understand why they don't have that thirst. I think most here on CC have it - or why would they be here? It's another way to try to satisfy that thirst. I'm at my happiest when I am enthusing about Jesus with fellow Christians over a nice meal or a drink - true fellowship.

The thirst or hunger we feel is only ever going to be truly satisfied when we are in our rightful place, united with the object of our affections - Jesus.

it was tozer who once prayed,God your omnipresence makes all ground holy.
Another old hymn says, nothing in my hands I bring, simply to the cross I cling.
Something funny about seeking God,he satisfies and yet we get hungry for more. When we seek him we find him! N all the besetting sins, weakness will seem so small n we will overcome.
anyways hi psychomom!
