Gen. 22:1- God did tempt Abraham -Gen. 22:1- And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham" vs James 1:13 - Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.

Is there a problem here or just a lack of understanding that someone can help me understand!

In Hebrew and Greek there is no separate words for temptation and testing. Context must be used. In context, Abraham was tested while God does not tempt (i.e. with evil).
