Not always, He is sovereign.
At least I have not seen any Scripture saying it is.
Our healing will become complete when we receive our new bodies.

Is this true?

Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

There comes a time when God does not heal, else people would live several thousand years.

What is God's purpose for this life? To build holy, righteous character in us. Sometimes He looks ahead and says it is better for us to go through health issue and perhaps even die now because He plans to use it to prepare us for eternity.

No it isn't.

My mom faithful to God her whole life died of a stroke in 2011. She had arthritis way bad then emphazima then lung transplant. Now I have the arthritis way bad to the point of filing for disability. I have total faith that if God wanted to heal me he could. I also have total faith that if God didn't heal me He has a reason. God is Sovereign over everything so I trust Him that there is a reason, If nothing but so others can see my faith in God through me.

To interpret God we must look to Jesus.
Except in his own home town of Nazareth, Jesus healed everyone who needed healed and came to him for healing.

The question is not if healing is God's will because it it is his will that all be healed, because if we look at Jesus we see that all were healed, except those in his home town. The question should be what is God's will and purpose for you as you walk through sickness or disease.

My own Father and mother battled serious disease issues. My Mother had stage 4 liver cancer for 4 years, before she was promoted to glory this past May, she never needed chemo, she still took certain medications, she was not sickly and was able to move around , drive to church, taught children church and did everything God directed her to do, you could not tell any outward signs she lived with stage 4 liver cancer and that her liver had actually shut down. This included mission trips to orphanages around the world to bring the Gospel to children and the workers in those orphanages. SHe was also used by the Holy Spirit in the gifts of healing children and miracles for children for the 4 years she had her own disease. He pastors and church family and friends knew all about her disease. Yet God was getting glory through her disease. Mom confessed the word over herself and claimed her own healing every day. She never doubted God was healing her.

In early April of this year, the disease process ravaged her and we had to admit her to the hospital. By early May my brother and I had peace knowing God was going to promote her, more importantly Mom did to.

Mom had been completely unresponsive for about 5 days and her body was not eating and shutting down and the decision was made to transfer to a hospice. 2 days before God promoted her, it was discovered she had been walking around one night, in perfect health and talking and sharing Jesus and leading people to Jesus who were there for their own dying family members.

12 people came to Jesus that early morning, including 3 doctors and 3 nurses. When Mom went back to her room, she become unresponsive until a few minutes before her promotion and we gave her a send off.

God does not work in mysterious ways, he works his perfect will through the earth, through imperfect humans, who obey his voice.

It's always God's will to heal our souls honey.
In fact, the Greek words for "heal" and "save" are the same word :)
He always will do what He says.
But if you bonked your head or something you should probably go to the doctor.

John,
Stop using over the top propaganda to support your theology. This is simply not even remotely true.

So are you saying its not God will to heal? The Bible says by his stripes we are healed. Is it always Gods will to save the sinner? Well he died for our sins and our healing. If its not his will to heal then why did Jesus heal all that came to him?

Healing of our heart is different than healing of our physical bodies.

Once we give our lives to Christ the healing of our spirit begins (sanctification). This can only be accomplished by the Holy Spirit.

As far as our bodies well that's different.

"By His stripes we are healed" is about our salvation not our bodies.

Sure, if you isolate that scripture, Isaiah 53, it sounds like physical healing. But read it in context and there is not one indication of physical healing or ailments mentioned in that chapter. So is it more likely that God randomly threw in a line about physical healing, or that people isolate and take that verse out of context because it sounds better that way?

It CAN be Gods will to heal. But this is not to say all will be healed. Don't believe me? Look around. There are Christians all over with health issues. Even some very solid, well reputed Christians still battle physical problems. Yet they go their entire lives never being healed.

Jesus did a lot of things when he was on earth. We only see a fraction of things taking place that he performed. And some things he did are extremely rare to see. Sure, we hear stories that can never be verified, that take place all the time in other countries. And sure, sometimes we know someone who is healed of something. But have you ever raised the dead yourself? Healed a blind person? Caused a limb to grow back before your eyes? How many trustworthy people do you know who have?

The reality is, not many Christians are physically healed. And it's not only luke-warm Christians or whatever excuse likes to be thrown out there. Fact is is that it is just not that common.

God sees much more than we do. SOMETOMES He does not heal for very good reasons. We may not understand them but so? Who are we to even question?

Actually, I am not sure I would say not many. Most that I know personally have been healed at one time or another, yet they may have another health issue that is not healed. Again, who are we to question God?

Let me break this to you gently, there will come a time when you are going to die. If God healed everything, everytime, we would have eternal life in the flesh. T'ain't gonna happen.

Good grief, what I said was that God doesn't always heal. Sometimes He allows a sickness to go on.
You may have gone over my head with your post.Too early in the morning.

Kaylagrl, God does always heal sometimes its instant sometimes it takes years or sometimes he heals by taking us home.
But another thing to ponder, if we pray for say our grandmother or mom to be healed of their sickness God may say I will heal her but its not her body that needs healing the most its her heart.

Sometimes we are given sickness for God's glory, and we also have to remember that what we want and what we need are two very different things. Sometimes we want healing but that isn't what we need and he loves us so much that he chooses to give us what we need not always what we want

One's healing does not lie in their faithfulness to God but God's faithfulness to His word. I, we, need to go to a place of "If its His will" to "It is His will" because there in lies the problem. If we don't know if our heavenly Father who loves us so very much wants to heal us, what does that say about God? It has nothing to do with sovereignty and everything to do with His love and Jesus. God in His mercy may heal you based upon your hope that He will heal you, but you can also go and embrace His grace and see that He already has healed you in Jesus Christ.

One is certain and another is a hope that God will just do it. One says it is done and the other says, "It can be done." One accepts what Christ's beating has accomplished on their behalf and for their mortal bodies and the other bases their healing in the hope that God will do it regardless of their acceptance of what Christ has accomplished on their behalf. Neither is wrong, but one of them has a higher yield. While one is based in chance, the other is not. It is based upon the actions of Jesus thousands of years ago.

So while our faith may say that I believe God heals today, it is another matter to say that I believe God has healed me (past tense). You have to speak life, speak and echo what God says about you. If He has said that by His stripes you are healed, then echo it. Say what God says about you. I am healed, in Jesus name (for by His stripes I am healed). We can hope for healing, indeed I do. But we must go from a place of hope into faith if we wish for a more certain answer and manifestation to our desire to be healed. I am not saying your hope is in vain because God honors such hope because He sees you rely upon Him. However, faith takes grasp of the healing while hope is more passive.

This by no means is meant to offend or question your faith; it is more along the lines of redirecting the faith. You have the faith, it only needs to be aimed at the right source. Jesus.

He didn't say God doesn't heal. He said "there is a time when God doesn't heal."
