Yeah, but I type really fast and it is natural for me. :D

I feel my thoughts can be conveyed very quickly and naturally with typing (Which I am so grateful to the Lord that I took typing class way back in high school).

Note to MB: If you haven't done so already, or if you don't type fast, please pick up a typing class (if one is available at your school). So worth it in the long run (Well, that is if you plan to have a computer or digital tablet with a blu tooth keyboard or something in your future).
I dictate notes using iphone Siri when reading inet chat posts. I can review and pick out the ones to reply to that I have time for. I haven't figured out how to transfer that text to this chat forum except read and type it. It would be really nice to do it directly, both for CChat and daily business replies. The current method leaves me sometimes dozens of posts behind, further hindering involvement. It would be so good to be back as a student with lots of time to study, and having just 8 hours a day committed to an employer.

Use time wisely, MB, and everyone. Never waste it!

I type slow one finger lol never took typing way back when. I use my phone for this so you can imagine how slowly I type here. Lol

I am not the best with this technology stuff either so...
Give me a hammer, drill, screws, nails and wood I can work with that stuff.

Blu tooth? Why would I want a blue tooth? Lol

Seriously though some great study ideas so far from everyone. I hope all this helps MB or anyone else looking to study God's Word.

As for another Bible Study tip:

Well, I would also pray for discernment again after hearing various teachers. I even encourage people to check out the Scriptures on anything that I say in God's Word and to then pray over it. For I am not interested in my Truth; But God's Truth. I am not perfect and nobody is else is. Only Jesus Christ is perfect and and only the Spirit can lead a person into all truth. So my encouragement is to squeeze every resource that is available to you (But yet also on the other hand, be cautious in what people say or teach, too). In other words, seek, seek, seek, and pray, pray, pray; And then research like crazy. Truth takes time (In studying God's Word diligently). Sometimes what you think you know will be changed later on (By the leading of the Spirit). It's not an overnight process.
AMEN to that. I went from a B.S. to going after a minor in southern baptist theology later, then ended up in Assemblies of God and more college time, and still ended up with never ending Bible research on my own. Those schools taught me to question, to verify, to reject I knew was flawed. At least they made me realize I was not called to pastor a church, so I spent my working years in natural science fields and taught Bible whenever possible, and preach some as a relief, in several denomincations and non-denominational churches. All that really matters is how much Bible do you feed on daily, and how much do you listen to the Lord mull it over with you. I can't count the times I came across a wonderful sermon or lesson to give, only to be told it was for me alone, verified by being replaced by some other speaker the very next day. Sometimes a singing trio would show up unexpectedly. Lessons in humility! It all keeps coming back to how you spend time with the Lord. It begins daily reading the word. Read your Bible through like a novel at least once a year. That will give you direction as to what areas to focus on. Then from that comes more areas to focus on. It will turn out the areas of focus were to make you grow in Christ rather than discover some new or entertaining doctrine for others to Oooo and Awww at. Desire what ministers to you, MB, then you will have power to minister to others, growing with them.

My 9 year old granddaughter just told me to Bluetooth it just by letting the laptop catch my Iphone stuff, like catching someone's cold. Then I am supposed to "Cloud" it, then I can share it. Good grief Charlie Brown. 9 years old..... OK, I have a teacher tonight till her mommy gets here from work. God bless you all.

Bible study tip: Who wrote it? (Moses, Paul, Ezra) To whom was it written? (Jew, Gentile, Church) When was it written? (OT/NT) Why was it written? (Historical, Poetry, Doctrine, Phophecy). I see nothing wrong with interlinnear and using Strong's. We have a good Teacher and if we ask He will lead us into all wisdom.

Also keep an open mind, one cannot learn if they think they already know all the answers. :)

I know how you feel. While I was always into using computers, I was one of the last hold outs in owning a cell phone. I bought my first cell phone about appx. 2 years ago, (Which was a Galaxy Note 2 - Smart Phone - that has now become slightly dumb). I have spent many hours texting, and I still struggle to type on my smartphone when catting with my Christian fiancé from Brazil. I find it to be very cumbersome and unnatural to text. I tried hooking my blu tooth keyboard to my phone, but for some reason it doesn't like switching between my Ipad and back again. For I got it to work once, but after that it was like... no can do.

As you might know, blu tooth is just a device that has a wireless system. My keyboard has no cords. It syncs with my Ipad as soon as I punch my keyboard button on the side several times when I boot up my Ipad. In other words, I don't have to worry about a cord. For cords are so 1980. I remember using the phones with cords on them growing up as a kid in the 80's. Good fun back then, but I wouldn't want to take a step back, though (Unless God called me to do so of course).

I see nothing wrong with using a Strong's Concordance and or a Hebrew and Greek Lexicon, too. I will occasionally look up the Hebrew or Greek word. But I also look up the origin of the English word. Compare Scripture with Scripture. Look at the context and pray. I research what other believers think about that text. Seeking and verifying the Truth by various or multiple ways. But I don't think Hebrew and Greek studies alone is a requirement to understand God's Word. I have understood God's Word many times without having to use them. For it's how I came to the faith. I heard the Word of God in my own language simply and I repented and accepted the Lord. No Hebrew or Greek was necessary for that to happen. I also don't believe the English disagrees with the Hebrew and Greek as many scholars and believers do. To me, that is corrupting (i.e. changinng) the Word of God. Strong's Concordance and Lexicons are just one of the many tools available to the believer. They are not an ultimate code key to understanding God's Word. At least that is my 2 cents worth anyways.

It is so awesome how God talks to us thru life. We can see God speak to us the same message over and over in a sermon, a video, a book, an article, a situation happening in our lives. God just seems to know what we need in our study of His Word and our spiritual walk with Him. Sometimes, the Lord will just want us to know a certain passage in a powerful way, too.

For example:

Back when I lived in Ohio: There was this baby deer that was living in my back yard once for about two weeks. It's mother would come by and feed it and then leave. However, it would make noises to it's mother at night, which would sometimes make it hard for me to sleep. So the one day, I was presented with an opportunity to get rid of this baby deer safely. So I decided to put on my black rubber work gloves and go outside in order to grab him gently and throw him over the chain link fence back into the forest where it's mother was at.

So I walked really slow and got really close to him; And just when I was about to grab him, he quickly bolted to the front of the house. This scared me a little, because I did not want the little guy getting hit by any cars in the front of the house, seeing I live on a busy street. However, when I got to the front of the house, he did not go near the traffic of the road, which was good. So he started to move back towards the back yard again. However, this time he went into the neighbor's back yard. This was perfect because they had a gate to their back yard so I could close it behind me, ensuring my capture of the little guy.

So I pinned him behind some stacked up wood behind the neighbor's shed and I grabbed him. He was kicking and screaming as I held him in my hands; And then I threw him over the chain link fence back into the forest. He landed safely on the other side of the fence; And later, I eventually seen him reunite with his mother (Which put me at ease).

However, afterwards I kept thinking to myself of how scared this baby deer was when I was holding it in my hands. I mean, it had no idea what I was going to do it. It probably thought I was trying to either eat it or hurt it in some way. In fact, I could actually feel the fear dripping off of this poor little guy.

Anyways, later that evening, when I was watching a video on "YouTube" by Chuck Missler, as per my usual routine thru out the week (back then), he told me about the following passages ...

Isaiah 13:11a - " And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity ..."

Isaiah 13:13 - "Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger."

Isaiah 13:14 - "And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land."

So I said to myself. What is a "roe"?

So I looked it up on the internet and low and behold, a roe is a baby deer! Here I was just a few hours earlier chasing a baby deer and I could feel it's fear in the fact that I was chasing it. This was a passage that God wanted to show me. He wanted to show me that the world will one day run in fear as the chased roe when God (i.e. Jesus Christ) will return to end all evil and iniquity. It was powerful!
