Two cannot walk together unless they be agreed period! And there is one central truth concerning everything found in the bible and as long as opinion, conjecture, supposition, religion and ignorance of the truth permeates society there will be no unity amongst Christian religions (so-called)!
I have a question. Just what is unity? How is it achieved and by what spiritual entity is it achieved? Is it by knowledge? Or by patience, Love, ect. To me unity is because of the Holy Spirit dwelling in a child of the father.Unity is achieved by being members of Christs body through the indwelling Spirit. We are made one family, regardless of knowledge or maturity, even differance of non heretical doctrine. All can be covered by love if we are children of god , brother and sisters. This is one thing. The other is,are we different by our nature? Not born of God. Come out from among them and touch not an unclean thing. Or what agreement has light and darkness? It is the Holy Spirit that gives us unity.Regardless of our maturity or understanding. Whether you are a babe or aged in the lord. If we look to the Spirit and keep our eyes single, we will see the Spirit in others of our kind and automatically feel the deep down connection of family and unity.Debate and searching the scripture together will not cause disunity, But edification, learning, and spiritual progress.Sometimes the lord will correct us or chastise us because he loves us. And sometimes this will come by way of a bro or sister, if that is their calling. But many prideful will assume this is their mission from God and cause devilish division. WE should always remember the admonition to be Quick to here ,slow to speak, and slow to wrath. And remember the fallen work of the enemy concerning Pride.

Would like to encourage you to read post #61 as there are several Bible verses talking about the unity I am trying to promote here on this thread. Blessings to you and your walk with Jesus.

Love and truth go hand in hand........you cannot have one without the other for sure......!
I am promoting the entire Bible which is the truth of God, love and unity among the people/followers of Jesus it all goes together and we are encouraged in the Bible to have unity with the brethren.....love, truth and unity all goes together. By their fruits you shall know them.

Yes I agree and know it also states that if it is possible be at peace among yourselves.....I agree that unity among God's true people is the proof in the (pudding) if you will.....and my point with love and truth is the simple fact that without both there will be no unity....we cannot compromise the truth for the sake of love as love demands the truth....unity cannot come unless we love based upon truth is the point I was trying to make......sorry if I didn't come across that way as I am a little jet lagged from a flight back from Australia which took like 27 hours hahahh!

Sorry I missed this thread earlier.

"Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, [SUP]4 [/SUP]and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, [SUP]5 [/SUP]and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." Romans 5:3-5

Can I get an amen, for mature character, produced through suffering? That is the goal of our walk with Christ in the New Testament - Christ uses every situation and circumstance to hone our character into maturity. (And thus, unity in the body!)

We, as the body of Christ, are all (as born again believers) united to the Head through His Spirit and Blood; as we hold to our Head, Christ, He grants us peace with each other.

John 1v14: "And the Word became flesh, and did tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, glory as of an only begotten of a father, full of grace and truth." (YLT)

Phil 2v5-11: "Let the same disposition, attitude, purpose and mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who existed in the essential form of God, having always been God by nature. He did not deem His own equality with God a prize to be clung to, but emptied Himself and became like other men, taking upon Him the form of a slave, and became obedient unto death upon the cross for our salvation. Because of this astounding sacrificial love God has highly exalted Him and given Him a Name which is above every name, and that at His Name every knee is going to bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Yahweh to the glory of the Father." (paraphrase)

Psalms 146:1-3 Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

There is also unity in DisneyLand. Many are subscribing to a DisneyLand Salvation. I accepted Christ, now everything is great, and your life should be like mine. Actually this is what America has been doing and subscribing to for years. Also, carrying the cross will come to divide many people, the chaff from the wheat. The NWO and a false sense of peace are very dangerous.
I get what you are saying too. Life on this earth is not fair and we don't always get what we want and it appears that people doing wrong seem to have a better life than Christians do. It appears they have it all, but then they don't really and in the end destruction is what awaits them if they have not given their lives over to God and the gift of salvation that Jesus offers.

I mean look at Job's life it was good then really bad and unfair from all appearances but then it got really good again. Maybe some of us don't see a reward until heaven and that is where we are directed to lay up our treasure anyway is in heaven and also we are encouraged not to get weary of doing good for in due time we will receive our reward which again would be in heaven.

I don't know why it is that some seem to have it better than others here on earth, but I do know that God is in the saving and character building business. He wants to save us first and then develop the character He knows we are capable of being. However, Jesus Himself prayed that we all would become one as He and the Father are one. Can't get more united than that.

Can we agree that we need to share the love of Jesus with those around us and help spread the Gospel message so that others may find Jesus and accept His sacrifice for us?
