So if Christmas was called another name and celebrated in Sept you'd be ok with that?
Yes, as long as they don't drag their santa guy into it too and we didn't have to buy gifts when we're broke. :D

I have to go to my brother's home with the family so I go along so that they don't say that Christians are ______ . Can't think of the right words right now.

But since it's their holiday - I just use it as the only time of year that I can send out the Gospel in Cards and say His Name to them.

We all are doing the best that we can, under the circumstances.

This link explains a portion of the study of what is believed to have been the Star of Bethlehem and claims it "stopped" on Dec 25, 2 B.C.
The Star of Bethlehem | To stop a star

Also, the "x" in xmas could be looked upon as the aleph, which, for reasons I won't expound in detail, I believe is the "mark" of God (as opposed to the mark of the beast)

I think it's dumb that people gets offended whenever someone says Merry Christmas. I mean nobody got offended in the 18 and 1900s why now?...

I say Merry Christmas, I don't even think about it. I still call a Christmas tree a Christmas tree, unlike those in Washington DC who now call it Holiday tree so they don't offend anyone. Well if you're not a Christian then you shouldn't celebrate Christmas. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Washington.

I say merry Christmas and refuse to shop at store that say happy holidays. I'll pay five buck more for an item when the clerk say's merry Christmas. If we all did that, guess what. But I know most are looking for the best deal, but what is the best deal. Happy kwansi or Merry Christmas?

I don't get why atheists kick up a fuss about Christmas yet remain silent at Halloween.

Ive always loved Christmas time, for different reasons than you maybe, but I still love that time of year.

I like the sound of 'Merry Christmas' myself, but some have told me that I should say 'Joyful Christmas'. I believe that they associate merry-ness with being drunk.

I was going to give everyone here a present, but since no one here celebrates Christmas back they all go to the shops. :)

I heard on the news last night that a school in the south has taken ALL names of holidays off the calendar so as not to offend a handful of Muslims that want their religious holidays off. This is what upsets me. To keep from offending a few we change Christmas and Easter so we can be PC. Like Dr Ben Carson said this PC junk is ruining America. Nonsense!! There's my rant for the day. :p

Should offensive adjectives like "pagans-unbelievers", "homosexuals", etc be also removed to avoid upsetting others on earth?

Yes isn't funny that atheists that are against Christmas dont mind the vacation time.
I also enjoyed the food and those vacations I had in school days but, did Christ asked to believe in Him or in x-mas season or the way it is celebrated?

:p

This is for those who celebrate Christmas. This debate has gone on for the past few years.I always say Merry Christmas but some stores have told employees to stop saying "Merry Christmas".I say it to them either way and usually get it back. Some have boycotted stores that wont say "Merry Christmas".I'm guessing folks dont know holidays is a blending of holy days. So which do you say? And does it matter to you if a store doesn't say Merry Christmas.Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the subject. Also how do you feel about the xmas abbreviation?

e
I liked X-mas to save time, just that. No offence on that?

In Spanish, "mas" means "more." So Christmas could be interpreted as "more Christ".

Actually, it is first letter in the Greek noun Χριστὸν - Christ. It is used as an acronym.

So you keep the Jewish holy days. Are you Jewish if you dont mind me asking.
I said I was going to butt out, but I can't resist this...

Lev 23:1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Lev 23:2 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'The feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.
Lev 23:3 'Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
Lev 23:4 'These are the feasts of the LORD, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times.

Now if your Bible says...

Lev 23:1 And the Jews spoke to Moses, saying,
Lev 23:2 "Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: 'The feasts of the Jews, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are the Jews' feasts.
Lev 23:3 'Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Jews in all your dwellings.
Lev 23:4 'These are the feasts of the Jews, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times.

return it and get your money back, it contains misprints.
