Many christians believe that it is a sin to pray that God destroy their enemies or in other word to kill them

I am of the view there are times when you must pray against your enemies that God will destroy them from the face of the earth or get them sick etc

What sayesth thou CC ?

I distinctly remember Jesus, the Prince of Peace, commanding His followers to LOVE their enemies and to pray for those who persecute them. Our great, mighty Warrior King will return in the future to judge accordingly. For now, we're to just stand for His truth and to love everyone.

There are times when you must pray that God will take away your anger, and accept that vindication will be paid in full on the Last Day.

Let God be Judge, and pray FOR (not against) your enemies, that they would repent and turn to Christ.

This seems to imply that you think God is less likely to act without your personal intervention.

Makes one pine for the days of the "Who Killed Goliath?" thread. As to the OP, even if it were appropriate to pray this obscene and angry prayer with you, is it certain that would be in our best interests? Is it now "vengeance is ELECT's, saith the Lord?"

Where do they come from...

Is it right that you pray that they get sick ?
No it isn't right at all, we are called to love nothing else. if you want to pray that your enemies get sick then that's your problem but don't expect God to answer, however the devil might.

I would rather pray that God would save my enemies. Then they would be my brothers and sisters in Christ.

"You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ [SUP]44 [/SUP]But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, [SUP]45 [/SUP]so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." Matt 5:43-45

How readesth Thou ?

Was Judus forgiven ?
Luke 18:1-8King James Version (KJV)

18 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Sorry I don't use scripture to prove a point, scripture is very sacred and holy and I will not use it to prove my point. If you want the proof you seek read the gospels and see how Jesus acted and reacted to his enemies who crucified him

thats makes no sense because the word is to be used to prove what is true if what you say is true then the bible would say so but you are not able too

what is the purpose of the pslams ?

It's not that I am unable there are plenty of scriptures to use in fact there is one scripture in the bible that disproves your whole thing but if you don't know then maybe read the gospels again. it doesn't make sense to you and that's fine but I don't use scripture like you do i use to help others not prove i am right and you are wrong.
