My best friend is Jewish and I told her that there are a lot prophecies in the old testament that talk about jesus. She was really surprised and didn't know, and she said she's open to hear them. I think this would be a good opportunity to maybe show her jesus is really the messiah and who he says he really is, and hopefully she accepts him. I need help though. Can someone help me with getting together all the prophecies that he fulfilled, please? and explaining them, in case she doesn't understand. to be honest i don't understand, or rather, i have a hard time explaining some of them. i know there's quiet a bit, but help would be appreciated. i want to save her and show her what joy she can have by accepting jesus :) also i'll learn along the way too if someone would be kind enough to teach/explain some of the prophecies. THANK YOU :D

Enoch did not ascend to heaven. If he did, Christ lied...

Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

So then some of the things on that site are wrong, i'm guessing. no wonder why i was confused. is there a site that gives all correct prophecies? i don't know where to look.

Sophia,

true and honest seeking of what is Holy and Righteous is a
great endeavor, if pursued in sincerity.

when and if we are given the desire to reject all that is unholy,
and have the desire to seek that which is Truth with all due respect
given to our Father's written Word, then He tells us that He does not
refuse wisdom to those who seek in Spirit and Truth.

even great men of God will tell you that they make mistakes,
so to search for that 100% accuracy in the various interpretation of Scripture
can lead to faith in a man and not in God The Father.

there's nothing wrong in reading commentary or other views, but it
must be done with all caution.

Faith is the key, which only God can grant to us, so, we would say to you,
search the scriptures to find the answers you are seeking, and when you
use that Faith that has been granted, truths will be revealed, here a little,
there a little.

So many times, the scriptures answer the question that you are asking,
such as in; John, when it says,' and the scripture was fulfilled,
not one of His bones shall be broken.'
multiple times this formula is used so that it gives you the ability
to confirm what is written, and it leaves you in a state of having
NO DOUBT but having the TRUTH in your heart and hand.

Read through Matthew. I know that the NASB writes words from the Old Testament in ALL CAPS. If you have a study bible, it should reference the places (or some of them) where these verses can be found.

You can also go to biblegateway.com and enter Isaiah (or prophet) and scroll through multiple verses in the New Testament that mention Isaiah, Joel, "the prophet", etc.

Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Jesus's point here is that the only man that has the power to ascend to Heaven is the One who came (descended) from Heaven.

Enoch & Elijah went to Heaven, but not by their own authority or power. Enoch was taken; Elijah left in a chariot of fire. Both were by the will of God, not their own power.

When checking the context, Moses, Hebrews and Jesus told the truth.

I agree with you. Enoch and Elijah were taken to heaven by the power of God. Jesus ascended to heaven. He is God.

Maybe this will help to distill the issue a bit. Here are seventeen of the most striking prophecies of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament, with a couple of the New Testament which Jesus, Himself, made. It's always been a mystery to me, though, why Jewish scholars of the Old Testament don't all see Jesus there? Spiritual blindness is such a strange thing, will make people not recognize the nose on their faces!

1. Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey:

Given: Zechariah 9:9…..fulfilled: Matthew 21:5-7

2. Jesus betrayed by a friend:

Given: Psalm 41:9…..fulfilled: Mark 14:17-18

3. Jesus betrayed for 30 pieces of silver:

Given: Zechariah 11:12…..fulfilled: Matthew 26:14

4. 30 pieces of silver to be used for the “Potter’s Field”:

Given: Zechariah 11:13…..fulfilled: Matthew 27:3-5

5. Jesus accused by false witness:

Given: Psalm 109:2…..fulfilled: Matthew 26:59-60

6. Jesus stood silent before His accusers:

Given: Isaiah 53:7…..fulfilled: Matthew 27:12

7. Jesus beaten and whipped:

Given: Isaiah 50:6…..fulfilled: Matthew 27:26

8. Jesus hands and feet pierced:

Given: Psalm 22:16…..fulfilled: John 19:37; 20:27

9. Peter’s denial of Jesus:

Given: Mark 14:30…..fulfilled: Mark 14:66-72

10. Jesus garments divided:

Given: Psalm 22:18…..fulfilled: John 19:23

11. Jesus mocked as He died:

Given: Psalm 22:7-8…..fulfilled: Matthew 27:39-40

12. Jesus cried out to God at the cross:

Given: Psalm 22:1…..fulfilled: Matthew 27:46

13. Jesus offered vinegar on the cross:

Given: Psalm 69:21…..fulfilled: John 19:28

14. Jesus bones not broken on the cross:

Given: Psalm 34:20…..fulfilled: John 19:32-33

15. Darkness would cover the earth while Christ crucified:

Given: Amos 8:9…..fulfilled: Matthew 27:45

16. Jesus burial in a rich man’s grave:

Given: Isaiah: 53:9…..fulfilled: Matthew 27:57-60

17. Jesus resurrected in 3 days:

Given: John 2:19-21…..fulfilled: Acts 10:40

Also, the main point, nobody has come down from the Father in heaven, to reveal God to men on earth, except for Jesus Chris, the Son: no man went to heaven and came back to reveal God. This is a statement of His divine origin and authority, and that nobody can bring higher revelations to men, except One who actually comes down from on high, that knows and can impart these truths.

Ok, so I'm looking at this site. To make this easy we can go one by one. I dont understand #3

365 Messianic Prophecies
Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Like the rest of the Bible, it means just what it says, God, by His power, took Enoch to heaven, he did not die. But Enoch does not ascend or descend on his own. Many, for good reason, believe Enoch and Elijah will be the two witnesses of Revelation.

I think it would be best to pick out a handful you feel are best so as to explain to her (If that is possible). Research which prophecies you like the best and tell her about them personally.

There are also Types or Typifications of Christ within the Old Testament, too.

My favorite Types of Christ is "Jacob and Esau" and "Joseph", of which I explain here:

Types of Christ in the Old Testament.

There is also a Loose Typification (Parallel) of Jesus Christ in Genesis chapter 1, too.

I believe Scripture is clear that the two witnesses are Moses and Elijah.

You can check out some of my reasoning with Scripture as to why I believe that here.

Besides, Elijah didn't go to the third heaven (i.e. God's Kingdom), but the first heaven (i.e. the atmosphere in the clouds). This lines up with the real life story of Philip and the Ethiopian Enuch. Philip was talking to this Ethiopian in his chariot and later Philip was caught up by the Spirit into another location. A similar thing happened with Elijah. Elijah was taken up in a whirlwind when the chariot of fire with horses appeared. Elijah was merely taken away to another location. For Scripture testifes of him still being on Earth.

I have seen all sides of this. This is what you believe, yes, but this IS NOT clear in scripture. You shouldn't call anything clear in scripture that has been disputed down the ages by scholars.

Isaiah 11:1 A shoot (Stem, tender branch that sprouted the first fruit and which it was referring to a woman, Mary) will come up from the stump of Jesse (Since David a descendant of Jesse and all those that had came after are descendants as well, the branch has been cut off, but a stem branched from that stump appeared to keep the lineage of David from perishing with the rest of the branches) ; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit (Referring to Jesus the first good fruit that was brought forth from the old covenant.).

God has remember David, because he was the only one that had humbled himself, the others had tried to resist from God's will being done. Saul tried to kill David and which that he was resisting what God had commanded David to be king. But David just laid down and beg for mercy.

2 Samuel 12:22 He answered, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, ‘Who knows? The Lord may be gracious to me and let the child live.’ 23 But now that he is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.” ( He didn't cursed God by rebelling, he just left it as it is, as Job had done, by saying ,"Naked I had came, and naked I shall go).

People dispute whether Jesus Christ is God. Doesn't mean that fact or reality is not clear, my friend. Spiritual knowledge or understanding is given to those who are honestly seeking God and His truth. Truth is discovered in prayer and in comparing Scripture with Scripture. For we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15). We are to do our own homework honestly in seeking God's Truth, rather than own version of it. It is about being humble and desiring to seek what God really says (Rather than what we would want it to say). For if God knows we are out to glorify Him and His truth (By how we walk with Him), rather than trusting in ourselves, then God is going to help that person to see and guide them into all truth.

I remember a Christian saying I was going to be a great minister and do great things for God. While I appreciated his blessing and love him so much as a brother deeply by his loving and kind words. The idea of me thinking I have to be great is not what I desire. What I desire is to uplift Jesus Christ and His Word and not myself. In other words, I believe Christians who discover the truth of God's Word do not seek to uplift themselves, but they seek to uplift Jesus Christ.

Muslims are difficult to witness to for sure:

Here are OT scriptures below that you can begin with .... but make sure you read them and understand them first

I will help you with any

When you start your witness, know that it is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself who is the Author of all scripture [John 1:1-14]

When you read a prophet's revelation it is coming from the Lord .... when He speaks and reveals a prophecy to a Bible prophet it is coming from Him ... even in the OT [2 Peter 1:16-21]

Read these scriptures and keep in mind when you are witnessing to a Muslim that if they do understand their religion to some extent, they have been deceived [brainwashed to a large degree] and that the Koran is a corruption of your Bible that was altered by Mohammed the false prophet

When it comes to the nation of Israel, which is the central subject of the prophecies .... the Muslims hate and want to destroy the tiny nation .... they think that the promises to Israel through Issac and Jacob belong to them through Ishmael and Esau .... this is not true

When you read "the word of the Lord" came to a prophet .... it is Jesus Christ who is speaking

First know this [Genesis 15:18] ... this promise still holds to this very day [the Muslims do not believe it]

The Bible prophets foretell both near term events in their day that have already been fulfilled with 100% accuracy.... and long term future events yet to be fulfilled even today which will also be fulfilled with 100% accuracy

These events are future and still pending today [all relate specifically to Israel and the nations enemies .... the Muslims]:

[Psalms 83; Isaiah 11; Jeremiah 30; 31:31-37; Ezekiel 38; 39; Daniel 9; Joel 2; 3; Micah 4; 5; Zechariah 12; 14; Matthew 24; Luke 21:20-36; Romans 11; Revelation 12]

There is a former Muslim terrorist, now a Christian, who is a very effective witness to his Muslim brothers that you might source

His name is Walid Shoebat and you can find him on the Internet .... he has a powerful testimony to the Muslims

He is a marked man so there are those who do not like him because he uncovers the Muslim religion for what it is .... and many of professing Christianity the same because they follow replacement theology [the Idea that the Lord is finished with Israel today and that their "church" following is "Israel" .... this is not true]

So the Muslims and even some of the professing "church" do not like Walid and scorn him

I have said this because your Jewish friend does not believe in Jesus and needs to understand the above setting

Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he (God) might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
