Something for us Christians to think about. Please pay attention to the verses I have listed below.

Have you ever looked around and watched what most of Christiandom is doing? like Where are the majority? Then read the Bible verses below if the majority is heading for destruction, then Where and who are the minority?

God says that a remnant will be left that is a small amount usually very small and Revelation tells us who they are:

Revelation 12:17
English Standard Version
Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

Matthew 7:12-14 ESV

The Golden Rule

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

The Bible also asks if there will be faith found on the earth at the end....Makes you wonder a little doesn't it? I can't speak for you but it does make me wonder......

Luke 18:8
New Living Translation
I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?"

My comment

Revelation 12:17 is a reference to that portion of Israel during the tribulation still residing in the nations .... the "woman" of Revelation 12 is Israel .... not the "church" of today

Luke 21:20-36 is primarily a focus upon national Israel during the coming tribulation so is Matthew 24 .... not the "church" of today

Luke
21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

But Revelation 3:15-19 is the apostate professing "church" .... those on the broad road [wide gate]

And you are right ..... there are 8 billion people on the earth today mostly on the broad road [wide gate]

In fact, this has been the case over the broad sweep of humanity since Genesis 6

Could also mean broad is the way of false doctrines and traditions of men that make void the word thereby screwing your walk with Christ all to pieces.

Wonder if there are no responses due to the fact that most are on the broad way? Possibly don't recognize there is a narrow way?

John 6:35

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 8:12

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 10:9

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.

John 11:25-26

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”

John 14:16

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 15:5

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

Seems pretty clear to me.

No I don't think it means that at all. If someone has something to say they will say it.

It is God's answer to ecumenicism.

The World teaches there are many paths to God; and God describes them all as the broad path to destruction.

Jesus says: Jn 14:6
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
KJV

Jesus is the narrow gate.

See what most of Christiandom has done is place doctrines, the types of bibles, etc etc etc ABOVE God. Not to say doctrine or scripture or some of these are NOT important.

That passage from Matthew contains this also, which SHOULD be a VERY,VERY stern warning

Matthew 7

[SUP]21 [/SUP]“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. [SUP]22 [/SUP]Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ [SUP]23 [/SUP]Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Our doctrines, bible or any of the other STUFF will not and CAN NOT save us. We are save by the Father THROUGH Jesus Christ ALONE.

I think the "broad way" is the almost universal propensity we humans have for never really "repenting". By that, I mean "repenting" as the Bible expresses it, not as we have made it.

I feel that if we hang onto worldly views, attitude, responses and reactions, then we have not changed our minds (repented) about what we honestly believe is the right way to live life on this Earth. Yes, we "believe" in Jesus, but not many of us, myself probably most of all, do not really walk the walk He walked ahead of us.

I feel that if we can categorize anyone, and somehow justify doing any "violence" toward them, then we have missed the narrow way. And, by "violence", I am not just speaking of the obvious where almost every single one of us fails (Our attitude toward ISIS, Child Molesters, sneak thieves, murderers, swindlers of old people, etc.) I also mean the way we think of certain members right here (to bring the chickens home to roost) You know who I mean. I have my list of people who mainly prowl the BBF, and you have yours. We already have certain "opinions" of some of them that are not in alignment with Jesus' "narrow way." Just the mere fact that I felt it necessary to use the word "prowl" shows I am off that path right now.

The way we treat Trolls, for example, is not how Jesus would treat them. We can try to twist it and attempt to wiggle out of that truth with any sort of excuse or justification, but we still know I just spoke a solid fact. And, in no more than that sort of action from us toward them (even using the term "us & them") we are demonstrating that, at least in this incident, we are traveling the "wide path" of the typical worldly responses to things.... NOT Jesus' response.

Yes, by having not yet truly ever "repented" from the way we seem to want to do things. I believe that most of us have yet to discover what the "narrow way" honestly is.

BUT........... I do think that it was not finding and meticulously and precisely threading that path that Jesus ever expected from any of us. I think it is the heart of King David (who REALLY ran right down the middle of that W-I-D-E path) that Jesus is looking for. Do we keep trying to "repent", or do we comfortably and sometimes stubbornly burrow down into our entrenched positions of perpetuating the evilness of maintain a "them vs. us" view of others. Jesus came to call all men to Him, not to provide us with a road map to a highway, so that we could leave others behind while WE make the grand Spiritual journey of walking proudly on a path we envision as the correct one.

Here's another aspect of what can happen in seeking that "narrow way".

These are not my words, but come from someone who recently gave a workshop at our church. A heck of a nice guy, even if he is a bit of a radical San Francisco hippie. LOL

The Radical Re-Orientating Reign of God

First, one learns that true happiness does not consist of being in the center. The word translated ‘blessed’ or ‘happy’ (Matthew 5:3ff) is used of those whose lives are on the margins. There is some talk today about how Jesus wants us all to be healthy, wealthy and living well. This is the so-called prosperity gospel. But there is nothing ‘good news’ about it. It is as American as apple pie. It simply takes the rights guaranteed in the Declaration of Independence concerning ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’ and says that this is what God wants for us.

But such is not the case. I do not mean that God wants us to be poor, sick and needy. What I mean is that when we live on the edge, when we choose to follow Jesus, our families, our friends and our communities may well marginalize us. It is no small thing to break with relationships that are primarily toxic in character and begin to share in the life of a community where we are loved and cared for. When others around us esteem a go-get-‘em, dog-eat-dog attitude and we find ourselves esteeming others first, we will be seen as foolish. When those around us demand that we hate others who would dare attack and oppress us and we are learning how to turn the other cheek and love our enemies, we will appear to others to be moronic. When our families and friends pile up money in 401K’s, IRA’s, CD’s and investment funds and we begin to give away our resources to feed the poor and support ministries of peace among us, well, we will be criticized. Jesus says as much, “you will be persecuted.” When this happens, and we have divested ourselves for the sake of others, when we have sought to be reconciled even with the most obnoxious, spiteful people, when we seek justice and peace in deep and radical manners, indeed, when we grieve over hurting others, Jesus says that this, THIS, is what it is to be blessed by God. This is real happiness.

Mike's talk went on a whole lot longer than this, but I'm lazy, so this is all I'm transcribing for now.

Many professing Christ but do not Know Him.... These on the broad path. many never regenerated from on High but sown another way , taught , discipled they can climb up another way. Christ the Gate . The Father is the Porter. No man goes out into Pasture and finds Rest unless thru Christ, God manifest in the flesh.
