What IS God's will? What Scripture(s) tell us what God's will is? We know we are to submit to His will, we pray for His will to be done........even Jesus did this.......but what does Scripture say His will is?

I have found a few to consider, you may have more than this............if so, please share them.

2nd Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

1st Thessalonians 4:3) For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

1st Thessalonians 5:18) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Little too early in the morning - I really know it is Hallowed be His (your) name - but is not His will a part of His name?

John 6:29) Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

The will of God is to save all men. Problem is most don't believe He can.

And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one that seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life and I will raise him up at the last day.

God's will for our lives is to Glorify Him. Plain and simple. Spreading the Gospel is the main way to glorify God. To bring others to Christ is God's will for our lives. God's Will for our lives is and should always be God centered.

How about also Living out our lives in such a way to glorify him? The love chapter in I Cor. is really more difficult than it reads.

Well it's glorifying God right? So yep God's will for our lives. To put anything before God is not His Will. How can anyone say I did this I did that and believe they are in God's will when they put themselves before God? God must be first final period end of story! If God isn't first in your life then you are outside God's Will.

I did not think God could die, so why would he leave a will?

Not sure how this Chapter fits............any more than all the Chapters in the Bible...... :)

It seems that the OP was not understood properly........my bad I guess.........I stated that in Scripture I found three instances where Scripture explicitly states what God's will is........

(see OP...............)

I'm looking for Scriptures that state: This IS God's will.................or..............This IS the will of God.........

thanks though........ :)

Ok let me answer your question in the same apologetic style of Jesus. What is the first most important commandment? What exactly is the answer Jesus gives? Love God. To Love God means to Glorify Him in all we do for if we love God first and others second (as Jesus states) will be to obey every moral law of God. By obeying every moral law of God will be to Glorify Him.

Scripture and verse? (I understand what you are saying, but do the Scriptures you are thinking of state clearly: "this is the will of God?"

Ezekiyl 18:, "Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? says Father Yahweh: No, but rather that he would turn back from his wicked ways, and live."
