Witnessing to a Muslim with the facts is one thing, but appeasement never works .... one must tell what the Muslim needs to hear, not what they want to hear
The current Pope's "church" is dwindling in numbers ..... Islam on the other hand is growing rapidly
So his adventure is most likely a folly, Catholics and Muslims simply do not mix .... never have, and will not ....oil and water

There are born agasin catholics, not all hold to the "infallibility" of the Pope, especially the current one. If the catholic church is to be used as a vehicle for the false prophet God will make certain to call His own out of it. We won't win them over with condemnation but with directing them to thier Bible which clearly tells us ONE way-Jesus.
