I used to get road rage nearly every day of my life. Living in New Jersey can do that. :)

One day I read the following Scripture: "Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." James 1:19.

After reading those words I immediately typed, James 1:19 into a label maker, printed it out and stuck it directly onto my steering wheel. (I did not type out the entire verse, "Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry," I simply typed, James 1:19).

Today this verse is on display for me to see every time I get into my car, and the rewards have been life changing. After so many years of anger, frustration and even confrontation, I now have peace, not only when I drive, but in most facets of life.

Does anyone else have a specific Scripture posted somewhere that helps them in an area of their life? Thanks.

Such a good idea! I'm so glad to hear a testimony of the power of the Word of God.
I don't personally have a problem with road rage, but I'm a sloppy driver. I'm always getting beeped at for going to slow, or doing ... well, dumb things. After I get beeped at (or *bleeped* at) I always feel terrible for the rest of the car ride. Is there a verse to help me get over "road shame"?

Romans 3:23 changed my life. It was the verse that helped turn me to Christ when my girlfriend sat me down and had a heart to heart with me. It showed me that even though I felt too far gone for God to love, I wasn't. For we have all sinned.

I have so many, it is hard to know where to start. All these have helped me during tough times, and show me the power and transforming love of God.

"Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, [SUP]4 [/SUP]and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, [SUP]5 [/SUP]andhope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." Romans 5:3-5

"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12:1-2 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

Come unto me all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt. 11:28=30

That's cool... :)

It depends a lot of the moment, the Holy Spirit always guide us back to the path again.

Myself, I had some moments of specific decisions I had to make, where the Lord answered through the Scriptures.

Sometimes I'm just sad and I go directly to the Psalms...

The Lord often speaks to me if I start to worry about anything, "Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world!" And always in my heart I see Him smiling tenderly when He says that.

Awwww, Sophia. Don't be ashamed, dear sister. Perhaps this can help you. Many times when I get the urge to feel disappointed in myself or discouraged, I remember Hebrews 13:15: Let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips that give thanks to His name.

Then I cast my disappointment to the Lord and begin to bless His great name, praising Him and thanking Him for everything I can think of! The sacrifice of praise not only blesses God Who is worthy of ALL of our praise, but it dispels sadness & discouragement and lifts our spirits and helps our relationship with Jesus to grow and blossom.

OK now this thread got me really thinking and I'm gonna end up with the whole Bible posted all over my house...

John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. BUT TAKE HEART! I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD."

I think I'll post this on the inside of my door so I see it before I go out. :)

Now just so yinz know I had to walk around my house to find all my note cards taped everywhere (most near my desk) and I just realized I missed one on the upstairs bathroom mirror as I write this....

These verses hold so much power of God when embraced... really springing up the zeal!

Matthew 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

I used to have them everywhere, but I moved several times. I made so many it was starting to become wallpaper. In most every apartment I at least had the one that said 'as for me and my house...' And this is not a scripture, but I typed it, cut it in the shape of a heart, and put it above my kitchen sink. I said, "Lord, I thank You, for dishes and laundry to do- for we are clothed and fed with a roof above our head."

My house is becoming that way. I read a verse that might touch me on a day then I "post" it. My wife wants me to repaint the interior of the house. If I post enough I don't need to repaint :)

I like your last "family saying"...wonderful how God takes care of us.

we love these also,

in Isaiah coupled with John 14:27.

Great peace have they that love Thy Law and nothing shall offend them.'

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
