Godlessness in the Last Days

2Tim. 3:1 But understand this, that (See 1 Tim. 4:1) in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be [Phil. 2:21] lovers of self, Luke 16:14; [1 Tim. 6:10] lovers of money, Rom. 1:30 proud, Rom. 1:30 arrogant, abusive, Rom. 1:30 disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 Rom. 1:31 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, [Titus 1:8] not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, 1 Tim. 3:6; 6:4 swollen with conceit, Phil. 3:19 lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but See 1 Tim. 5:8 denying its power. 1 Tim. 6:20; [Titus 1:14] Avoid such people. 6 For among them are [Titus 1:11] those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to 1 Tim. 2:4 arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Ex. 7:11 Jannes and Jambres [Acts 13:8] opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, (See 1 Tim. 6:5) men corrupted in mind and Titus 1:16 disqualified regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, Ex. 7:12; 8:18; 9:11 as was that of those two men. (ESV)

1Tim 4:1 Now See John 14:17 the Spirit expressly says that [2 Thess. 2:3-9; 2 Tim. 3:1]; See 1 Cor. 11:19 in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to 1 John 4:6 (Gk.); See Matt. 7:15 deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, spells out or defines the topic very well. (all red notations are for Chain Reference use but are, surely, not all inclusive.)

It is a popular maneuver today that we must not offend folks of other persuasions and this is tauted as the Christian thing to do. Jesus did not teach such a thing, although it is popularly laid at His feet and, as per the teaching of the entire Bible, we, Christians, followers of God are not called to never offend. The Gospel, itself, is like a sharp knife, dividing right from wrong. If I want to be popular, I can return to the stage, ditch my wife and give to the young and the old ladies exactly what they actually want from the Lead Singer of any band. Christians are offensive to the Lost man and as long as we follow God, we will remain so.

Everyone I have ever met wants the period after life to be heavenly, and with most, as long as it's not the Heaven described by God in His book, the Bible. Today, in the catholic Church, it is believed that a man and his wife will spend Eternity in wedded bliss. Remember the lust of the Wedding Night? This expectation defines the “lust” I speak of here. This has nothing to do with what God has taught, or in most cases, attempted to teach us, in the Word of God. There is no, zero, sexual activity in Heaven, please purchase a Hard Copy of the Naves Topical Bible Studies and study the subject without anyone, other than God interceding on your thoughts and study.

We have been living in the last two days since Jesus gave His human body over to the Roman Guard Detail for the sacrifice required, by Him, for the forgiveness of sin. Now about verse 2 of 2Timothy, folks, as the Church of the Christ, we are a disappointing lot. Don't get me wrong, I've never seen an old barn that could not use another coat of paint but when I look at my wife it is not about the make up she wears. My wife understands that I loved and that I love her in a work uniform with no make up at all, I love that lady in any condition I happen to catch her in, at any time of the day.

Women, not always the same as ladies, today are consumed with their outward appearance, lovers of self. Men are no better inside the Church than they were, and likely are, in the clubs and joints I played in as a young man. I was a Soldier, Helicopter Crew Chief, Truck Driver, a Carpenter, a Switchboard Wireman, Forklift Mechanic and a few other occupations in a little better than forty years of my life. Yet, for all of my labor, I wore hundred dollar shirts when I went to the club, whether I was performing or not. I, just like the rest of the world was a lover of self and it was fed by pretty ladies of the evening and I believed the lie that I was happy... BUNK!

This is enough for a topic starter. As mentioned, I copied this from one of my Bible Study programs and it is a great study... if you will read the chain Linked Passages. Comments?

I started a similar thread called, "Things are getting darker"; Which is what your passage sums up, my friend. While I agree that we are to speak boldly the gospel and the truth of the Word of God with no hindrance or restraint (Which will offend people), we also have to speak to people in love. For without love we are nothing. For one of the worse cases of a church we should never turn into is like the Westboro Baptist Church. For he that does not love does not know God (1 John 4:8). This isn't about just loving the people we like. It is about loving even those who are not loved. For even Christ said to the Father to forgive those who were crucifying Him. Jesus said do good unto your enemies and to pray for those who despitefuly use you.

So I hope we can agree to love and pray for all people as we boldly speak the truth.

Jesus loved the world but from the Old Testament to the end of the New, we see how His Love - Him being GOD - is 'acted out', from Genesis to the Revelation. Our human love will never understand His until we have His Spirit in us and we strive in prayer in the Spirit to understand His Love from His Word.

Jude 1:17-23 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; how that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost -
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
And of some have compassion, making a difference:
and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Glad to hear that others are being haunted [so to speak] by the same chapter at about the same time.
It is the Voice of the Good Shepherd when as many as I know personally are also hearing this chpt 'trumpeted' abroad.

The wisdom of God is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield (James 3:17).

Yes, we need to speak out more than ever in these days - the gospel is a sharp knife in and of itself because when spoken it becomes spirit - but when we speak it must be with the wisdom defined above.

And yes, wisdom cries out in the streets - raising its voice (Proverbs 1:20) But it is still wisdom.

My comments

It does appear that there are many indications of a last day setting upon the earth which would include the necessary return of the remnant of Israel to the land in the Middle East .... this is a absolute requirement by the prophetic scriptures .... this is reality today

But at the same time most know that the "last days" have been running for a long time and the behavior of lost humanity is not a new thing

The true Christian is to be a witness to those around them and those called to be preachers and teachers have more accountability because of their particular mission .... and they need to be equipped for the task

All humans regardless of standing can be led to Jesus Christ, but few will make the connection through the narrow gate just as the Lord has said

It is a matter of life or death, and even the most vial person can fine their way, but must take up the journey

So all are potential ones for eternal life, and most situations are very different for each

Genuine love and concern for the lost must be applied in ways that work and sometimes tough love is needed .... the human will is very difficult to influence and break in many cases

There is a tendency for being too accepting and not direct enough when preaching and teaching the truth that most people do not want to hear .... the gospel is at emnity with the natural man

If a true preacher and or teacher of the gospel is afraid of what people will think about them and so refrains by fear of offending others in the process .... this will not work for many around them who need to hear the truth about themselves

So they tell people what they want to hear, appealing to their self felt needs .... what people think they need is often .... not what they need to move them in the right direction

I see this all over the professing church today and this condition is not good .... and the leaders of the assemblies are at risk as well as those who think that they are saved and are not ..... the lukewarm [Matthew 25:1-13; Revelation 3:15-19]

Neither should the same leaders take advantage by dominating and controlling which is usually a practice of the more cult like assemblies .... there are many self serving ambitions practiced by reprobate "men of God"

One who is called is one who will give an accounting for their behavior .... and the same must not fade away when tough love is needed to keep adherence to the truth about the bottom line issue for those who hear [John 3:1-18]

Did you perceive the message to be without love for the lost, even the misguided lost on the pew Sunday Morning? I am one that is forgiven of, very, much and wish that all would respond to the truth of God's Word.

It is always good to hear from people filled with the Holy Spirit. Sadly, there are many pretenders and teach the whole Word of God has me banned from a number of sites where the admin reads the New Testament only. May God bless you, your family and your ministry.

Praise the Lord we have many Threads started, in the same subject, but with diferent points of view, not for confrontation one to other, but to enabling the Word of God to achieve more people with different views...

John 10:16
"And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, {and} one shepherd."

In reference to the title of this thread only, one of the most insidious signs of godlessness in this world is when so many people of all nations place their nation in front of the Kingdom of God, as thought chosen to be the only people of God. Jesus has taught once and for all that the flocks from the nations are joined to His Original Flock for eternity. When a believer knows this and believes this, he is prepared to embrace all mankind who come to Jesus Christ as family and kinsmen in the Kingdom

The only one we should offend is the devil, through prayer, praises, evangelism, encouragement in faith etc... that way we can smash the devil's head.

To act with love reflecting the image of Jesus sometimes is not that difficult, but to react to what the world is showing everyday thousands of new horrible things happening... it is difficult, our souls (not our Spirits, thanks God!), as believers are being bombed every day... We, believers are watching personaly the labor pains, while people who decided not to believe, is dancing, drinking, laughing, "living" a fake happiness which will end soon...
It's not easy to have consciousness of all that is happening. Praise the Lord, cause He knows it is not easy for us...

Mt. 24:22 "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."

If that is the accusation it appears to be by it's context all I will say is you are wrong and are making rash judgements.

It would b terrible were any believer to hold that Jesus Christ is not King, his kingdom and nationality is not the Kingdom of God, and that any flag is waved by our Father.

From study of the Word, but more importantly, from the Holy Spirit, although the books will be opened for judgment on His Day, people will be judged by their own words. I do not judge.

Anyone believing I think I believe myself as possessing judgment to damnation does not know me at all. I do know, however that there is no nation that comes before the Kingdom of God for me and my family in Jesus Christ. There cannot be, otherwise our hope and faith is futile.

Read judgment into what is posted if you wish, but this too is judgment, from your own words. What i have posted accused no one; it is truth.
If that is the accusation it appears to be by it's context all I will say is you are wrong and are making rash judgements.

That verse, Matt. 7:1, is not and I say it over, NOT, a key verse except with the Worldly! It is only the first or introductory sentence of the first paragraph introducing the command to judge righteously! You are making the same error the Worldly, intentionally, make the attempt to shut the Christian's mouth.

The Scriptures are many things to he or she that walks with God. One thing to the follower of Jesus is the Principals for living a God-like life and reading that chapter and referencing back to the 31 chapters of Proverbs and all the rest of the Christian Bible and over and over is found the principal my Atheist mom and dad drove home to me over and over... If you do not judge the character of a man or woman, fruit, and stand on that judgement, you will fall for anything. Jesus commands us, in that chapter of that book in the end of the Sermon On The Mount to clean our lives up and then to judge the fruits, actions, of others.

Sorry about taking so long to answer but I am trying to pass over and my poor rain is under constant attack from the Agent Orange induced Multiple Sclerosis and I often fall asleep and forget.

Jesus teaches us of two types of judgment, to damnation and what is rigth.

If we judge others to hell, we are judging ourselves. We have not yet been given this privilege, A person guilty of breaking the least of the laws has broken all of the law. This makes it clear that no man in the flesh is given to judg in this manner.

Jesus teaches us to judge for ourselves what is right (judging righteously), and if we cannot do this, He tells us we are hypocrites. The pivotal words in this teaching are "for ourselves," and this is quite easy to understand why. There are occasions, man, when something is right for aone man and not for another . We know this from the teachings in the Word.

I have posted to this several times, but perhaps in this post I did not include all I usually have posted. If this is teh case, I am sorry you did not bnefit from it.

If I am in error, the Lord will surely let me know now or come His perfecting moment for us all.
