Well right now I am at a lull. I am looking for a good study. I don't want a study full of arguments because the arguments are getting old.

Would anyone have an idea for a good study that might not have major arguments? I want a study that might not butt heads with every other person who would post something.

I created a Thread from a study I had in the church, I'm just about to finish... called David and Johnatan, a friendship for Eternity... feel free to tell about good friends you had or have, that you consider as a brother or sister... :) just suggesting.

Why not those beautiful verses from that joyful epistle of Paul to the Philippians, your experience of them and struggles.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Hi Elf3,
I agree with you. It would be nice to have a good study not filled with controversy and butting heads. But for example, I made that study on there not being a rapture. The reason I made that study is that the rapture is one of, if not the biggest deception of our time. If people fall for the rapture doctrine, then when satan comes, they may be deceived into worshiping him. That would cause them to have to go through 1000 years of Iron Rod discipline. I don't want our brothers and sisters to have to go through that. And if a little butting heads pulls one person out of that Iron Rod discipline of the Millennium, then it was worth it. I'm thinking about doing two studies next, just to take a breather. The first is: 'Would GOD do a Covert Operation?' and the next is: 'Why are we dealt the hand in this life that we are faced with' or something like that.
But no matter what study you decide to do, you can be sure that I will read it! :)

How about "dying to self"? I'd like to die-to-self! But you choose please, Brother elf! This is 'your' thread and great idea.

I agree that Elf 3 it is up to you, being your thread to make your choice of the various suggestions that will be brought forward, I would suggest fairly soon so as we can get on with the study and to enjoy it.

One reason I posed this question was not only for me but to see what others might be interested in studying.

OK I'm gonna give this another couple hrs and see what other ideas might come up. Really good ones so far...relationships, die to self, Philippians and spiritual gifts. Clarks studies are pretty good too.

I just feel there is too much arguing and not enough fellowship. Dcontraversal made a great forum on Biblical truths that is just way fun.

I think we need a "way fun" study where we can learn God's Word together in true Christian fellowship.

How about we talk about why God seems to hear and answer some people's prayers, but not others?

Perhaps when the time is up then there might be a kind of vote on the choice of subject by those who have made suggestions with one condition, we do not vote for our own choice. Evad

Again, give it 24 hours for the answers to come in and if there is a tie then Elf 3 has the casting vote and decision. Does that sound fair to all

This would be ok with me but this isn't my site or my forum. This should be a site for everyone to study God's Word together in unity as one body of Christ. To help each other grow in Christ.

Instead what we have are people throwing around their ideas and their beliefs as if God's Word is only second in nature. All we end up with are two different groups of people trying to convince each other their thinking is right and the other is wrong. The problem is that we argue against others already set in "their understanding". Because of this we lose sight of the "basics" and argue about the mundane.

I am sure a good bit of us believe in the basic simple truth that if it wasn't for the grace of God and the blood of Christ we would never find God. But instead we argue over the "secondary" things.

Now I know this will be a huge task for me and I cannot do it without the Holy Spirit. But, I am going to try and start a forum on each study idea here. My objective isn't gonna be to show "how much knowledge" I have (because that would be a lie), but to get a study going. To get a wholesome study of God's Word started so we can all enjoy what God has to teach us. So we can discuss the things of God that he has revealed to us through His Word. So we can build each other up not tear each other down.

One person here has really been making me "check" myself and I thank that "ninja" for it. They have shown me that I have partaken in the "tearing down". Now it's time I do what God truly wants and build the family.

Great, now to give my midn to some really serious and prayerful consideration as to what this means in very practical terms. I am sure it will be both very rewarding and challenging. What an opportunity to edify one another in this area of greatest difficulty and conflict with the flesh, what we are by nature, horrid!!

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

I know that it will only be effectual to us under the teaching and direction of the Holy Spirit , by whom is the mortifying of the flesh;

Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

I know that there is so much in me that needs this mortifying work, and will until my last day and this I know because the Lord has Himself said it to be so;

Luk 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

I have said enough, I look forward to what I shall read and learn from others. God Bless this study.

I don't know if it's so much the study as it is the people in the study.

Evad I made a forum "die to self". Great stuff here. I know this is a pain but post it there also :)
