Can we say that Jesus is the word of God?
Can we say that the Word of God is God?
Can we say that the Word of God is the power of God?
Can we say that the Word of God is the truth of God?
Can we say that the Word of God is alive?
Can we say that the word of God is a seed of God?
Can we say that the Word of God is life, light, and salt?
Can we say that the Word of God is the sure rock and strong foundation on which we build our foundation and stand.
Can we say that the Word of God never fails?
Can we say that the Word of God is exalted above all of God's Names?
Can we say that we are healed, delivered, and saved by the Word of God?
Can we say that if we exalt God's Word we exalt Him and if we speak evil of God's Word we speak evil of Him?
What do you say God's Word is, what about it, and what good is it?
Scripture is always welcome.

The first time the Word of God is encountered in Scripture, it's in Genesis 1:3, as God speaks for creation. The Word of God is, from the beginning, portrayed as an active, creating thing. It's not something that is created, but something that causes creation.

John 1 tells us that the Word became flesh (that is, the Christ), but also that the Word itself is God. This word existed long before taking on physical flesh. John 1 continued to tells us that life is within this Word, as well as verifies the fact that the Word is a creative being.

If the Word of God existed since the beginning, it only makes sense that this Word interacted with people throughout history. In Genesis 15:1, we find that the Word of the Lord came to Abram, and also again in 12:22, we see the Word of God come to someone.

There are many more things that could be said, or studied concerning the Word of God as a being. One of the greatest misconceptions I see in modern theology, is that many get the idea that the Word always existed as Jesus. The Word did not become Jesus until Jesus was born, but rather took other forms. (Such as the angel of the Lord, etc.) Christ was the ultimate incarnation of this Word, which is eternal and always pleading our case, as Christians, to the Father.

We know that the second person of the Trinity was in the world from the beginning - and He came to His own, but the majority did not know Him, as thus…

He was in the world, and the world came into being through Him, yet the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become children of God, to the ones believing into His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God. And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, glory as of an only begotten from the Father, full of grace and of truth. John witnesses concerning Him, and has cried out, saying, This One was He of whom I said, He coming after me has been before me, for He was preceding me. And out of His fullness we all received, and grace on top of grace. For the Law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, that One declares Him.(John 1.10 – 18)

Scripture clearly informs the reader that the Word occupied flesh when He was in the world and that He was beheld as The Glory of God.

That the second person of the Trinity occupied flesh before being born of a woman and being referred to as God The Son, is made crystal clear by John’s proclamation that ‘He coming after me has been before me, for He was preceding me’.This is a full admission that The Son was manifest both before John’s time and after John’s time.

These early manifestations of The Son, The God-man, consisted of Malek Yahweh, El Shaddai, etc, etc…thus, the soul of God is in reference to The Son…not The Father….not The Spirit…

This One it is who has come after me, who has been before me, of whom I am not worthy that I should loose the thong of His sandal. These things took place in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing. On the morrow, John sees Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold! The Lamb of God, taking away the sin of the world! This is He about whom I said, After me comes a Man who has been before me, for He was preceding me.(John 1.27 – 30)

You have more insight into the word of God young lady than I did when I was your age.
The purpose for this thread was to exalt Jesus without controversy or disagreements. To cross denominational lines through agreement on who Jesus is and what He has done for all those who have received Him as their savior. Everything that is written about the word of the God, is about Jesus.

No kidding she pretty much nailed it straight on the head. I mean like one shot and buried the nail. I don't think there is really any way to argue with her unless the person has really horrible study patterns.

Pretty good set up so far. Dc setting the stage, blue eyes knocking it out and bowman cleaning up. Shoot anything I was gonna say has already been said except the final maybe. John 22:25 "Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written."

This isn't some great misconception of modern theology but your understanding of the Trinity. Christ has always existed, along with the Father and Holy Spirit, since before time began. The Angel of the Lord etc. was the pre-incarnate Christ.

Yeah tintin that's what she says. But she is correct that many Christians cannot answer "where was Jesus before he was born". They either have no idea or think he was sitting and waiting "his turn".

I appreciate the comments concerning my post. I generally attempt to say what I'm going to say in the simplest way possible. There is a lot more I could have included, but the for the sake of keeping it simple, didn't.

Just to clean things up though, I do not disagree that Christ has always existed. The very point I was trying to make is that He did, as the Word of God, before becoming the incarnate Jesus. I do find that many people have a hard time wrapping their head around the idea that, while Christ was eternal, the physical being of Jesus was not. (Maybe I'm the only one who has come across this.) Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

You've done well, BehindBlueEyes. You're not alone if you say that the Word of God was and is eternal.

Some people have been burned at the stake though for believing that He wasn't "the son" until His incarnation at conception - but they won't give any Scripture to prove "eternal sonship" and they can't -- from the O.T. nor the N.T. -- yet, they'll damn Christians to Hell for saying that that belief in "eternal generation" came from Origen. Yes, Origen is the Origin of the "eternal son" belief - but some people would rather damn a person [or burn them at the stake] then to research it in the Scriptures first and then Church History to find out that The Word of God was just Who He said He was and it's The Word of God that's doing all of the speaking in the O.T. that we have in written form now.

They cannot provide one O.T. Scripture proving that He was the son before conception or the incarnation but they'll fight you anyway -- even after you show them that every mention of the son was "future tense" in the O.T..

With Christmas coming - I think it is an overwhelming Awe Causing Truth - that Creator God was born in a manger and Creator God, died on that cross.

Though the Three are One - Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord. Mar 12:29

Every Name used for the GOD in the O.T. is used for the One we know as Jesus now as well and why I especially love the Revelation. John knew Jesus best. That's why Jesus gave His own mother to John and not to his half-brother, as would have been the Jewish custom. And you can only imagine all of the things Mary told John about Jesus, from the day of conception until she last saw Him when He ascended. I can only imagine and can't wait until we see Him and learn all that John know about Him plus learn from Him for all of Eternity.
Jesus is GOD - can't slice it any other way. John 1 is enough.

We only see One sitting on The one Throne through-out the O.T. and we only see One sitting on that One Throne in the Revelation - the Throne with the bow [rainbow] over it.

Thanks know1 and BehindBlueEyes for the exhortation and encouragement!

In my simplicity, I see Christ as being made up of light, as in the visible kind, even as the Father is light. But the bible says that the word/truth/Christ of God is light, for it is written in, Psa 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
How are we born again? By the entrance of God's word in our hearts. The life of God is in the Word of God, therefore, when we receive the word or the truth of God in our hearts, we receive the the light and life of God through and via Christ Jesus.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
Joh 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
I think the word of God is AWESOME!!! By it, all things become possible for the child of God who believes the promises of God.

Unless we know 'Jesus' from the Word of God in it's entirety - then we don't know The Word of God made flesh. <- period -- Right?

no, read what 'Jesus' Himself says in the NT, and you will see that the more some people know of the Bible, the less they know Him as Savior and Messiah and Lord.
but He also gave thanks out loud the the Creator saying "thank you Father for hiding Your Salvation from the scholars and lawyers, and for revealing Your Salvation and all about it to BABIES." find it in Jesus Own Words in your Bible.

Unless we know 'Jesus' from the Word of God in it's entirety - then we don't know The Word of God made flesh. <- period -- Right?

I surely can't agree with what you're saying here because The Whole of The Word of God written is from the mouth and heart of God and are/is still The Word of God.

He condemned the those people for what they DIDN'T know and do with the Word that they had read.

Every word written from Genesis to the Revelation reveals Who God is and is called "The Word of God" that was from the beginning and was made flesh.

You don't chop up Jesus and only take in parts of Him. He is the Bread of Life, the Word of Life, The Light unto our paths, the Words that fight off Satan's temptations - ETC --- ALL of His Words will "Last Forever" ...

Please don't leave off any of what He Has Written -- from cover to cover - it's from "the bosom of The Father -- His Heart -- from out of the heart His mouth Spoke = Christ, The Word made flesh ... every Word of it.
