Before returning to what Scripture says (oh, bummer, do we have to?)

… let us look for a moment at what Ellen G. White says.
I have really enjoyed reading her book on the history of the church,
titled “The Great Controversy”. Now, towards the end of another
of her books, “The Story of Redemption”, we read …

“But I saw that the Word of God, as a whole, is a perfect chain,
one portion linking into and explaining another. True seekers
for truth need not err, for not only is the Word of God plain and
simple in declaring the way of life, but the Holy Spirit is given
as a guide in understanding the way to life therein revealed.

I saw that the angels of God are never to control the will.
God sets before man life and death. He can have his choice.
Many desire life, but still continue to walk in the broad road.
They choose to rebel against God’s government, notwithstanding
His great mercy and compassion in giving His Son to die for them.
Those who do not choose to accept of the salvation so dearly
purchased, must be punished. But I saw that God would not shut
them up in hell to endure endless misery, neither will He take them
to heaven; for to bring them into the company of the pure and holy
would make them exceedingly miserable. But He will destroy them
utterly and cause them to be as if they had not been; then His justice
will be satisfied. He formed man out of the dust of the earth, and the
disobedient and unholy will be consumed by fire and return to dust again.
I saw that the benevolence and compassion of God in this
matter should
lead all to admire His character and to adore His
holy name. After the wicked
are destroyed from off the earth,
all the heavenly host will say, “Amen!”.

No OFFENCE BUT,

Ellen White is blind to the truth and a false teacher.....The words of JESUS override her heretical lies and deceptive statements.....

Jesus said those who reject him will suffer the eternal fires of the lake of fire where the smoke of their torment ascends FOREVER before the THRONE......

I suggest you take her book and place it next to the toilet in case you run out of paper......

No OFFENCE BUT,
of course you are not blind and a false teacher about anything, right?

P.S. I have yet to find any false teachings from her, with the exception of
her insistence that the Sabbath must be observed on Saturday (Ex 20:8).
This I am not at all sure about (only because of Colossians 2:16).

I don't really know this Ellin white but what she says is complete bogus. Now I don't know if Hell is an eternal punishment but I do know that it is a very real place because I have been there. Hell is a place where you are constantly thirsty and dry, it's not only hot as heck but its very humid as well. the lake of fire is exactly what the name implies its a giant lake made of fire and demons attack and torture ppl. What I saw and experienced I would not wish upon the worst and most evil of ppl on this earth, I can only hope the torture is not eternal but telling ppl there is no hell or that ppl will not be sent there is wrong.

Yes, I have never read any of her prophecies.

But, there is one thing we know for sure, don't we ...
that if someone gives us 99% spiritual truth, we can be taken in,
and it is very possible for the 1% error to do us incredible harm!

No offence intended but the "Great Controversy" doctrine is not scriptural.

Be careful with this stuff. Many have harmed themselves and the gospel by stumbling down the paths of legalism. Ellen White neglects what is written in Hebrews and Galatians when she speaks of doctrine, and contradicts the Prophets and Revelation when giving prophecy.
Her denomination requires annihilationism (no hell, just elimination of the soul) because there is no power in the salvation they preach, only empty works.

No offense intended but her book "The Great Controversy" is mostly about
the battle between God and Satan, which was played out in church history
between the RCC and the true believers (Protestants) in the word of God.

Thanks for the heads up! ...
Still love her history of the church ... perhaps that's a hook to catch the little fishes!

The BIG hook to catch the little fishes is the verses such as John 3:16, which sound like:
"Just believe with your intellect, and you've got a free ticket to heaven!"
(with no accountability)

Then later, they're warned to be sure to count the cost of goin' down this narrow rocky path!
And the widdle fishies start floppin' around all over the place, fallin' down the gorge, etc.!

Now while I believe Ellen White is a "false prophet" and I am not a SDA. This is actually the true traditional view of what will happen on the day of the Lord. Hell exists, yet it will be destroyed along with Satan, the fallen angels, the godless (after they are judged and punished according to their works, death and the heavens and earth. After which He will recreate the heavens and the earth, without sin, pain, mourning and crying forever.

This is not a revelation from God to Ellen, this is Ellen doing her homework and understanding what the Bible says. And it in no way is exclusive to the SDA church. It predates it by thousands of years, even before Christ. Study it in the Old and New Testament.

You can thank the pagan religions, the Catholic Church and a single greek word misunderstood/translated poorly (or maybe purposely) for your view of eternity.

Revelations 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
This take place after heaven earth and old hell have been destroyed sounds pretty final to me. Not her to argue with anyone if you have to argue , argue with the book the HOLY WORD of GOD!

Ellen White and her husband founded the Seventh Day Adventists after the group she was with disintegrated due to them following a false prophet by the name of William Miller. William Miller convinced many thousands of Americans that Jesus would return sometime around the year 1843. This, obviously, did not happen causing a massive reaction called "The Great Disappointment." White, a Millerite, was gravely disappointed (hence the name of the incident). It was months later that she had her first "visions." To this day, William Miller's writings are still published in Seventh Day Adventist material.

Miller was a false prophet. Out of his false teachings rose two major "Christian" sects: the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Seventh Day Adventists, both founded by former Millerites.

Actually, the Catholic Church teaches that the Heavens and the Earth will be remade for an eternal kingdom.

I am afraid your historical view of How the Seventh Day Adventist church came about is not totally accurate.

Ellen White was instrumental but there were others form all sorts of faiths. William miller was not a prophet but simply a man who preached the second coming of Christ in the year 1844 and was wrong. but there is no doubt that he was Genuine and there was a large following from many denominations.

William Miller was right about a great many things, but also wrong about many things. One thing He was not wrong about was the date. thus the reason many people followed it because of the proof he was able to produce. But sadly for Him and many others, he was wrong about what would happen in 1844.

The Seventh Day Adventist Church did grow from a small group of believers including Ellen White though that was not here maiden name at the time. who went back to the scriptures and tried to find where they had gone wrong, They found the teachings of Hebrews on the Sanctuary and then saw them in connection to Daniel 8:14 where the Sanctuary would be cleansed.

They then began to realize the mistake being made was not the date but the event. This of course led eventually to the teaching of the Sabbath as the believers realized that the sanctuary in heaven in Johns vision he saw the ark of the covenant in connection with Judgment.

and thus the "seventh" part of the name.

People always give them a hard time cause they got it wrong about Jesus coming in 1844, as if they have never got anything wrong in the bible before.

what does the bible teach about Hell?

Eze_18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Mal 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

no root or branch left, just ashes under the soles of your feet.

what about new testament:

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

one guess what the word "perish" means.

what about this one:

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Whaaat, who didn't tell Paul that the wages of sin is eternal burning in fire?

But the bible says forever and ever doesn't it?

Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

where is this? in the presence of the Holy angels and the Lamb. where does this happen?

Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

right outside the city of God. wow just imagine how wonderful it will be to live in a city surrounded by people being punished constantly for eternity.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

whaaat second death, which is it dead or eternal life in pain?

The answer is simple its your missus of the words forever, Go study and have fun.

"oops" ? .. 'most of christendom' to the world implies that the heretical roman caths bought into it, even though they are on the wide road to destruction,
it has deceived the whole world/ frncated with all the worlds leaders (or most of them, according to revelation),
and the most of the world thinks /equates 'christendom' with roman heresy. notice that those deceived by the roman heresy keep trying to promote their promoters directly or in any round about way as the evil continues unabated, seemingly.

footnote for anyone who might be able to come to the truth, but are still trapped in any roman rdd(sic) doctrine or group ---
yes, yahweh through yahshua hamashiach(jesus messiah) is able to save anyone who turns to him; this necessitates turning to jesus and away from that which is instead of truth and away from that which is opposed to jesus. no one can be saved by a group of humans nor by the doctrines of demons which the rdd(sic) relies on totally, but many have been saved out from them and have come out from them as it is written yahweh says "come out of her my people" (come out of heresy/error, to truth).
