vI know to some people the answer is obviously yes, but yet i hear some Christians say, i don't fear God because God loves me UNCONDITIONLY , is this true scripturaly ? or another sadden tear to put into allmost full tear botle ?

The following verses say nothing of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, but are clear to the point whether a Christian should fear God or not.

I don't think is necessary to post the over 150 verses about the fear of God,to beleiver or unbeleiver, but this verses must be answered .

From det 4:1o to rev 15:4 they ALL proclame the fear of GOD.

Det 4:10 says that they may learn to fear me.... Job 28:28 the fear of the Lord that is wisdom.....

Psalm 5:7 and in thy fear i will worship toward thy holy temple....Psalm 25:14 the Lord is with them that fear him....

Prov 14:27 the fear of the Lord is a fountain of life....Jer 5:22 fear not me ? say the Lord,V.24 Neither say they in their heart, let us now fear the Lord our GOD... Luke 12:4-5 fear not them that kill the body,V.5 but i will forewarn you whom ye shall fear, fear him who AFTER he hath killed ,hath power to cast into hell, yea i say unti you FEAR HIM.

Rev 15:4 who shall not fear thee o Lord....and Eccl 12:13 concludes whith this,Let us hear the conclusion of the matter, FEAR GOD and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man...

No wonder Paul say in phil 2:12 work out your own salvation with FEAR and TREMBLING.

And sa if the Christian have UNCONDITIONAL LOVE of GOD without fear? I wonder what the above verses are

Fear is not terror but a deep reverential trust in God for Who He is.

yes, the English language makes this conversation awkward.

"fear" as in not terror but reverence. humility & honor without anxiety & dread.

Show me by definition when is fear not a terror? I don't know such a thing how is it that fear has no terror; please consider 2 Cor 5:11 what is the apostle is referring to ,Knowing the terror of the Lord we persuade men?..

Look any dictionary that ALL fears have terrors, otherwise why would you fear if there is no terror ?..GOD bless...

the "fear" that the bible says is "respect"
let´s see why.

malachi 1:6 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

"fear" = respect.

Ro 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

This is one of those complicated issues...if we walk in the Spirit...no fear In the flesh? Yes!

There have been moments when I have feared God, and it was the result of my sin coming to a head. And yet be that as it may, God's grace poured out over me all the more.

Nick, do you believe that God, who loves you so much that He sacrificed His own Son for you, enjoys being feared?

In Jesus Christ, there is grace, and with grace comes peace and joy and life eternal.

it's like saying this:

O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
(Jeremiah 10:24)

while knowing this:

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
(Psalm 100:5)

even though i welcome His rebuke, and know His plans for me are to do good, and not to harm, i know that He is just, and what son desires to be chastened ?! much less to make my Father angry, and though i know He loves me, i know He is stern and teaches hard lessons. this is why to fear Him is the beginning of wisdom, i think - because i know to be a fool displeases Him. so for both self-preservation and for love of Him, i want to do good, and walk in His ways :)

Good question, but does not apply when you sin,Like you said there are moments that you feared God , may I ask why Did you feared? it is because you did something wrong isn't it? that is what the bible talking about. in that case then GOD is enjoys to see his Children get the Message .I hope that answers your question.God bless.

Of course this scripture has to be added to the conversation.

1Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

are you afraid of your earthly dad? (if he's a good dad, that is)
does his coming into the room terrify you?

because this...
Matt 7:9-11
Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?
Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

[h=1]Jeremiah 5:22King James Version (KJV)[/h]22 Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

Very good verse that is one of the 150 more which I did not posted.
Here is one more Hebrews 10:27 but a fearful looking for of judgment and FIERY indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.V.31 it is A FEARFUL thing to fall into the hands of the living GOD.
Nothing of the above says respect ,but ALL say FEAR, I respect my wife, but I don't fear her.i hope that helped,God bless.

NO I am not afraid if my dad come to my room, UNLESS I did something he would not like, then I would be afraid,at least from my dad , I hoped that helped, God bless...

Yes, Christians should most definitely fear God and that many don't is painfully obvious.

Yes reverently...........
Why if you reverent God would you fear? the catholics reverent the pope do they fear him? I don't thing so..or is because Isaiah 29:13 says wherefore the Lord said, for asmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their FEAR toward me is taught by the precept of MEN.. that is a strong possibility why some Christians don't want to see what the word of GOD is saying.i hope that helped, God bless.
