Philippians 4:6 - 4:7

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

, I had a bad dream a few nights ago and I'm not going to go into it. I will say that while dreaming I was fighting and when I was overwhelmed by more then a few, in the dream I thought " I need Jesus " I started praying, as soon as I started.... I woke up with my adrenaline pumping, but soon calmed by realizing how I woke up... Praying,

Just made me think about the power of prayer and what God will do no matter where we call on Him, in real life or even our dreams

Anyone else with this type of experience ..

Some wild stuff... It just made me think to post this because no matter where we are, He will help, no matter how big a storm is, I think He gave me that for insight of how important prayer is... Very, very, important ....PRAY

Meanwhile, in the third world...
There's enough people stuck homeless, prostitutes, killing themselves and their families right here in the states ... We are turning into a third world, I don't have to go to far to see it, please this is a thread about prayer, if you have nothing to say on it, save the third world talk for another thread... Thank you

Yes, i have had some of these experiences. The Lord had sent a woman my way to minister who had been abused by her Dad.
She eventually started coming to our church. ( we do have battles when ministering). One night i was awaken three times by
something hitting me on my arms. I Knew it was a spirit the first time. I rebuked it in Jesus name, went back to sleep, same thing. The third time, I said really loud Jesus send it to the pit. That was it. We had prayed for this women at church.
She would wake up at night stabbing herself in the leg with a fingernail file.

There is absolutely power in the name of Jesus

I remember not long after I was born again, I had a dream some vicious guy was holding my by the throat against a chain link fence. I called out Jesus and a man appeared behind the attacker, that's all that happened but the attack stopped.

This is about prayer.

Think of the all the suffering right now in the third world. Praying for their children to live, and their prayers won't be answered.

Think of Joseph Fritzels daughter who begged and pleaded every day for 25 years for intervention and it never came... Maybe she wasn't as in need as someone who was having a bad dream.

I'm just saying to look at the bigger picture.

Brother Brainfreeze,
i think it's common to hear the Spirit interceding for us while we are dreaming sometimes, especially at times when we have immersed ourselves in the Word or prayer prior to falling asleep. In my experience, while dreaming and feeling like i'm in a state of struggle or enraged i hear the Spirit intercede (in quick flashes) by bringing scriptures to my mind, while calming me, to counter whatever approach my carnal mind is attempting to apply to the situation. God with us to save us my brother, as He conforms us to His inner image awake or asleep
:)

Psalm 149
1Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

2Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

3Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

4For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

5Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;

7To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
8To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

Disgusting... Guy should've been a dead man with a burning soul by now, but this falls in to that category "why didn't God do this or that ", SIN is ugly, evil is disgusting.. Colincat

If I placed my faith in bad scenarios that happen everyday, I would have no belief either, God can heal this women and her children, but children, women, and men die everyday, sad and I pray for people everyday.. You should try it..

I'm merely asking why god would trivially intervene in someones dream yet not intervene in a genuinely needed situation.

I don't have all the answer ColinCat.... Idk why I even started to pray " in a dream " this is the first it's ever happened to me like this... I don't know why priest skim off the top, I don't know why so many starve in Somalia, Idk why this happen to that girl, but we do know she suffered at the hands of her father not God, her father has pure evil running his heart, this is why I pray to be a vessel for The Holy Ghost, to help combat this sickness running through our world... It needs healing ColinCat, real soul cleansing blood, Blood of The Lamb of God... It will only get much worse on a mass scale without it

I have had many experiences and I thank God fro them. Thanks for sharing this brainfreeze it is a testimony of God's love. To Colin... This world ,yes, if full of evil. And yes there are things we do not understand but lets lift God up in spite of what goes on around us and even in spite of our own shortcomings. If there be any virtue if there be any praise think on these things and the peace of God that passes all understanding will be evident. Peace in a storm? yes! the battle rages in a war that was won on a cross around 2000 years ago. Pray ,talk to God, and be not consumed by the cares of this world. This is not even close to saying to not care it is saying that we need to let th elight within us shine in spite of all the darkness. The world? What is it? If we bring it down to what is real for us on a daily basis it is simple in a way. It is the people we meet, the cashier at the convenience store, the people we work with , our families,,,,, spread the good news in a dark world, Th egood news of Jesus Christ who came for all. Pray for all and minister to thise we can. It is the joy of the Lord that is our strength and out strength can only come forth as we become more conformed into the image that God desires us to.

That dream was intense... Like I said woke up adrenaline pumping, then calmed by realizing how I woke up, had some wild dreams before but this one takes the cake by a long shot.. It was God telling me to pray more, and that faith is a constant, it's not something we just have and keep, it's something we constantly have to apply, because we have flesh, like Peter walking on water, even though Jesus was RIGHT IN FRONT of him, he still sunk because he was thinking look at what IM doing or look at those waves that's going to drown ME ... Keeping our eyes on Jesus is something a Christian has to mentally exercise all the time, even one with strong faith as an apostle ..

Just deeper insight I got and could grasp just from that one dream

It's weird. I don't dream about anything supernatural like ghosts and things like that. I used to when I believed in ghosts. But now nothing. I still have very unsettling dreams now but about real world things like a family member going missing or me being in prison etc. You know, scary events you hope never to experience.

I used to suffer from old hag syndrome too and the things I saw appeared to be very real and terrifying. I still suffer from sleep paralysis but don't suffer the hallucinations anymore since I dismissed the supernatural.

Sleep related episodes can have a very powerful impact on our lives and minds and I wonder if our own worldview shapes our sleep experiences.

I'm not dismissing your sleep experiences by saying your world view is shaping them. But maybe our minds amplify our world view when we sleep or in your case make you more open to certain experiences that i could never be open to.

This was a violent dream, I will say guns were involved and I've never killed someone in real life, but I did in this dream after I wrestled the gun away from whoever it was... As I said I don't want to go into it, It has nothing to do with how I see the world..but yes I think the images are familiar but the way they are used is not, like a language everyone knows the letters but when they are put together a certain way they make a sentence.. We don't have influence on the way the sentences are formed in our dreams ... Does this make any sense ?

God does and will intervene in needed situations ..if they turn to him his way (acts 2 v 38..acts 2 v 4 ...mark 16 v 16 +...rom 8 v 9 ..etc) or do it your own way and leave yourself open to the enemy ... everyone's choice..

Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
