How do I get God's blessings?

Lately, it seems like nothing is going right. No good breaks, trials, trials, and more trials... That's what It's been like for me lately. Maybe I'm not doing something right for God give me blessing or something? I know, I know, we aren't saved by works. But it does seem like there are things that we can do for God to want to bless us, and give us any good breaks. Anyway, does anyone know of any versers for ways I can get God's blessings?

How do you know you have not received any of God's blessings? Think about all the things that HAVENOT happened to you

dot...turn your computer off for an hour and turn the TV on to CNN or any news channel.....have a sincere look and listen at what is happening in Haiti...and then count your blessings one by one...you will be pleasantly surprised at how many God has let you have.

Dothack..it seems a lot of the time with your posts you are looking for what God is going to do for YOU. Will God give me a virgin girlfriend, Will God give me the gift of tongues, Will God fix my social problems, Will God make me less anxious, how do I get God's blessings, etc, etc. Stop thinking bout what He is going to do for you, and start putting your priorities on doing for Him. Put HIM first, not yourself, and He'll take care of the rest. So stop asking what God's going to give you, and start asking yourself, what have you given God lately?

Ask. Don't get caught up in the idea that your life will be great if you obey God - Job is the perfect example that the 'prosperity gospel' is nothing, but magical thinking and superstition. After all, God tells us that rain falls on the just and unjust (Matt 5:45)

This is not a one way relationship. You follow G-d, and you are actually guaranteed everything BUT a perfect and happy, pie-in-the-sky life. You should focus less on what G-d can do for you and more on what you can do for G-d. Editing one of my favorite JFK quotes, because it fits:

"Ask not what G-d can do for you, but what you can do for G-d."

Also, there's another way that G-d promises will bless you in Scripture, but you have to express interest in hearing it first. Many here would shoot me for saying it
