B
The believer is a new creature in Christ and should never be identified by any form of sin. If we sin and confess our sin God is faithful to forgive us and cleans us from the unrighteousness of that sin and will not remember what He has forgiven, cleansed and put away through the blood of Christ. Satan would like to get the believer identifying with his sin and he does it by making the believer admit that he is guilty. Next he tries to get the believer to think that he will never be free from that sin and will fail again and again. He gets the believer to look in the past and confirms just how many times he has sinned and failed in that area. The more Satan is able to get the believer to think about his sin, even if he has confessed it, the more he gets the believer occupied with his old sin nature that produced the sin. When this happens repeatedly over and over the believer is little by little giving place to the devil and is being convinced that he will never be free from that sin. That is the insidious device the devil uses in the mind and guilt conscience of the believer to bring them back into bondage and take away hope.
Satan wants to get the believer yoked back up with his sin, especially the sin that he experienced so much of in his life. If Satan is effective in doing this he can destroy the capacity of that believer to be able to receive grace for every part of his life. The believer will find himself struggling with sin that Christ has crucified and cleansed and will identify himself with that sin and the lifestyle that goes with it. He will slowly begin to remove himself from hearing the word and from the fellowship of other believers. He will isolate himself and begin to think that he is not worthy of God's love and grace. He will withdraw himself from the things of God that edified and built him up in Christ. He will start to associate with others who are also drawn away and that is where negativity and bitterness sets in and he becomes very unstable and double minded. Instead of identifying with the cross and the body of Christ, he identifies with his own flesh, the weaknesses of the flesh and those who do not have victory over the flesh.
Satan has effectively brought that believer in his mind and emotions to a place that identifies with sin instead of Christ and being a new creature in Him. That believer can no longer see himself outside the flesh and no longer has a capacity to receive from God. They stop assembling themselves, they stop praying, they stop loving others and they do not any longer see themselves as a member of the family of God. Satan has robbed them of who they are in Christ and gotten them to identify with sin instead of with the love of God. They are now lost to the life that God had given to them through faith and they need to be lifted up and restored with an abundance of grace. They need intercession as Peter did when Jesus said that he prayed that Peter's faith would fail not (Luke 22:32).
Gal 6:1,2
6 Brethren, if any person is overtaken in misconduct or sin of any sort, you who are spiritual [who are responsive to and controlled by the Spirit] should set him right and restore and
reinstate him, without any sense of superiority and with all gentleness, keeping an attentive eye on yourself, lest you should be tempted also.
2 Bear (endure, carry) one another’s burdens and troublesome moral faults, and in this way fulfill and observe perfectly the law of Christ (the Messiah) and complete what is lacking [in your obedience to it].
