Yes, John 17:3 says, "This is eternal life, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ."

But, try to use skillful English comprehension when reading John17:3. Ask yourself the question, Do I have this "Eternal Life" right now on Earth? Well, no you do not. You will have Eternal Life only in Eternity after you recieve your Inheritance from God. Therefore, since you do not at this time actually possess Eternal Life, and are confined to the physical Earth, you cannot "know God." You do not yet have the "this" spoken of by John in 17:3.

Now, ask yourself this question: Do you know anything of God beyond what is given about Him in Scripture? If you do not, then you only know things about Him, and nothing more. Therefore, when someone states they "know God," is there any way they can be correct? Remembet, heart felt sincerity and busy explanations are not a test for Truth.
if the Spirit of God dwells in you and you do not know God something is wrong...
Galatians 4:8-10King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

[SUP]10 [/SUP]Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

your understanding is not right...eternal life is to know God and Jesus Christ....if you long lost uncle leaves you an inheritance..you don't need to know his private life story to receive the inheritance...do you have an uncle named John Stegley?.... yes
ok sign here ...he left you an inheritance....the more important question is if you are known by him...lest in that day he says depart from me I never knew you

He'll be back later with new username. Just a matter of time. But good to see that so many had heads up.
I doubt that, I used to host online computer games. And when I had to ban someone, the ban included the IP address. I had people on several occasions think they could get back in by just changing the name, and it held up the ban no matter what name they used.

Usually trolls like this one, which has been here several times before, spoofs IPs or use various tunnels and proxies. The security also does not appear to be that very strict here at CC. But just keep put the foot down when you see them, it helps the mods to keep them off.

I have noticed that they let more slide now than they used to, or do not have the time anymore to monitor the site. What I have found though, is that the psuedo-Christians hang themselves, if you give them enough rope. HEATED arguments do NO GOOD. But keeping your cool, while they are trying to push your buttons, seems to irritate them to the point that they eventually run off at the mouth and get banned.

For those who still think it is impossible to really "KNOW" God, how else do you think Peter was able to endure this:

Anyon, having received the Holy Spirit has met God, therefore he or she knows Him. Now knowing Him perfectly will not come until His great and glorious day.

When I repented and the Holy Spirit entered into me, I met my first love, the Father, Who in turn brought me to Jesus Christ. (Don0t ask.)
If what the op title is say amounts to knowing Him enought to describe every facet of His Being,, I sometimes wonder if even after His great and glorious Day we will ever know Him so, but He is always revealing secrets to all of His children; yes, He is. Praise the Father I have come toknow, amen.

AMEN on genuinely KNOWING HIM! For me it did not happen until after I surrendered complete control of my life to the LORD, after my third attempt at suicide the week after Christmas 1977.

1 Corinthians 13:12 (YLT)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] for we see now through a mirror obscurely, and then face to face; now I know in part, and then I shall fully know, as also I was known;

1 John 3:2 (HCSB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him as He is.

As for the OP, he was banned after repeatedly scoffing at those of us who testify, that we really do know Him in part. Personally, I think it is KNOWING HIM as much as possible in the heart of this mortal body. YES, as we study HIS word we grow spiritually in our understanding of HIM, but that genuine, inner, personal relationship with HIM is Definitely there from the very beginning of our born again eternal life in HIM.
