Yes, John 17:3 says, "This is eternal life, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ."

But, try to use skillful English comprehension when reading John17:3. Ask yourself the question, Do I have this "Eternal Life" right now on Earth? Well, no you do not. You will have Eternal Life only in Eternity after you recieve your Inheritance from God. Therefore, since you do not at this time actually possess Eternal Life, and are confined to the physical Earth, you cannot "know God." You do not yet have the "this" spoken of by John in 17:3.

Now, ask yourself this question: Do you know anything of God beyond what is given about Him in Scripture? If you do not, then you only know things about Him, and nothing more. Therefore, when someone states they "know God," is there any way they can be correct? Remembet, heart felt sincerity and busy explanations are not a test for Truth.

KNOW GOD. Interesting. When he is ready he will teach you all about himself. That why he call himself The Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Truth. YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT LIKE FOR GOD TO TEACH YOU EVERYTHING ABOUT HIMSELF. You will go insane wanting to be a kid so he can give you everything. Superpowers, videogames, friends, etc. So relax, he will teach you all about himself when he is ready.

re op.

you're right. from the world's view.

the ekklesia are acturally and truly in union with ABBA in Yahshua by being born from Him, in Him,
and
know by spirit they are His, in line with everything in the Word of Yahweh/ Torah/ Scripture.

ekklesia are so rare, you may never have met one in person.

and the counterfeit/ fake/ hypocrites so common, most of the whole world has been deceived by them or

else just simply by the world/ demons/ society/ mankind/ scholars everywhere. to be set free is a miracle

of no small proportions.

Can a ten year old understand quadratic equations? No, however, they do have a concept of math.

Can we totally know God? No, but we have the Bible and the Holy Spirit to help us.

We can know Him enough to trust Him.

Tell us what you know about God other than what is plainly stated in Scripture.

This view rejects and denies all of the scripture that teaches the present reality of possessing ETERNAL LIFE RIGHT NOW...it is the SPIRIT that has been born of God and that Spirit that has been born of God is eternal, secure, saved and justified by the perfect faith of Christ, does not sin and again I must stress is ETERNAL....

Tell us what can be known of God other than what is disclosed in Scripture. And, Lol, trust me to sayI am already so relaxed that I do not need to resort to CAPITALIZED FONT to speak in here.

Comparing a ten year anniversary old's incapacity to understand quadratics to our current inability to know God beyond what is said in Scripture is a correct analogy.

yes, a ten year old can understand and use correctly quadratic equations. already done.
do most ten year olds , or 30plus year olds, have a concept of math.... ? a few... not many.
can we totally know yahweh. 'totally' ? ? ?
can we know yahweh at all ? a few.... not many - most of the world's people reject him(it is written).
seek yahweh the creator by faith or hope or trust in yahshua(yahweh's salvation) ....
trying tu 'use' or seek or find or call on the 'holy spirit' hasn't helped anyone so far... call on yahweh in yahshua's (jesus') name. remember yahweh is holy. yahshua is holy. ekklesia immersed in yahshua's name are holy. (by yahweh's doing and word and plan and purpose)

yes. yahweh is trustworthy and faithful.

men/mankind/ overall are not.

What makes you think because YHWH is Holy that you can know Him this side of Heaven? Should we have clear thoughts, or jumbled thoughts on this issue? Remembet being all intense, sincere, and verbose does not validate one's opinions.

We live inside corpses. Our souls are eternally secure and will outlive our bodies eternally. I think we can know God by what he allows us to know. We know his nature and his revealed purposes. What we can't know, and presumably never will know, is the mind of God and his secret counsel. His wisdom has and always will surpass our own. I think we will learn from him forever and beyond. I would be more concerned with whether or not he knows me though:

[SUP]21 [/SUP]“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. [SUP]22 [/SUP]On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ [SUP]23 [/SUP]And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

We know his revealed will. We know his divine nature. We know his characteristics. We know his commands. We can learn more about him the more we study through his own guidance, through prayer, through seeking him. Will it ever be possible to fully know and understand God? Probably not. We will know what he shows us though and he has revealed himself to us through his Son. We can know him in that aspect.

Stegley, you're off base. Out in left field, I think.

Yes, you can know God personally. He clearly speaks of having a relationship with us. How can we have a relationship with someone you do not know? The Bible says that all who believe in His name are the children of God (John 1:12) and because we have been adopted as sons, we call God “Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15). Can we be His sons, and not know Him?

We not only have a relationship with our Heavenly Father but He knows us and He knows us perfectly. Why, even the hairs of our heads are all numbered by Him (John 10:14; Luke 12:7). There were times when I stop in the middle of my prayers because I became aware that He knows my thoughts even before I verbalize them. During these times, I would be still and bask in the light that He knows me perfectly. God is my Father and He cares for me (Matthew 7:9-11). And while I don’t know Him as perfectly as He knows me, I know Him well enough to love Him and put my trust in Him for eternity.

How can we know God? Can we finite beings know God who is infinite? Yes, we can, to the extent that God had revealed Himself to us. And God has revealed Himself to us through His creation, the prophets, His Son Jesus Christ and the Scriptures.

Creation declares God’s handiwork (Psalm 19:1).
Through creation, God’s eternal power and divine nature are revealed to all mankind (Romans 1:20).

Since creation is so magnificent, then has to be a Creator, and He must be powerful to create all that we see in nature. However, when this revelation that there is a Creator is rejected by men – who worship the created things rather than the Creator) – God gives them over to their sin, resulting in even greater evil-doing (Rom. 1:26-32). Man’s unrighteousness incurs God’s wrath and judgment (Romans 1:18-20).

To know God is to know His character and His ways. Moses pleaded with God to reveal His ways so that he may know God (Exodus 33:13). God’s ways – His thoughts, speech and actions – are rooted in His character. We can know God’s ways. We can know God’s responses to unrighteousness. We can know intrinsically how to plead for forgiveness and acknowledge Him as Savior and Lord. We can know how to cry out for help and redemption when all seems hopeless.

In the Old Testament, God revealed Himself to men through the prophets. Later, God spoke through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:1-2). Jesus said, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father …” (John 14:8, 9). Jesus, who was with God, has made known the Father (John 1:18).

But we have not seen Jesus! I am reminded of Jesus’ words to Thomas, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29). Knowing God requires faith, believing that God will reward those who seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

In these last days, God has spoken to us by His Son, Jesus Christ and this “speaking” is preserved for us in the New Testament (John 20:30-31). The New Testament is not the only written record of Christ, the Old Testament Scriptures are rich in prophecies concerning Him (Luke 24:27). We can only know God to the extent that He had revealed Himself to us and He has revealed His ways and His character in history through His interactions with man. God's words and works are recorded for us in the pages of the Bible. Therefore, we can know God intimately through His Word. Read and meditate upon it. Through the milk of the Word, we grow, discovering and experiencing God in our lives (1 Peter 2:2-3).

We reallycan know God! It is possible that finite man can know the infinite God! We can know God but not as He knows us (Galatians 4:9a). He knows us more than we know Him. He knows us fully but we know Him in part (1 Corinthians 13:12). We all need to learn to rest in the knowledge that God knows us perfectly. Because we believe in Him, we know Him as our Father. Through the Word, we learn of His ways, His response to man's cries for help and forgiveness, through our trials, tribulations, storms of life, and dire straits, we get to know Him better.

I would ask if you have been "born-again" have you received the Spirit of God? If you have not? you are not a real Christian and you cannot possibly understand the truth that the scripture is speaking.

1Jo 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

We who are born again have the mind of Christ. 1 Cor 2:16

Most important Christ knows me. It is a personal relationship. Not abstract but personal. I know Him and He knows me. Almighty God knows me and cares for my every need. Almighty God desires to fellowship with me and gives me a desire to be in His presence. He fills me with His Spirit and causes me to rejoice. He sustains me when I fear I might be overwhelmed.

Not only is it possible to know God it is imperative to know God.

For the cause of Christ

Yes. Many Many Many things. I know things about God
and that pertain to God that are not even written in the bible.
I know things about God that were not even revealed to any of the men
who wrote anything that is in the bible at the time they were on earth.

I know Him....... And if mankind would just give up their idols of gold and silver, wood, paper and money and simply love and work for one another; giving of themselves freely, then eternal life will reign on the earth!
