Stephen Fry explains what he would say if he was 'confronted by God' - People - News - The Independent

An openly gay actor who recently married his "boy bride" shows his ignorance on God and the Bible, which mirrors that of the Great British general public who have no Biblical knowledge. Now if you are going to rubbish God at least read the Bible and get the reasons for your argument...rather than perhaps listen to those such as Dawkins/Hitchens
He does ask some valid questions though. Haven't you ever asked about what cancer in kids is all about? Or if God's loving, why did he create us with the ability to be less than what he wanted us to be? Or if the entire universe is built by the Judeo-Christian God on his own terms and he have no control, why did he give us the ability to disobey him? Why did he build a hell that some of us go to if we don't believe he send himself to appease himself for the imperfect race which he created?

I mean, aren't those questions quite impossible to answer satisfactorily given that God professes to be all loving? How can hell, for instance, a place of unending, eternal, agonizing torment, have any connotation with the word love, which means patience, kindness, forebearance, forgiveness, truthfulness, selflessness and compassion?

Revelation 13:6 "And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven."

Revelation 16:11 "And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds."

Most of the answers to this are in Genesis. When God created it all he saw that "it was good", God created a perfect earth. He didn't create "robots" he wanted us to have free will and with that free will sin came into the world causing it to become less than perfect.
God doesn't send anyone to Hell, Hell is separation from God which is a choice Stephen Fry has made along with millions of others. Don't take my word for it, it's all in the Bible - all the answers.

What loving choice is there in 'submit to lifelong prostration for having the ability for imperfection (which I gave you) or burn for eternity'. How is that even a choice?

1. We were made perfect by God
2. Of course it's a choice, God gave us choice.

God gives us a choice to follow him or not, So the choice is for anyone anywhere to take. hence free will. If he made us like robots from the beginning, you think we would be having this convo now? God can give and he can take away, he is God, he created us, with free will to foloow him, and choose him, or follow the enemy, and choose pain, illness, sickness, deceases, from our sin.

What Steven Fry asked those questions, perhaps there is a sense of blaming of God for Kids having cancer or other types of illness and sickness. Perhaps he is not seeing what sin has relation with this illness and stuff. But He can heal, and thats what he is relying on us to believe, so there is another choice there. so God does give us choices. We lack the ability to get it right sometimes.

Not to mention that those questions can all be answered by the Word of God in some form and or fashion to some extent.....maybe not verbatim, but in principle and in truth......!

1. We were made perfect by God
2. Of course it's a choice, God gave us choice.
Assuming the bible is true:

We were made with the capacity for sin, and were destined to become sinful (as per God having the ability to see the future and still making us with the capacity for sin regardless), and to be trapped in a sinful nature which is in God's eyes inadequate and can only be overcome by belief that he send himself to appease himself for our sakes. It was never our choice to become immersed in sinfulness, we were determined to it.

If we are determined to death and pain and anguish (since God decided to make us with the capacity for sin knowing that in the future we would succumb to it), then God and his constraints are responsible for our sinful nature.

We did not create ourselves with the capacity for sin. God created us with the capacity for it.

So, the question still remains. How can that be synonymous with love?

Yeah no doubt.....My son had a lesbian nurse once and she was going to have a little talk with God about his stance on it......arrogance to the extreme....what everybody will do is crack their knees and CONFESS to the glory of God.....and those who have not acknowledge him will be cast from his presence for an eternal swim in the proverbial lake-o-fire........!

There's a difference between an honest truth seeker asking questions of God and His trained apologists to uncover answers and a hardened immoral sinner attacking God rhetorically.

The MadParrotWoman is right. Reasonable, logical, moral answers exist to every one of the "questions" this man whose life is in a state of colossal ignorance, immorality, and rebellion against God posited.

He just never took the time to find out what they were. Presumably, because he was too busy living a life immersed in immorality and atheism and never actually wanted to know.

Moved by God's Spirit, Peter put it like this around AD 50: "Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts..." -2 Peter 3:3.

These questions are not "quite impossible to answer satisfactorily" for God or educated Christian apologists who have already answered every one of them and published their answers repeatedly.

Instead of making false assertions that aren't true, you both could have found the answers to every one of them on Amazon.

Instead, they choose not to as they go on liberal talk shows and Internet forums making false assertions about questions that have already been answered in an exercise of ignorant futile fallacious rhetoric as they go "from bad to worse deceiving and being deceived" inside where it really matters.

There are many educated, worldly men who spend more time bloviating instead of actually being honest with what the bible has to say and or teach.........

People of this world think that they have to wait to 'get to the pearly gates' to speak to God and ask Him questions. They don't know that He is closer than anything in this world can be to them and that they can speak to Him and ask Him questions now. I guess when your spiritually dead, how can you think that you could, I once didn't...

He better be careful, God will not be mocked...

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil );
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died .

The man who built the Titanic:
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be.
With an ironic tone he said: “Not even God can sink it”
The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic .

John Lennon (Singer):
Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:
“Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, Today we are more famous than Him” (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ),
while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:“God, that’s for you.”
He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show.
He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:
“I don’t need your Jesus”.
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment .

Campinas (IN 2005);
In Campinas, Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend…..
The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:
“My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You..”
She responded: “Only If He (God) TravelsIn The Trunk, Cause Inside Here…..It’s Already Full ”
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died,
the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact.
The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken .

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer):
said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.
In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle .

Scary and very sad!
P.S. About TITANIC... remember the Greek "titans" it means something big... this goes back to old language and the nephilim... teitan/titan is the same as seitan (satan).
That ship was kind of an opposite to the Ark of Noah.
Pride of man, the biggest and most "safe" ever, named even after the devil... and that's why it failed.
