God gave His all and we want to talk about giving 10% back to help out the church? Yes, you have free will to do whatever you want to do but I suggest you remember the consequences of your choices.

My brother Ola, the Lord says if any lack wisdom, ask Him and He will give it to you. I pray you do just that. It is more important that you look to Jesus for all your concerns than to look to man. Never, ever accept man's word over the Holy Spirit speaking in your heart and giving you perfect peace about a matter. I pray in Jesus' name you receive the Lord's answer and not any man.

landowners in the OT were instructed to bring a tenth of their crops to the priests at certain times, and the purpose was clearly written.

jesus in the NT instructed the disciples who he called to follow him differently. look it up. look up what jesus told his disciples they would have to give up if they were willing to be (freely joyfully willing, completely) his disciples.

jesus did not give the disciples choice whether to obey him or not. if they were his disciple, they did as he says. if not, they left him.

It doesn't matter whether you pay tithe or not. You can't buy love. God do not need money only human do. He can make money appear from no where. Free will...well... I don't know if I have the right to give you the answer, but ponder about it. If God knows everything, past, present, future, Do you have free will? So relax let him be a God and Father you be a human and say this is all your fault. Don't be afraid of him.

Tithing is in the Word of God. Old Testament and New Testament are man's attempt to present the bible in an orderly manner but it is all God's word. Yes, it indeed is proper to tithe. There will be a blessing for having done so, either in this life or the next. Tithing is a Christian thing to do.

we see it in the OT show it in the NT...there is the principle of reciprocity but that does not only apply to Christians Luke 6:38
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Christians are required to love....
1 Corinthians 13:3
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Tithing is a way of us giving back to God a portion of what he gave to you.

As per free will well that could be a huge debate which I will not get into but I can tell you what to do according to "will". Live your life according to God's Will then you will never have to worry about what "free will" is or is not.

God's Will for all of our lives as Christians is to glorify Him. If you can do that then no worries. The more we actually worry about or debate about "free will" in my opinion means we are not living according to God's will thus we must have a look at who we want to follow...ourselves or God.

If God is NOT in ANY building made with human hands, how then can any "percentage" of paper printed from another godless building be fruitful to Him?

The bible states that it was the king the people demanded that asked for a tenth of all you were and made. And AGAIN this ties back into that "law" we love to talk about so much.

God does not need money. He made us. How then does He need something to tell us that He did?

The tithe(tenth part) was given as a sign for the Lords portion of his people for the priesthood, but few can receive this saying because they are yet in the flesh.

Isaiah 6:13
But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

Free will is the "will" you exercised when you decided to publish this post about tithing in the Church today.........unless you believe God preordained that you would publish this post, then that would mean your entire life you were predestined to publish this post and had no choice in the matter.............

Now, go forth and care for the widows and orphans as is instructed in Scripture..............God bless

This isn't about tithing.

Then I(Isaiah) said, “For how long, Lord?”

And he(Lord) answered:
“Until the cities lie ruined
and without inhabitant,
until the houses are left deserted
and the fields ruined and ravaged,
until the Lord has sent everyone far away
and the land is utterly forsaken.
And though a tenth remains in the land,
it will again be laid waste.
But as the terebinth and oak
leave stumps when they are cut down,
so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.”
-Isaiah 6:11-13

There were at least 3 types of tithes paid in the O.T. I don't know why tithe-teaching churches only teach about 1. A good Bible dictionary will reveal this.

If people are going to tithe as taught in the O.T., it's well over 20%.

If they wish to go by the N.T. standard, 2 Cor 9:7 reveals the answer...

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor 9:7
