You warned them to obey your teachings , but in pride they rejected your laws , although keeping your law is the way to life. ObstiAnate and stubborn , they refused to obey. neh 9 :29.

The text above is talking about keeping God's law , commandments and instructions neither through GOD himself to you or through a prophet or a servant of God to you. The ten commandments is not the only law of God to keep but also every instructions giving to you by God or through his servant .
The scripture above says keeping his law is the way of life....meaning keeping God 's law, command and instruction gives meaningful life , gives a fulfillment life , a promising life, a worthy life ! but due to our stubbornness and trust in human capacity we fail just like our ancestors who were filled with so much pride . when God instructs we obey not obeying God instructions can cost us our life.
King saul , the first king of Israel lost it all because of not obeying Samuel the prophet whom God used to speak to his people, so many like that in the bible and in our present days too. The bible says in 2thes 5 :19-22, that you should not restrain the holy spirit; do not despise inspired messages . Put all things to test : keep what is good and avoid every kind of evil. what this verse is saying is that you should not say no to what the holy spirit says to you and do not turn deaf ear to the word of the servant of GOD to you but should test all , both the holy spirit and the message of the prophets or servant of GOD if really they are from GOD. This is a typical example of this , the story of the prophet God sent to warn Jeroboam in bethel and the old prophet that intercepted him on his way home , the prophet from Judah did not test the message of the old prophet of bethel and also disobeyed GOD instructions to him and that caused him his life.1king 13: 1-31. Same happens to us all everyday of our life, it may not necessary be a prophet or a servant of GOD , God himself can speak to you and can send anyone to do same , our own is to test and obey . May we be filled with the spirit of discernment in Jesus name ....Amen ! so as not to fall to evil and disobey God's instructions .

Obedience is an important step in a believers life even though some do not like to admit it, or accept it.
The difference also that some do not like to look at is that changes were made from the Mosaic covenant to the new covenant that we are under. One of those changes is that we are not under the 613 Mosaic laws, and Acts 15 clears this up. Paul shows also in Romans 13:9 how the 10 Commandments still apply as well, as part of the moral laws of God that are written in our hearts...

Do not want to practice the law fine. This will be your conversation with Jesus.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

What is God's will?
John 6:40
this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life

Are those who preach works of the law obeying God's will?

Gal 3:12
The law is not of faith,

Gal 5:4
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Gal 3:3
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Gal 2:16
Knowing that a man is not
justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

God's will that Jesus spoke of in Matt 7:21 is that we believe on Jesus (John 6:40).

Those who preach works of the law are not walking by faith (Gal 3:12).
Those who preach works of the law are in unbelief.
Those who preach works of the law are those who practice lawlessness (Matt 7:23) as they are under the law (Rom 3:19) and are therefore judged as guilty of all the law (James 2:10).

Repent of dead works of self-righteousness (Heb 6:1) and obey God's will to believe on Jesus (John 6:40).

Let's just concentrate on what Jesus said. Of course if you believe God's prophets you will get eternal life.

What did Jesus do just be fore he ascended to God (not himself) ? He told his followers to learn the law from the Pharisees and do as they say not do. Then Paul comes along, finds the religion a whole lot more marketable if he throws out the law.

As you openly state you are not a Christian, why on earth would you assume your insight into the Christian Faith would hold any value for anyone?

fair enough, but you should find a new Scripture to support your comment....and edit your OP (although it's far too late to do that now) to reflect this........just saying........
