Does anyone else have this struggle. Here let me explain the way I feel some times. I know in my mind that God is real. But I know in an unreal way. Kind of like when you learn something in your science class you know it is real but you are not going to let it change you. If you get what I mean, you know it is true but you almost don't believe it. I fiend myself doing this with God. If I fully believed in God and everything in the Bible wouldn't I be living so much different. Now don't get me wrong I am not living this supper sinful life or anything. My sin is more of the sin of not doing. How do you come to the point where you fully put everything in Christ. The point where your faith leads you to full surrender. Where you no longer think about tomorrow because you know God holds your life.
Do you have a doubtless faith if so can you help me to believe with out doubt as well. Or have you too had this struggle? What do you think it says about me that I feel this way?

An easy way no matter what your situation is to play the game I posted...otherwise...the answer is always....

Luke 10:38-42King James Version (KJV)

38*Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39*And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

40*But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41*And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42*But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Mark 9:24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
My favorite story on doubt in the Bible has to be in Mark 9 where Jesus heals a boy from an unclean spirit. The story is basically about a man who brings his son to Jesus. His son had been suffering with terrible seizures for years, often almost rolling into a fire or water. The man, who obviously cares for his son, had undoubtedly tried many things to heal his son, but nothing had worked. When he finally tried Jesus, he was weary, and simply said, "IF you can, please heal him." Jesus responds with one of the funniest remarks he makes in Scripture. "IF I can?"

Then the man says something really profound: "I do believe. Help me overcome my unbelief". Here is a man who wants so badly to believe that Jesus can heal his son, but he has seen so many things and experienced so many failures that he finds in himself an inability to believe. So he asked Christ for help. Help to believe. If you are struggling with doubt, ask God to help you overcome your unbelief.

I pray so often that God will give me a greater faith but still this remains my struggle. Then I have this going through my head James 4:3 "you do not receive because you ask and do not believe" but what I ask for is belief. So what?

What I don't get the point?
You asked...
How do I come to the point...etc.

I replied showing you what the one needful thing is to come to that point...drum roll please for the one needful thing...
Sitting at Jesus feet and hearing His word. Earth is His footstool.

You will not regret trusting the scripture given.

The game I mentioned is just a help to have continual time sitting at Jesus feet and hearing His word.

Great portion of scripture for sure.

14*And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.

15*And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.

16*And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?

17*And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;

18*And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.

19*He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

20*And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

21*And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

22*And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

23*Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

24*And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

25*When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

26*And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.

27*But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

28*And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?

29*And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

I spend time in prayer and reading the Bible, but is it that changes it from just motions to something that really changes you. That makes you give everything you own away because you are putting others before yourself.
I am just wondering. Have you ever given all your money away to the point that you did not have money for food housing etc?

Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Now, this Scripture may be taken a bit out of context, but I always saw this as a challenge from God. Basically He's saying, "If you seek me with all you got, you're going to find me." What does it mean to seek with all your heart? It means not to sit idly by saying to yourself, "Oh God, where are you?" but actively fighting to keep your faith alive. Because that's what you're doing here; you're fighting for your faith. If you do nothing, the doubt will consume you to the point of unbelief. And you'll find that the only thing holding you on to the faith is your desire to believe-not any actual belief.

Yes I have given everything, and you will not regret it if you trust in this way.
It was such a great experience to go into the woods and fast for 40 days and nights with just me and God...sitting/laying at his feet and hearing His word.

I often wonder if that is the issue. I always have everything that I need so I do not need to rely on him I am trusting in things instead of God.

This is pretty typical of the christian walk...

For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
(Gal 5:17)

We have a battle between believing (of the Spirit) and unbelief (of the flesh) and it often trickles down to our actions.

So would you say the key is action? Just follow what the Bible says no madder how you feel. Do you think that brings faith?

Our actions are from a preceeding work of God's grace. As we abide in His Word His Spirit works His grace in our lives. But the struggle with the flesh/unbelief is lifelong...it makes us continually dependent on His grace.

Well there is the verse in the Bible Matthew 7:27 talking about all the things in His name but then he said I do not know you. Which is scary you know. But then I think well it makes no sense what so ever to just sit in your house praying for faith and not doing anything. I guess surrender must bring faith.

Sorry...don't know what that word means. Why would you believe it's a temporary fix? Have you experienced such? Permanent no doubt...hence...the game which promotes spending continual time at Jesus feet and hearing His word.
