God save America,

America is turning it's back on God, Don't believe me? Look around you Tell me what do you see? Look at all the things that have been happening! We have taken God and to molded Him into something He is not! We try to limit God! we put Him in His little corner there and say there's yours box God don't come over here.

Look at our people in government. Federal judges who hypocritically open their courts with a prayer ("God save the United States and this honorable court") and take their oath ("So help me God") while prohibiting public displays that acknowledge the sovereignty of God have placed themselves above the law, making their opinions the new standard of right and wrong. As a result, our country is being led to deny the existence of the Creator God.

Jeremiah said it best when he wrote, "And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely. O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return." (Jer 5:2-3)

We must understand that no governing authority can place itself above God or the law. Jesus Himself said to Pilate, "Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above" We need to remember who is the one that gives us power to be the leaders of the free world and if we turn our backs from God that power He gave us will be stripped and taken away. We must remain a nation Under God or We will be a nation gone under.

Yet God has Promised in His Word that, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.(2 Chronicles 7:14) Only God can heal our land.

As a Nation We need to repent and turn ourselves to God and acknowledge Him in our government and only then can we have that revival that we have so longed for and waited all these years.

I couldn't agree more! While I'm certain that there are those out there who believe the various aspects of the crisis America currently faces is nothing more than the fulfillment of scripture (and I would agree with that assessment), ultimately the responsiblity to preach and teach the good news of Jesus Christ is up to us and we've dropped the ball because we're always trying to hand that responsibility to someone else. It's past time to not only pick up the ball but also to run with it especially now that the end is in sight!

The problem with the nation of America is the church in America. Unless the church repents and does his will why should he be concerned with the pagans.

The church is supposed to be the pillar and ground of the truth with the commission to make disciples.

If we want American saved, then we need to save souls one at a time and equip them to do the same. Geometric progression can turn the tide in a hurry.

If 5,000 Christians each won one and trained that one to do the same and so on watch the numbers:

5k
10k
20k
40k
80k
160k
320k
640k
1280k
etc.

Actually probably more attention needs to be directed towards the unevangelised world where there is only 1 missionary for thousands of people and whole areas that have not heard the Gospel, whereas in America and other countries like my own there is 1 missionary per 100 or so, and if people's hearts are hardened then they are hardened and more focus needs to be made on the areas that are eager and willing to receive the Gospel like South East Asia, India, Nepal etc

By the way I don't believe a government needs to acknolwedge God in order for the church to evangelise.
I know most Americans are extremely patriotic about their country and get lots of emotion about slogans such as "one nation under God" , "in God we trust" and all this..but frankly slogans and standing on street corners with anti abortion or anti gay signs never saved anyone. So I wouldn't worry about what the government does, or says.. it didn't seem to worry the early church. Under anti-Christian governments the Church generally tends to thrive anyway.

What America needs are soul-winners.......We need preachers that preach AGAINST sin! Woe to those silent churches who do not take a stand against injustice and wickedness! That goes for all around the world, but I'm using the U.S. as an example...I heard of a great prayer that speaks of the sin America condones....sorry I do not know the credentials of this prayer, but its a good one:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done...

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and call it Pluralism.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

Amen!"

Roaring again I agree 100%. Man, you have a wonderful heart for God, that I am sure of. There aren't that many who believe as you do that I have encountered who are as sincere about God as you appear to be and for that my friend I applaud you!

Be Blessed!

All good points in this thread, to me the last nail in America's spiritual coffin was the removal of prayer in schools. This country is on a path that really concerns me and I don't see any way for it to reverse itself. God has a plan though. :)

Naz, you are a great encouragement to me ya know...Just had to let you know....We may not see eye to eye on certain issues, but I still love ya brother!!!! My heart just aches for those that are hopelessly lost in America....They keep going down the pathway to destruction, and yet our churches are quiet on the matter. Now a days, preaching against sin in some parts of America is considered hate speech and many Christians will either stand up for the Lord or just go with the flow and let people die in their sins.......I just couldn't imagine how a TRUE genuine Christian could be silent on the matters in America! Take the opportunity to take a stand against sin and preach the gospel! Something we all should(including me) take a more prominent role in.

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is WISE." Proverbs 11:30

"And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:15

"For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!"
1 Corinthians 9:16

All knowledge you can have and still not be wise. Ya want to know the SECRET to a start to wisdom??? Evangelism. Not just doing it because you have to, but because you love the Lord. Seek humility and you get wisdom, get wise by sharing the gospel.

Roaring, I find your fire for the Lord and His righteousness to be very encouraging as well.

I meet a lot of folks daily who, in my opinion, act like religious robots because they are so consumed with sin & pride in their lives. In all honesty to me it's as if they use OSAS doctrine as an excuse to do all sorts of sinful stuff without any respect for God or His word. I guess that's why I'm such a staunch critic of the doctrine. HOWEVER... Seeing your genuine passion and fire for the Lord has helped me to see that not everyone who believes in this doctrine has fallen into an intricate web of sin. I'm soooo glad to see it!

Keep the fires burning my friend... one day I pray that we will have the opportinuty to meet in heaven and worship the Lord together!
