Relax, and rest in Jesus' peace that passes all understanding. If you rejected the Holy Spirit you probably wouldn't care at this point, and would be completely satisfying the lusts of your flesh. Your'e heart would be stony, and the last thing you'd be thinking of is Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Having said that, don't do that anymore please.

Jezzie, answer one question for me: Do you believe Jesus Christ is the Savior, who died for your sins to pay their price, and rose from the dead to give you eternal life?

If you answered "Yes" you didn't commit the "unforgivable sin." That sin is denying the truth the Holy Spirit reveals. You didn't, and you can't, because He lives in you.

Blasphemy of the Spirit applies to people that deliberately link Him to works of evil, while knowing enough not to do that. That's just one test, there being a "checklist most Christians can't honestly say they yet qualify to check them all as to their credit. The Jewish leadership, that had enough knowledge to know better, that esus reprimanded, were very close to that sin unto death.

Here's part A of the warning. Hebrews 6:4-6 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
[SUP]5 [/SUP] And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
[SUP]6 [/SUP] If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

1. Once enlightened....eyes opened to the revelation of Jesus as Lord as well as savior
2. AND tasted of the Heavenly gift.....taken of the body and blood of Jesus in the Spirit (not meaning the communion ordinance)
3. AND filled with the Holy Spirit with scriptural evidence of that
4. AND the mind renewed with the full gospel of Christ AND the acceptance of miracles, abilities promised
5. (and) therefore become apostate

It takes a lot of spiritual maturity to comply with all that, much Bible study, much revelation from the Holy Spirit towards going from mental acknowledgment to spiritual understanding. Now let's look at the second list.

Hebrews 10:26-29 (KJV)
[SUP]26 [/SUP] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[SUP]27 [/SUP] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
[SUP]28 [/SUP] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
[SUP]29 [/SUP] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

6. Sin intentionally, God knowing a decision to live a sin lifestyle is permanent, while knowing what God thinks of it
7. Shamed Jesus publicly in a wicked manner, while fully equipped not to do things like that
8. Believes the blood of Jesus is unholy, despising that
9. The end step.....insulting the Holy Spirit, the very agent that ministers your salvation. It matters much if a person meets all those points as far as can be known from the revelation of the New Testament scriptures.

If #9 occurs in ignorance of the above, then repent of whatever led to that, be forgiven, and do the first works again, continuing all your days being a good student and effective disciple of Jesus. The more we gain of the mind of Christ, the less likely we would have fear of committing the sin against the Holy Spirit. That's why the judgment over that is so severe, there being no excuse among the learned who have experienced the fullness of Jesus. Only you can work that out with the Lord.

I agree, your concern about it an indication of being convinced (not "convicted") of the Spirit to change course. Anytime a ship strays off course it is delayed in reaching it's destination, and being exposed to additional dangers. Head straight for Jesus, and fear not.

There are only two things that constitute blasphemy against the Holy Spitit:

1} Attributing to Satan the work of the Holy Spirit.
2) Attributing to the Holy Spirit the work of Satan.

There are a great many other wrong things people that may even involve the Holy Spirit; but none of them are blasphemy against Him.

Brother Marc, so are you saying that if a person involved in the occult who has given tribute to the devil things that God should receive glory for, that person will not be forgiven?

And are you saying that the Pharisees who accused Jesus of having the devil inside of Him were never going to be forgiven?

My dear sister,

I am defining as best I understand it what the words mean.

Here is the context

Mk 3:22-30
22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

Sis, although you were given answers to this question when you had asked it back on August 17th 2013.
ok thank u godbless u :D
You are obviously still struggling with whether or not you committed blasphemy and whether or not you have been forgiven. It's fair to say that God suffers our ignorance and unbelief while we are in our youth and when we speak and act without much consideration of what we are saying or doing. Paul committed blasphemy and was forgiven because he did it in ignorance and unbelief. Many men look at precepts given by God as set in stone and rightfully so but God is also incredibly merciful and He decides who He is going to forgive and who He will not forgive. Blasphemy is a serious and fatal error but in your case you have been granted repentance or you would not be asking this question again and the topic would not be weighing so heavy upon your mind for the last 2 years.......

Matthew 9:13
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

1 Timothy 1:12-17

12And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; 13Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 15This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 16Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. 17Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Praise God for His mercy Sis, and tell others how God has granted you a sinner, mercy through repentance :)

This seems to be a particular fear that hits folks with trouble controlling their thoughts, people in the ADD crowd and OCD especially.
I remember when I first read about this sin in a book it set off a several year firestorm in my life of panic and fear and oh did I just commit it. I would go for weeks or months in full on panic attacks, trouble breathing complete and utter hopeless condemnation.

I would recommend meeting with your pastor, getting involved in some sort of study and working on a way to take captive your thoughts as the scripture says.

Look, ask yourself what is satan's main goal concerning you. I would submit it is to prevent you from being an effective follower of Christ, spreading His Gospel, ministering to the poor and downtrodden, having His Grace flow through you to anyone and everyone around you. Satan tried to use Scripture to tempt even Jesus. He knows the word, and he knows how to use it against you. KEEP THE FOCUS OFF OF YOU AND YOUR SINS, PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE, AND FOCUS ON JESUS AND HIS PERFECT SACRIFICE FOR YOU, JESS. You weren't even born before He paid for ALL of your sins.

Remember Romans 10:9-10 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

blaspheming the Holy Spirit, or God or Jesus, means that you deny that they exist..when you're worried or being tormented, don't say darn God or darn Jesus or darn the Holy Spirit.. PRAY instead of darning the trinity..

KJV
Remember that repentance is always a condition of forgiveness, as well as forgiving others.
Adding to that another account with more detail:

Matthew 12:32 (KJV)
[SUP]32 [/SUP] And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

God had Paul to write up the 8 points in Hebrews that together amount to the sin unto death (#9), so blasphemy against the Spirit would have to satisfy all those signs leading up to an accountable sin that is beyond forgiveness, due to lack of another acceptable sacrifice for sin. The scribes were very close to doing that, but technically they were speaking a word against Jesus, saying he had an evil spirit. They were in ignorance of concepts like a man having the actual Spirit of God living within him. They could take that as far as tolerating the Spirit to rest upon a man, to anoint him as king, for instance. They believed that way because no mere mortal man had yet received the Holy Spirit like we do in Christ.

By the way, Christians ought to be very slow about saying someone claiming to be a believer, having the Spirit of God in them, is possessed of a devil because of some sin that is forgivable. Yet, if done in ignorance, that too is forgivable. But once anyone meets all those conditions, basically as close to the Lord as any of the 12 apostles, it is accountable to him/her. We are taught by them to do as they did.

God is Faithful, if a person Truly repents, feels sorry for, AND never again does that particular sin, WILL BE FORGIVEN. There is only one sin that is committed that a person can't repent from, and that is suicide. There is no possible was to repent after that deed is done. NO you can't repent of a sin, that you have not yet committed, it does not work that way.
Worrying is a sin. If you continue to worry, you continue to sin.
i DiscipleDave am a servant of Jesus Christ, and i am telling you, that if you NEVER again say that about the Holy Ghost, then you are forgiven. Believe and stop worrying about it. When you stand before God on Judgement Day and He asks you about what you said, tell Him "Your servant DiscipleDave told me i was forgiven of it" He will move on to the next judgements concerning you.
Again, Any sin a person commits, if they Truly feel sorry for that sin, and vow never to do it again, will be forgiven by God for that sin, but never do it again.
