Tit 2:11 ¶ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 ¶ These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

This one is always a party pleaser.

Romans 6:15

What then? shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? GOD FORBID.
What are you saying then? That because we are not under the law but under grace that we are going to sin? God forbids that. Don’t you understand that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

In other words, once you are bought by the Blood of Jesus, the Holy Spirit is your Master, and God forbids that you will continue in sin BECAUSE BY HIS GRACE YOU ARE NOW UNDER HIS CONTROL.

You cannot understand this spiritual truth with your carnal mind – this is a spiritual reality.

Jeremiah in the 31st chapter tells us that the Israelites found GRACE in the wilderness. They really did experience the depths of God's love.

I think what some people cannot grasp is that the grace of God is more powerful than the power of sin. It is too astonishing for them to believe that the Lord can make a person obey Him, just as He made the wind and sea obey Him.

Yes, it is impossible with man, but not with God. Again, the carnal mind will never, ever, ever, E-V-E-R fathom the reality of God. It is by faith that you will "see" the reality of God's grace. May your eyes be open in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord!

I don't have to say anything, just quote a verse of scripture and watch the accusations fly! LOL (P.S. by the way, that was not what I was saying) :)

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Yes, in the Rom 6 context Paul is making a contrast between "law" referring to the OT law of Moses and "grace" referring to Christ's NT law. Paul was writing to Jewish Christians in rOme that were still clinging to that OT law.

Some claim they are under grace but not law. John said sin is transgression of the law. So if these people were not under any law at all, then they would be perfectly sinless. Since they are not sinless, their sinning proves they are under law, Christ's NT law.

The irony is this; what would they know about grace if it were not for law? Nothing, for law tells us how to access grace Rom 5:1,2.

In Rom 4 Paul said where there is no law there is no transgression. If one did not transgress and thereby be perfectly sinless then he would not need grace for grace is for those if us that do sin and fall short putting us in need of grace.

Law then gives us knowledge of our sin and if we were not aware of our sin we could not appreciate a gift as precious as grace.

Sadly, I see, this thread intended to only EDIFY the Church has turned into JUST ANOTHER thread in the Bible Discussion Forum.

Being as it is apparent that edification is not acceptable here...............y'all enjoy.......I'm through with this one.

Truly, truly sad when professed believers can not lay aside their theological/denominational ideology long enough to just experience the joy of edification.

Maybe a Mod will venture by and just delete the whole thing.

On the contrary my Brother, this thread gives some people hope and I'm grateful to you for sharing.

Keep providing the much needed hope that some folks desperately need. God bless you!

I know we arent talking (that aside for Christ sake) I agree, and this has been true all of my ten years online.

As you know my husband is beside me as I post often, and will watch what I point out to him just for the sheer entertainment of it (and as you know he is an unbeliever)

This is so true though, and not just here but everywhere

"For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace." John 1:16

"Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? [SUP]11 [/SUP]But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.” Acts 15:10-11

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, [SUP]24 [/SUP]and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus," Romans 3:23-24

"But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. [SUP]16 [/SUP]And the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ." Romans 5:15-17

Evidently you are not ignoring me. I came here to discuss grace, EVERYTHING about grace and I included book chapter and verses about grace in my initial post. If the grace only crowd do not want to discuss all the aspects of God's grace but just cherry pick certain verse and misapply, then I agree with you, delete this thread!!!!

1Pe 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
