Who was the first socialist of mentioned in the New Testament? He's much like the socialists today. He shows how hard he works for the poor in John 12:1-6. You'll have to look it up if you don't know what John chapter 12 is about...it was not long before the crucifying of the Lord where one of Jesus' disciples was calling for social justice on behalf of the poor.

If you don't know already, will you look it up and tell me who was the first socialist mentioned in the Bible. Isn't he just like the socialists of today?

......signature of me here, I want my posts to be always pointing to the gospel, with any entertainment baits only designed to get lost people to read more in hope they will see the glorious light of the gospel and their darkened minds be enlightened. Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
Judas appeared to be caring in the fact that he wanted to give and yet he was putting on a front much like many today. People want power and some will do anything to get it. This reminds me of the Chick Tract below.

Thanks for defending Canadians, but our Constitution was repatriated in 1982. The Canada Act brought the constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms back to Canada. The Queen's last act was to sign this act.

We run our own show now. As a member of the British Commonwealth, we can participate in the Commonwealth Games, and yes, we send some money to support our figure head, the Queen, represented by the Governor General.

She has absolutely no rights, and we can go to war, as we want, and basically do our own thing. We did not go to war in the Falkland Islands when Britain did, and we are independently fighting in Afghanistan right now. Not so in WWI and WWII, we were under England's rule, but that is the fact now. And yes, we can even amend our own constitution, without regards to the Queen of England.

The Constitution

Constitution Act, 1982 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Actually I was born and raised in NS.All my kin are there.I know the Queen is a figure head but I thought things still had to be passed by her and signed before it could be instituted.Ive been out of the country over a decade but I had thought when there was some issue there with Quebec that nothing could be done because the Queen had to approve it. I must have miss understood that somehow...

Yes, technically, Quebec never signed, but they just overrode them. I think, like Australia we need to get rid of the Queen as even a figure head. Although maybe still stay part of the Commonwealth. My son lived in NS a few years, while is wife went to medical school. He said it was a very poor province and they moved to Alberta where the jobs and money are.

Always remember that Marx hated Christ and christianity. So did also his "followers" like Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin. The early soviets in particular were fiercely anti-christ/ian, they even erected at least one statue of Judas Iscariot under the supervision of freemason Lev Trotsky (Lev Davidovich Bronshtein). To say things like "Jesus was the first marxist/socialist" is nothing but blasphemy. At best done in ignorance or mere stupidity, else there would certainly be darker motives for such statements.

All this talk about the Joys of the Socialist Society...........funny........am I the only one who finds it odd that when all these wonderful Progressive thinking Socialist countries find themselves staring down the barrel of a really big tank gun, the first person they run to for help is the US?

Without the US.........how many FREE countries would exist around the world?

Seriously............goodness

The US and it's Army
The World adores
In times of war
And no more
With the victory won
And all things righted
The Army is cursed
And the US slighted...............

(sometimes, just sometimes, a simple "thank you" would be nice)

Were they in Halifax? A lot has changed since I left home.I know there are great jobs out west.My cousins boy is single and he works in logging I think. They fly him out west for a few months then back to NS.My moms family is from NFLD and I hear they are really doing well as far as jobs and things opening up all of a sudden.

It probably would be good of Canada to get rid of the Queen so to speak. But a lot of people still love the monarchy and with young people coming up I doubt the majority of people would want to change the relationship with England.Would be interesting to see a poll though.

You got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?;)

You know, all folks are the same, whenever there's a threat they are in the need of an army...whenever there's not a threat they really don't need no army...really don't. Which makes the threat come back to haunt them...and where's that army again?:p

Apparently, after reading several anit-American, anti-Israel threads across these Forums, I got up on the wrong side of the world..........but, thank God, I got up on the right side of right! :)

I find the gospel of JESUS was not just for the poor poverty stricken people. JESUS faced rich people, socialites, religious leaders of HIS day and more. Paul faced kings, prince and princess's. THE WORD was not limited to social status. That is why when you mention Socialism..it went over my head like a lead balloon!

The United Kingdom is a developed country with comparatively large[SUP][citation needed][/SUP] income differences. As such, those at the lower end of the income distribution have a relatively low standard of living. However, new data released by Department for Work and Pensions show that the number of people living in the UK in relative poverty has risen over the past two years. There are now 10.6 million people in relative poverty, up from 9.7 million in 2012.[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP] In 2014, another report by Institute for Fiscal Studies said that 23.2% of Britons were now in relative poverty, the highest since 2001.[SUP][3][/SUP]
It has been found by the Poverty and Social Exclusion project at Bristol University in 2014,[SUP][4][/SUP] that the proportion of households lacking three items or activities deemed necessary for life in the UK at that time (as defined by a survey of the wider population) has increased from 14% in 1983 to 33% in 2012.[SUP][5][6][7][/SUP]

Great Britian

The income poverty rate varies substantially between ethnic groups: Bangladeshis (65%), Pakistanis (55%) and black Africans (45%) have the highest rates; black Caribbeans (30%), Indians (25%), white Other (25%) and white British (20%) have the lowest rates.

I am all for socialism. It means the poor do not have to go hungry; the rich can stay rich, but help the poor; and medical care for everyone. A job for everyone would be nice too, in a perfect world.

To name only a few things. Just coming from the middle in Canada. The US and the two party capitalist system is not working well, so try not to criticize countries which have a "mixed" economy, which means both capitalism and socialism, and it is working very, very well. As in, everyone has health care, everyone is fed, housed and clothed, and the debt is being paid down. And the rich are doing very nicely, too!

At least the U.S. has finally surpassed Cuba. For several years the third world nation of Cuba has had a higher ranking than the U.S.

I think there is one area that we still lead the world in though, personal bankruptcy due to medical costs.

I know what I mean and I stand by my words, I don't however know what you mean, and at this point I don't care. And how about showing some respect for our Creator and capitalize His name when you type it. I have never put anyone on ignore but I might as well with you since I don't know what the heck you're saying.
