Hebrews 6:6 vs romans 8:38
In the book of Romans - the Apostle Paul romantically proclaims: Nothing shall separate us from the Love of God -
it seems to be the ultimate revelation - that in such a state of grace - to be under the power of God in the fullness
of Christ - was to fully accept and to know God's love toward us - so much so that we would no longer desire the things of the flesh - nor to live an ordinary life - and as Jesus said - No man that loves God sins-1 John 3:9
but you might find it that every day - people do sin - and some of them sin openly - and many sin ignorantly - not knowing the entire word of God in its totality.
So if you compare the powerful statement of Romans 8:38 to Hebrews 6:6 - you could argue of a paradox - or as a believer start to panic that your continuing on in the faith despite your sins and your necessary act(s) of repentance was (were) and (is) a total waste of time- but this false conclusion is an error in the framing of the scripture - the
structure and the context of the verses - this is the danger of people or groups using the word of God out of context. Another quick example would be: Money is the root of ALL evil! but that is not what the word says- it says
Money is the root of ALL KINDS of evil.1 Timothy 6:10
I have found a litany of the passage in Hebrews 6:6 Hebrews 6:6 Commentaries: and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. that explains the words may be slightly tweaked in their English translation out of Greek - that in the reality of that time period - and in context to the writer - the word was specifically for those of the nation of Israel - the Jews who would turn to Christ - believe that we could only be saved by grace - and then turn their backs on the blood of Christ - going back to the power of Law over the power of God's Grace would be to openly crucify him(Jesus) again - putting him(Christ) to public shame - would be a sin so great as to have no remedy - or course of repentance -and after a closer examination - I would have to support this point of view - however: not to save my own hide -
or my sinner neighbor's hide- but in truth for the truth by the truth - this would explain the opposition
of these two scriptures - how one seems to say 'once saved always saved'- and the other says - 'once saved- and turned back - no getting saved again' - but this instead ie; for instance: (those of the 12 tribes that renounce their faith in Christ as the messiah/ once accepting him as savior - and then siding with the enemy - and proclaiming islam - and the illicit works of the profit mohammad - who saw the fallen angel Lucifer as an angel of light - who gave them the false religion of Islam- this is more precise as to exactly what Hebrews 6 is talking about - that is not to say this would be hung exclusively on the Jews - or against Islam- but for any such one that was enlightened to the truth - and then turned his back on the cross- like a roman soldier who contributed to the slaying of Jesus - was later taught by Jesus himself after he rose from the dead -(1st Corinthians 15:6) and Jesus explained to him that his sins were forgiven - and that he did not know who he killed- how great was the sin - how great was the savior to forgive- and at that point the roman soldier would know the truth- and there would no longer be any excuse for him - but to repent - and to live under grace - how could he any long serve Caesar - any more than a jew could serve the dead letter of law in the ten commandments after being enlightened to the fulfillment of the law by grace in believing Jesus. That roman solider would then say 'All Hail the King Jesus'- and that roman soldier would be correct in doing so. And the jew would say save me Lord Jesus as I have broken one commandment I have broken them all - and now by believing in you - I am saved by this grace in the new covenant of God with man. And so to look at this word in such a way - it would almost seem impossible that one could turn away from the truth - in the tasting of the heavenly things (To See Jesus Face to Face) and then turn back (to fall away.)
Hebrews 6:6 VS romans 8:38 - we learn the unforgivable sin - is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit - and to do this- you would have to conclude the soul capable of committing the deadly sin (the son of perdition) was pre fated to the underworld of hades rather than the eternal light of heaven. By framing these scriptures - I believe it becomes a much more powerful statement as to live a Christian life - by turning from our evil desires and living a life pleasing to God - and if we fail to do so - to ask for repentance - and quickly enter back into the flow of heaven's grace- rather than stumbling at the things of darkness - the tricks of the devil - and the lies of the demons - and knowing that just as it is impossible for the man that turns his back on the Holy Ghost to be forgiven- it is simultaneously occurring at the same time impossible for the sinner saved by the blood of Yeshua- who asks forgiveness for his or her sins - to see the ruin of his or her soul - and the eternity of hell - that is not to say that he or she will not experience the fruits of his unrighteousness in the flesh - as these are the fundamental principles that govern the natural world - for what a man sews this he also reaps Galatians 6:7- in other words - if you murder - your chances of being murdered are 100% - but science and mathematics cannot account for the complexities of God's Super nature - or his(Yod's) willingness of intervention - and it would have to be the conclusion that the outcome of the individual relies heavily on his prior history such as genealogy - and the courses and structures of his life - based on decisions and the mere random arbitration in the various complexity of life? Nonsense of course - Let every man work out his own salvation Philippians 2:12 - and the most accurate conclusion - is our willingness to pray - to seek after the things of God (AMOS 5:6)- and to unfold his undying affection for his creation even after thousands of years of the strife of mankind - God's conclusion still began and ended in his beholding and revelation of Christ Jesus as the ultimate savior of the human condition. After all our failings - it is true: Love IS the answer.
