What is 22K and why do you wish it to hurry in arriving and where is it going and what has delayed it and why do you have hope in it?
New record and milestone for the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Come on 22k!!!!! (only 20 points to go...)

Obviously I responded too quickly but my mind actually works like that, attempting to fill in the blanks of any pause, no matter how fleeting or momentary...

The funny thing is that I saw the gragh/pic, but by the time I clicked to reply again, it was gone, so I opened it in another tab from your message (which I could still see as I was preparing to respond) to copy back in haha. I hope you don't mind my doing that, as it is what I saw that helped me realize what you were talking about before you even had a chance to answer my questions :D

Shirley was so entertaining to us when I was a kid :) It was very sad to find out as she matured how detrimental that lifestyle was to her development as a human being. We all have our challenges. Living life/growing up on a stage must be hard.

I should add that I don't have any money in the stock market, but I am happy for those who do....
(I'll just leave it at that.)

Quite a few years ago our boss at the time signed us all up for registered retirement savings plans instead of giving us a raise at the time. People could refuse it if they wished, but it seemed a good idea, with the company contributing a certain percentage of our wages on top of what we made to be matched by us from our wages. Of course in '08 just about everyone was bilked out of a third of their savings and the thieves got a slap on their wrists for stealing millions and billions from such funds that were being used to prop up the housing industry. To me it is just more of that detestable red tape of life, and the paperwork may as well be in Greek for all the numbers and graphs and company earnings and investments and this and that and the other thing too. But at the end of the day I have a little bit saved, though in the grand scheme of things it is really not much, especially compared to the cost of living and how much the housing market here has skyrocketed. There are times I think, oh I should have bought when I could have afforded it, but all those years ago I was always so unsettled and had no idea I would be so steady in my employment and besides, I dd not want the responsibility or to be tied down like that, so...

Oh sure, no biggie about the pic :D

Oh yea those child stars must be spoiled like no other. I mean people attending to them and probably getting everything they want. I dont know about Shirley's time, but I've read stuff about Lindsay Lohan and another young actress, I forget who. They basically had everyone at their beck and call, plus their own private trailer on movie sets and in Lindsay's case she could show up 2 hours late for a shoot and no one dared say anything to her because she was the star.

I'm so happy for you Lilbit! :D

On another note...

If anyone out there doesn't mind praying for me, please do. I've been feeling very down and alone lately...and scared that I'll be alone for the rest of my life. Ive never felt this scared and alone before. I know thats usually what you hear the teens and the 20 yr olds saying around here, but this is my reality and it seems like i've tried everything to attract someone in my life and its just... utterly... hopeless and I have no one. I'm not close with my kin and my mom is advanced in age. I don't know how much longer she will be with me. and I have no friends either, no social life at all.

I'm usually fine with all that but it seems like God has recently been making sure I have no one to talk to, except a couple people thru email... but I'm not good at writing emails, and Ive been trying the chat rooms everyday and its no use. Nobody knows me on there so pretty much all of my comments get ignored. Thanks for your prayers.

Not to be a Darlene downer but just remember what goes up comes crashing down......
Not this time. The bubbles of 2001, 2008 and Black Friday of 1987 all had distinct catalysts which underlined the market. On black friday it was all the day trading that was going on. New regulations were made to prevent it from re-occuring. In 2001 it was 9/11 because it took place right down the street from the stock market and everyone panicked because the US had never been attacked on its own shores before (except pearl harbor). In 2008 it was the housing crisis and credit default swaps that were loans which the banks thought were well insured but when the fed raised interest rates 13 times in a row, people could no longer afford their new home payments and the banks found out that there wasn't enough insurance money to cover all the bad loans they made...

This time there is no underlying catalyst. This is a market driven by positive earnings, confidence in spending and global economic stability despite the challenges being faced in the EU right now. Of course north korea could drop a missile on somebody tomorrow and the market would crash out of panic, but for now all systems are GO..

Yes, I love following the market a little too much..
