I have heard, from those who believe Jesus keeps on talking by using a woman who writes, that He (Jesus) said we need to be praying before a cross, asking His blood to cover us (at least as believers, or repented sinners).
I do believe in this He said:
Joh 3:14 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
Joh 3:15 that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
If you compare that with this:
Num 21:7 The people came to Moses and said, "We know that we sinned when we spoke against the LORD and against you. Pray to the LORD. Ask him to take away these snakes." So Moses prayed for them.
Num 21:8 The LORD said to Moses, "Make a bronze snake and put it on a pole. If anyone is bitten by a snake, that person should look at the bronze snake on the pole. Then that person will not die."
I bet we´re not idolaters by using a cross to think of Jesus but, if instrumentaly needed for salvation, the RCC seems to be "right" at having it somewhere else.
Do sins are the same thing as snakes? No! Unless I see those things that bite like deadly scorpions.
I´d better look at Jesus´ teachings, and at the OT. That´s the cross I can bear (Mat 16:24 Then Jesus said to his followers, "If any of you want to be my follower, you must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry the cross that is given to you for following me.).
