9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:9-10)

In this time of the world, the man do not confess the sin, the lie in him, and that's why the man do not come pure for the sins.

Confess your sins so you may come clean for it.

Yes. I agree 100%. 1 John 1:9 has become one of the most profound verses for me. I remember seeing this verse early in my Bible when I first got saved. In fact, when I cracked open the Bible for the first time, it felt like God was leading me immediately to this verse. It still means the same thing to me back then as it does today. There is no reason to not believe what it plainly says (Unless you have a Theology from man that conflicts with what it says).

~ "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins...." (1 John 1:9).

How beautiful that is. It's not any man made cheap grace (That says you can sin and still be saved). It's real grace. Amazing grace. How sweet the sound...

Galatians 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

1 Corinthians 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

Jeremiah 3:11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
Jeremiah 3:12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.
Jeremiah 3:13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.

Psalms 38:18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Psalms 85:10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
1 Corinthians 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

2 Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
2 Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

What are the 'sins' are you referring to?

I am far to aware of my sins and believe i repent of them all the time. How can I even begin to consider myself clean or righteous in any way for I am a sinner lower than the worms in the dirt and yet i see a hand reaching down from heaven gently and lovingly lifting my chin up

It is the lie where the people's live in today. When they love the world more than God, and the joys of the life, and claim to be like true christian's, but refuse the doctrines of the Bible, and keep living in this lie, and do not admit this lie where they live.

Sad... because I believe what 1 John 1:9 says plainly?

I didn't exactly see you trying to explain what it really says, my friend.

What doth thou thinkest that passage sayeth?

If you cannot see that having to re-atone for each incidence of us sinning is not why Jesus died, but merely a continuation of the old sacrificial system the Jews practiced, then I really wouldn't know what to say to you.

The last statement you made proves you have no clue about the grace of God and proves you are still lost in your sins.....The bible makes it clear that ONE does not LOSE salvation if/when they sin...as a matter of fact it states clearly that GRACE of God much MORE ABOUNDS ahead of our SIN dealing with our sin......your SALVATION (LITE) version is straight from hell and contradicts MANY scriptures.....!

At the end of the day it is your man made gospel that CHEAPENS the sacrifice of Christ and lessens the COMPLETE redemption and justification that is found in Christ!

Not sure how folks cannot see what the passage actually says.

1 John 1:9 clearly says, "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sin..."

If I am misunderstanding this verse, then I would like for someone to talk to me slowly and show me the context of it saying something different than what I am thinking it says. That's all I am asking. Show me what you think it says and prove your case with the context. Is that so hard for people here?

It means, that I we confess our sin's in us, and do not defend the wrongness in us, then our Lord will make us pure for all wrongness form us, and we will stop doing sin.
