Any scripture would be good. Reading the bible is definitely a form of hearing The Word of God.

If you read more than praying I would suggest Psalms. If you pray more than reading I would suggest The New Testament.

Very helpful of you Jon! Thanks :) Would you mind explaining how the New Testament could help with prayer?

The NT can help with praying according to the will of God for sure (your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven).

I was actually saying though that if you don't pray much you should read Psalms, and mainly because if you do you will naturally be praying much while reading Psalms.
If you are strong in the amount of time you pray then I was saying that the NT would probably be needed more so that you can be enabled to pray for ...on earth as it is in heaven.

Of course this is simply what helps me personally to maintain a good balance.

If you are strong in both areas...the OT should be even easier to understand because so much of its understanding is taught in the NT.

All scripture is edifying though...and that is just my personal opinion.

I am aware. I just like chucking it down to more. .swallowable amounts.

By reading a little a night or through the day.

Plus, I like when people direct me to certain spots. Makes me feel like they picked it just for me and my current situation.

Okay. I like that.
How about Ruth 1. Just imagine and the setting. Ignore parts you don't understand at the reading. Feel the emotions. And look for noble or praiseworthy acts.

I've began reading it! A very interesting section of the Bible. Read verses 1-5.

What ark are they talking about?

I know your question is not directed to me, but . . . it is the ark of the covenant. It is the ark that was in the holy of holies in the tabernacle and later in the temple. If anyone touches it, they die.
It is the one in the Harrison Ford movie. Search for the Lost Ark or something like that.

My questions are directed towards anyone who can answer them. :)

Yes, I noticed that about the Ark.

Jesus stuck solid to his word against Eli and his family.

That outbreak that happened against the people that had the ark was a bit creepy. Heh.

The outbreak was like a Hot Potato, so with some humor in it. How many chapters were you able to read?
