if it involves the desire to get money it is wrong....

so basically gambeling with/ for money is wrong and just "betting" without any stakes is OK, from how I interpert it

PM me if your looking for advice on the issue, I might be able to help.

Quickly though...

In itself, no. However gambling often comes from a desire to have more money and this is a problem.

There are things you need to consider... Will losing money hurt you? Will it hurt your friends/family?

What about the people you are taking money off, how will the loss of money effect them?

Unfortunately you need to consider all these factors... But it basically boils down to, is the primary goal of gambling for entertainment or to make money and will you hurt anyone by gambling?

If it is for entertainment and you aren't hurting anyone then no it isn't a problem. :)

- Edit -

You wont find any direct scriptures about gambling (apart from jesus' clothes cast by lot), what you need to look at it is the passages about love, work and helping others.

1 Timothy 6:9-10
9-10But if it's only money these leaders are after, they'll self-destruct in no time. Lust for money brings trouble and nothing but trouble. Going down that path, some lose their footing in the faith completely and live to regret it bitterly ever after.

luke 12:15
15Speaking to the people, he went on, "Take care! Protect yourself against the least bit of greed. Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot."

There. Biblical footing. Do what you will with it :)
