1 Corinthians 5 talks about how we shouldn't interact with anyone who claims to be a Christian but isn't walking the walk. So how can we do this if 1) there are so many people like this out there? 2) how can we do this if we're not supposed to judge?

follow God's Lead. i.e. stay close to God by faith in JESUS, FREQUENT PRAYER(CONSTANT), frequent BIBLE READING (Devotedly, Prayerfully, LISTENING as you read/ asking GOD all the time for HIS MEANING//PURPOSE//WORD// PLAN...

and (very very hard) stay 'submitted' in whatever place GOD places you (often where you are at the time you first get saved, even if with/under/ around unbelievers for a time UNTIL God opens a door to go out) ....

we are slaves of either the enemy (which all are at first), or of JESUS (slaves of RIGHTEOUSNESS), not given a whole lot of

choice other than who we are willing to OBEY.... because we always obey someone -- either in the enemy, or in GOD....

this is one reason the road is so narrow that leads to life and FEW FIND IT --- they don't want to be a slave, but they are anyway,

of the enemy if not willingly of GOD .....

and yes, believers are often alone, but not lonely..... abiding in union with YAHWEH THE CREATOR in YAHSHUA is more than

anyone in the world can offer; and GOD offers the gift of life 'FREELY' to those willing to do all that HE SAYS. Since HE IS THE CREATOR
and
HE ALONE HAS THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE..... it is HIS CHOICE, and no one else can offer eternal life anyhow!

as HE SAYS: choose today who you will serve.... but as for me and my house, we will serve YAHWEH by grace through faith in YAHSHUA and even the faith we have is a sheer gift from YAHWEH ! HALLELUYAH! AMEIN.

oh, as for judging..... learn what YAHWEH says about that.... there's several different times and words and so on --- as He says plainly,
don't judge by what is seen or heard or felt -- but judge righteously - i.e. what GOD SAYS, agree with.

I know it's directed at christians who arent real christians... 1) how do we find them? 2) how do we find them withojt judging?

Oh and then how do we avoid them?

The Holy Ghost is your guide...

John 16.13-14 says

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

You have so many great questions, I would recommend reading John 14, 15 and 16. These chapters are meat for you to begin learning spiritual discernment. Spiritual discernment is not to be confused with the gift of discerning of spirits found in 1 Cor 12.

Actually, the scriptures about not judging mean not judging non-Christians. As Christians we are to judge a tree by it's fruit. Notice, this is we are to look for fruit of the holy spirit, not stand in judgment over someone.

It would be like someone asked you to go and take drugs and watch porn all while claiming to be christian. You are called to refuse their invitation.

those who know to do good but do not do it, to them it is sin.

You will meet those who claim to be christian but do not live as Christ has taught us to live, Paul is saying do not associate with such as these.

We cannot 'avoid' them for they are part of the family, church or they are out there and everywhere. called by CHRIST as 'wolves in sheep clothing'. GOD will them to be there, even 'satan', so that in the 'midst' we may learn to 'practice' and 'abide' in JESUS's words/teachings of 'AGAPE' in 'practicality' towards them and at times how annoying they can be and further not to be equally 'yoked' with them.

To my 'downfall experiences', when i focus like you on the things you mention on your 'Tread', i end up being 'miserable' because 'when i judge', i end up 'doing the same thing that they do'. And when i 'accuse, there is no excuse for me'.

If i 'judge', i have to 'judge' as JESUS taught us Christians, to use the 'measure' of 'just' and 'fair' judgement according to HIS word/teaching. By judging my 'self' first, i know i am no better than them, for at times not being in the 'right frame of mind according to the word/teaching of CHRIST', i also end up doing the very same things that they do.

And so knowing them and me, me/i must concentrate to do/practice what GOD calls me to do/practice through HIS Word, CHRIST's words/teachings according to the written New Covenant and by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT, who work in me, in reminding me and sir up of my memory again and again all them that have been written and taught and given to me.

In regards to 'them', if i were to 'judge' about them, i would be 'careful' for CHRIST know about all of us and no one need to tell HIM about anyone and the only thing i can do who do not know all hings, is and as it is written;

"Be wise as a serpent and innocent as a dove."

Even though we are sent among a 'pack of wolves'.

This is about Church dicipline where one who claims to be a believer IN THE LOCAL ASSEMBLY is living in open sin.

When this occurs, the entire congregation is called to break fellowship until the one living in sin repents.

This was never intended to be done on an individual basis.

With all due respect to you 'sir MarcR', i want to agree with you on that one, but the written Scripture of the Gospel speaks otherwise.

Because JESUS of Nazareth allowed Judas Iscariot to fellowship with HIM and all the disciples for more than two years perhaps, even though JESUS knew he was going to betray HIM and Apostle John knew he use to steal from the money bag and he did not care for the poor.

Our Lord and Master teaches us to judge, but never unto condemnation. He sais we are to judge for ourselves what is right, and if we do not practice this, we are simply hypocrites.

The pivotal word here is self! We do not judge for others what is right, but for ourselves. If we do not judge for ourselves what is right as we walk our walk in the valley of tears, we are closing our eyes to evil giving it the nod to go ahead, and this is evil.

Judg for yourself, always, what is right, and keep your eyes on Jesus Christ. He will show you the way in every instance.

God bless you always in the Love tht is Jesus, amen.

1 Corinthians 5 talks about how we shouldn't interact with anyone who claims to be a Christian but isn't walking the walk. So how can we do this if 1) there are so many people like this out there? 2) how can we do this if we're not supposed to judge?

The answer is much closer to you than your question implies. While I was awake, I was shown something that applied directly to me and the things I thought were right. In this vision, the Word of God came to me, and immediately I was deeply troubled. I repented of my sins and began to follow on a path of incredible understanding. I entered a familiar church, turned and said, "See what evil there is in the world, surely the end times are near! As the last word left my mouth, the Holy Spirit quires, "Where have you just come from hypocrite, that you so boldly point away from yourself?" I was stunned by the truth of the question. The answer I have; Don't run with trouble; be prepared to give witness.

Jesus knows everyone's sin entirely.. and tells his disciples/students how to deal with it.

if judas' sin was known by the disciples, he would have had to repent of it or be put out until he repented.

the disciples didn't have a clue, and neither did others, except Jesus, about judas' sin.

when someone 'claims' to be a believer, and refuses to repent of sin after appropriate warnings/discipline,

the Word of God says to put out the evil from your midst. period. it must be done.

Hi JF,

Scripture is spiritually discerned, 1Cor 2:14. If we read it simply in physical terms then we'll make the same mistake as Nicodemus who thought that "born-again"meant we had to go back in to our mothers womb. Theres a lot of symbolism in scripture hence we should consider this when reading the Bible.

Note how 1Cor 5:1 speaks of one who is in sexual relations with his father's wife. If we read it in physical terms then we'll be just like Nicodemus and misunderstand.

Consider the symbolism.

1Cor 5: refers to non-believers who seek to be perfected by the flesh through works of the law.
It refers to spiritual sexual immorality.

The father that 1Cor 5:1 refers to is the devil, who is the same father that Jesus accused the legalistic Pharisees having in John 8:44.
The wife refers to Hagar, who is symbolic for righteousness by works of the law, Gal 4:24.

The devil wants us to reject God's grace. He wants us to seek to establish our own righteousness by works of the law rather than submitting to God's righteousness. The devil wants us to be in bondage.

This spiritual sexual immorality is confirmed also several verses later in 1Cor 5:6,7, where it warns against "leaven".
What is "leaven"?
Matt 16:12 tells us that it's the doctrine of the Pharisees. And their doctrine is righteousness by works of the law, which is hypocrisy.

Thus we see the leaven in 1Cor 5:6,7 confirming the spiritual sexual immorality spoken of in 1Cor 5:1. Bothe these scriptures refers to legalistic doctrine of righteousness by works of the law, which is symbolized as Hagar in Gal 4:24.

And 1Cor 5:13 says that we should put out such wicked people from amongst us, as a little leaven (doctrine of righteousness by works of the law, Matt 16:12), can leaven the whole lump, 1Cor 5:6.

Thus we see 1Cor 5 warning us not to tolerate legalists within the church congregation. We're saved by grace, thus we should not allow legalism lead us astray.

Rom 11:6
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

So to answer your 2 questions....
How do we find them?
If anyone professing to be a Christians preaches righteousness by works of the law, even mixing this with grace, then such are into spiritual sexual immorality.

And how do we avoid them?
If they do not change from their wicked legalistic doctrine after being confronted by the church, then they should not be permitted within the congregation.

Remember that 1Cor 5:6 warns that a little leaven (doctrine of righteousness by works of the law, Matt 16:12) leavens the whole lump. God warns that we should not expose ourselves to the corrupting influence of legalism.

Don't be afraid to correct people in a loving manner. They'll probably shrug off your correction with a gentle laugh, but you will have planted a seed. Then pray for them, always.

1) How do we find them?

Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

2) How do we find them without judging them?

Judging a person is to condemn them...

Mat 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Raca:

G4469

ῥακά
rhaka
rhak-ah'
Of Chaldee origin (compare [H7386]); O empty one, that is, thou worthless (as a term of utter vilification): - Raca.
Total KJV occurrences: 1

Now being able to discern is simple, again by the fruits you know them. If they are doing the works of the flesh (Gal 5:19-21), it will be obvious. One can see their works. Judging would be to condemn them for their works. That is not our job...

Jas 4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
Jas 4:12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

Rom 14 gets misused more than used correctly but here is the time to refer to it...

Rom 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Rom 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Rom 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

In this same spirit, it is written it is God's will that no soul should perish. A long time ago, because of this lesson it became more than evident that if it is His will, I must be as He is. I have always prayed for others, and the closest I have ever come to retaliatein others for sinning agains me is asking God's protection from manyone who appeared to be in favor of my harm. He has always protected me, and all who believe Him

Now it may sound offish to some that it is God's will that no soul should perish yet there is separation from God. I believe this is because people choose evil over good, the enemy over our beloved Maker. I get this understanding from one of the prophesies found in the New Testament that say in the last days people will be lieve lies because they had chosen evil over good. I believe this is ondoing today, and it is getting worse. In the same prophesy it says they wil be subjected to a spirit of delusion, agian because they have chosen (compound past tense evil. It seems reasonable this is so to me.

So, let us pray for those who may seem not with the family. Sometimes someone who is new in the faith may say things or post things that to most seem absolutely absurd, but again, they could be right.

God bless all in Jesus Christ always, amen. thanks elly
