How can we honor God?

With our heart:
"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with {their} lips; but their heart is far from me.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching {for} doctrines the commandments of men."
Mathew 15:8-9

With our teachings:
"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with {their} lips; but their heart is far from me.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching {for} doctrines the commandments of men."
Mathew 15:8-9

Divine exhortations :
- God will not share His glory and honor
"I {am} the LORD: that {is} my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images."
Isaiah 42:8

The curse will come upon those who do not change their attitude:

"If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay {it} to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay {it} to heart."
Malachi 2:2

Promises for those who honor God:
"Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed {that} thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed."
1 Samuel 2:30

"And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
And they lifted up {their} voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
And when he saw {them}, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
And fell down on {his} face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where {are} the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole."

Luke 17:12-19

1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

We honor God by giving him credit for our eternal salvation instead of taking credit for it by claiming our good works is the reason we are saved eternally.

When Jesus heard his answer, he said, "There is still one thing you haven't done.
Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor......

When we hear a person and also value their words...we honor that person.
When we meditate on their teachings as something beyond value...we honor that person.
When we ask to learn more from that person...we honor that person.
When we give that person credit for what has been given...we honor that person.
When we practice what is taught by that person...and give that person credit for our actions according to what is taught...we honor that person.

As the OP showed...
Malachi 2 King James Version (KJV)

2*And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.

2*If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

God loves when we hear.

Mark 12:29-30King James Version (KJV)

29*And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30*And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

action speaks louder than words. Be not hearers only but doers. We can tell the Almighty all day how much we honor Him, but what are our actions telling Him?

by using the many gifts that He blesses us with
when we take that first honoring step to come
out of the world - and its unholy ways -
our separation begins and we begin to see
our reflection in the Holy pool of insights.

Holy is Holy

profane is profane

Thy Word is Truth.

The Bible also tells what are our actions...

The action that speaks loud is Christ Jesus dying on the Cross for our atonement and then His Resurrection. If you think any action on your part or mine could add to that, you are blind, brother.

The Lord's gift of grace to us is free. Nothing we can do of ourselves is gift enough for Jesus. He deserves more than a few "actions of honor" as you're foolishly suggesting.

Jesus said, "Only believe." It's an absurdity to our flesh that something so simple as believing Christ, trusting that what He did was sufficient, is all He wants from us. For you see, if you truly believed what Jesus said, you WOULD be obeying Him from your heart and not making lame efforts to appease Him. You would genuinely love Jesus from your heart instead.

We honor God when we put His will (as revealed in Scripture and through the Holy Spirit within us) above our own.

Seek to eliminate the suffering of anyone, be happy with your suffering as much as is possible, and remember who is your true family or whom are true believers. Go near to the father.
