Whether you believe it or not, the obvious decision of this current administration in the U.S. portends the coming persecution of American Christians, in the same fashion that Christians around the world who are much closer to their faith and adamant about upholding it are being arrested, tortured, and killed for their faith. Consider how the Micronesian Christians have been slain for their faith for the last decade. Boko Haram has killed Christians by the thousands in Nigeria. We have not had to face this kind of persecution. But it is coming, and soon.

To this point, we haven't been persecuted, just annoyed. Obama's administration has passed laws, as have states, counties, and municipalities, that restrict our ability to practice our faith freely. These are direct violations of the First Amendment guarantees of freedom of religion, but it has made no difference in the ability of governments to pass such legislation, and enforce it. But now, his administration has abandoned Israel in favor of Islamic terrorists.

There are many on this board who will disagree with the statement I'm about to make, but I respectfully ask that you not turn this thread into a debate over dispensationalism vs. covenant, or "replacement" theologies. Please, do not do so. Restrict you comments to persecution coming to America, and what we should do when it does.

With the abandonment of Israel, our nation has removed itself from the protective hand of God that has been upon the United States as a result of our friendship with Israel, and will now be subject to His wrath, just as the rest of the world will soon be. Whether the world -- or some Christians -- like it or not, God gave that land to Israel, and much more than they've ever actually held. We have, since the recreation of Israel as a nation in 1948, defended Israel's right to exist. Now, for the first time in our history, a spokesperson for State has sidestepped the issue of whether we still hold to the premise of Israel's legitimacy.

With that reversal of foreign policy, God's hand will be removed from us as a nation, and those within our own nation who have been restrained by the Holy Spirit will now unleash their hatred of Christ, and the God of the Bible, on all of us who follow Them. We will see persecution as we have never imagined to which we could be subject.

Franklin Graham Warns Christians in America 'Persecution Is Coming'

"I believe we're going to see persecution in this country," Graham said during an interview on "Fox and Friends Weekend" on [March 8, 2015]. "We've already seen many laws that have been passed that restrict our freedom as Christians. I believe it's going to get worse, and we see no question gaining influence in Washington by those that represent the Islamic faith. We do have a problem in this country and we are losing our religious freedom and we're losing it a little bit day by day."

He has been outspoken in his critique of Obama's leadership and that of nearly everyone in Washington, especially when it comes to the battle against ISIS. Graham also encouraged Christians to get involved in politics and run for office in order to do God's will.

"Who says we can't be in politics?" he asked in January at the Oklahoma State Evangelism Conference. "The gays and lesbians are in politics, I can tell you that. All the anti-God people are in politics. They're there. Why shouldn't the church be there? Who says we can't speak up? Who says our voice can' be heard? Get involved. I'm here to tell you that the only way, the only hope is not a Republican, it's not a Democrat or whoever. The only hope is that this country repents of its sins and turns once again to the God of our fathers and to His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ — otherwise, there is no hope."
The only thing I disagree with Graham about is that this country, as a country, has no hope anyway. The only ones who have hope are those of us found in Christ Jesus. But this will not prevent us from being persecuted, arrested, beaten, exiled, even killed. The apostle Paul promised it.

2 Timothy 3, NASB
11 persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me!
12 Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
13 But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
14 You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

When persecution comes, as it will, we will face a choice, which shouldn't for the true Christian be any choice at all: Abandon Christ, or face the consequences of holding fast to our faith. And Jesus has told us what we must do.

Matthew 5
11
"Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
12 "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Prepare yourself. Jesus would tell us to "gird our loins." Be ready. It is coming. What will you do?

I agree it is coming and have been saying it for some time as well.......I personally believe the nation will be judged by God, our money will fail and we will be decimated by a strike that renders our military inoperable followed by an active invasion....I also believe that before this happens that the Lord's churches and the children of God will be ostracized, persecuted, rejected, imprisoned and possibly even murdered en masse........

At the end of the age I can rightfully assume one of the following concerning the U.S.

1. God gathers ALL nations against Israel/Jerusalem to pour out his wrath in judgment upon those nations gathered......

a. The U.S. is found in number 1 above and is decimated by the wrath of God or
b. The U.S. is no longer a nation because she has FALLEN......

It is sad how the church has taken for granted the freedoms we have had by law. When more and more freedoms are taken away...all things common will be practiced again most likely. If the church doesn't like the idea now...perhaps they will later when it profits their flesh more than alternative ways of survival. In such a case the motivation would most likely be according to the self preservation of the flesh...which is still sad...as the motivation should be to help others while glorifyingGod.

We as Christians have been, and continue to be persecuted daily. Things will only get worse as the day of our Lord Jesus Christ's second coming draws closer.......

2 Timothy 3:1-5
1But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Matthew 13:24-30
24He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, 25but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds[SUP]c[/SUP] among the wheat and went away. 26So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. 27And the servants[SUP]d[/SUP] of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’ 28He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ 29But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.’”

As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be when the Son of man shall return. Each man doing that which was right in his own eyes.

Even so come quickly Lord Jesus.

The fields are white unto harvest but the laborers are few.

For the cause of Christ

The leftists in this country believe that it is because of believing christians and jews who reject Allah as equal to Jesus and G_d, that muslims are in jihad. They believe all gods are the same God and those of us who reject such demonic teaching are ignorant and backward and out of touch with the truth.
They are terrified of muslims and want to submit to their demands. They have no god so they believe all religions are foolishness. They believe religion is the opiate of the people and true believers are mentally ill and a threat to the peace they are trying to establish without God.

Ephesians 6 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Christian Warfare

10 Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics[g] of the Devil. 12 For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. 13 This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. 14 Stand, therefore,
with truth like a belt around your waist,
righteousness like armor on your chest,
15 and your feet sandaled with readiness
for the gospel of peace.[h]
16 In every situation take the shield of faith,
and with it you will be able to extinguish
all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit,
which is God’s word.

18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. 20 For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough in Him to speak as I should.

The powers-that-be are puffed up, vain and Godless, drunk on Satan's deceptions. The elevation of homosexuality and antisemitism in the West are of, undoubtedly, rebellious and Satanic origins: there is only God and the other guy, whatever they want to call the latter, but the devil is a narcissist, a liar and a murderer. There's no true religion involved. You're with God or against God. I believe all the self-aggrandizement of unregenerate man has gone to his head, demonic spiritual powers having taken over their minds. I don't think most people even know they're the devil's sock puppets, for instance, have no real idea why they are suddenly in love with homosexuality and hate Jews and the like. Here's what they're up to,

Psalms 2:1-4 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Just evil and vanity run amuck, the prelude to,

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

The key phrase? "The people imagine a vain thing." A senseless thing. A stupid thing. Whatever you want to call sprinting off the edge of a cliff, whatever you'd call a vain creature who thinks he can box with the Creator. Think about it. Would you even attempt to war against God at Armageddon? The world is headed for completely bonkers, so do yourself a favor: don't try to make sense of any of it. It's a real matter of, "Just what are these idiots going to do next?"

I agree except that I see one other possible scenario.

c. the Church is raptured before the wrath of God is unleashed; and the persecution falls on the tribulation saints.

The wrath of God does not come until after the seventh trump coming of Jesus.
Don't confuse the coming tribulation with the wrath of God.
Two different words with two different meanings.
