Folks, when you post a ton of info it falls on deaf ears. Do you not understand that? When you post beyond a few lines interest fades quickly. Why? because you aren't posting anything from you. It is copy and paste or link. Only those who are close to you, your friends or someone closely following a thread that pay attention to lengthy posts.

Want someone to skip over your post? Make it it long and laborious to read.
If you have something from the bible it simply doesn't take that many lines or posts to be of interest..

Want someone to ignore your posts? Make it long.

Tldr, summary please.

Just kidding :D I know what you mean because I'm one to skip long posts unless it really engages me or if I really want to know what they are saying. There's a lot to get through here, and not enough time.

Honestly, I don't know where people find the time or energy to pick apart some post in a reply and answer each of their points, point by point!

I like reading long posts if they are written by the poster and aren't total garbage. It's the long copy paste ones and the short ones that are like half a verse that are used to "prove" someone is wrong which I prefer to skip lol

It's because you are living in a "POST"-modern world.

Mine are long but I used to read JesusIsTheChrists threads and his were monsterous in size but as long as you made some sense (most the time) and your posts were laden with scripture they were like a magnet to me.

Rare but I looked for so much, and mostly because I prefer to take in the word of God and less of that person, like I would tell him I really liked alot of his posts it was just some of the extra commentary I could do without.

I add my own as well, and I do try to minimize that because I prefer the other (the scriptures)

You either post too little (they come back and wrangle with you) or too much (and bore the pants off of them) you cant please everyone, look at the size of Paul's epistles, although I so wished there was more of those.

Im of the older school though, I prefer posts heavier, so I can see how they handle the scripture, make adequate comparisons which might take a bit show things throughout, but I personally prefer them laden with scripture.

Just use the scoll button or the ignore button.

Folks will tune into what blesses them and tune out to what doesnt.

Some have no content whatsoever and there is more of those then anything else. I mean you could scroll down the entire length of one full page of nothing but smack, and there might be three scattered posts about 12 inches in length each (jam packed with scripture) and which one would folks gripe about? It would be the length of the one containing more of the words of our God, then all the littler post containing most of the words of ourselves.

Theres not much of the words of God out there I will take it wherever I can find it. I can feed my own self but I still love when some feeds me with something that registers with me, and you got to sift through and for these.

People do have different preferences though.

Christ made each of His points within 2 or three verses worth.
(Please, don't lecture us that there were no verses back in Jesus' day).

I only read long posts if they're:

A) interesting
B) not a load of bollocks
C) actually written by the poster (not a copy and paste job)

If someone wants to post something that requires more effort, they should just provide a link to the website.

Ah, but you're missing some things. I am, naturally, long winded. I don't copy and paste except if a Bible verse works for what I'm trying to say. My family does put up with it, however, they get a benefit unattainable on the Net (so far.) They can do the winding hand sign. You know the one. "Are you going to wrap this up any time soon?" "Will you get to the point already?"

Long-winded is from me. :)

Awh...That was nice of you to say, I dont get that much,
I get, Man O' man, you are just so longwinded and way too colorful and you are going to give someone a seizure using those colors. Stuff like that. The ignore button works just fine for me too (and by that I mean "being on it") yep...that works for me too lol

Since this is a good place to whine about posting, I've got one most don't consider. I'm bifocaled already with a second pair of glasses just for computer time. I can't take too much italics, too much coloring, bolding, underlining, etc. in a single post. It makes it too disjointed. I also know a couple of folks with epilepsy that have a chance of a seizure if they see red. "Ignore it" doesn't necessarily work. Rather like trying to ignore an elephant. It's noticeable.

You two (just above) don't write long posts, not by my account. I don't read them all, but of those I do read, I don't skim them. We're talking the nonsensically-long posts some people make. At least I am.

I wish people would do that more often, since I've seen several instances of people posting copyrighted material, and judging from the speed it took them to respond to a question, they didn't ask permission to use it. Adding the source and that it is copyrighted, doesn't make it any less plagiarism. If you take without asking, it's stealing.

I get it's because most don't know copyright laws, but it seems it ought to become important to learn them. Same deal with the photo artwork, the illustrations posted, the funny signs, and anything that isn't yours to use. Unless it's public domain, or your own, you have to ask to use it.

Honestly? Every Bible version is also copyrighted too. The owners are less strict about using them, but there are limits. (I've never wholesaled used beyond the limits, but the one I learned about was the easiest limits -- the KJV. The Queen Mum owns the copyright, and the rules are no more than 2,000 verses without asking. lol Most others are far less than that.)

Yeah, but you have interesting stuff to say. I can read you fine, and do, if it's not color coded. I don't want to ignore you. I simply can't take all the color coding and changes in formatting. (Your choice of course. Just letting you know why I don't respond more often to you. Nothing personal.)

On the good side, yay! Long winded to long winded. lol
